was a pleasure. He was quick to respond to my request for an updated quote as I had previously sought one from him a year ago for the same job. The quote was a couple hundred dollars lower than previously estimated which was a pleasant surprise. Once approval was granted,

quickly scheduled the job for about a week later. The installers came in around 7AM on a Sunday and were done and left around 2PM. At first glance, I was disappointed that they had left the new carpet unvacuumed. I also noticed they'd left a hammer and some tiles behind. (The tiles were left on purpose, I later found out, in case we ever needed or wanted to replace any.) After cleaning our new floors, it was time to put all our office equipment back in place. While doing so, I noticed partial (cut) tiles were installed where the carpet met the tile. It was clear that would pose a problem due to the fact that they weren't evenly placed and they were in a high traffic area. My fears that they would crack or lift later proved true. I also noticed glue spots throughout the newly tiled areas which caused dirt to quickly stick and appear quite unattractive. The installers had moved a large desk which I had left a note on indicating it wasn't to be moved more than a few inches because there were telephone lines and electric lines permanently attached. Sure enough, a check of our security footage revealed the installers never read the note and attempted to move the desk several feet. Their efforts caused a phone line to be broken and I was irritated that it meant callers to our business wouldn't have even gotten to our answering machine. A closer inspection of the carpet revealed a few frayed edges along the walls. After taking numerous pictures of the problem areas, I emailed

"Earnest is a kind and honest businessman. The first morning he and his employee arrived over an hour late. The following the days were the same. It wasn't an issue, as we weren't yet living in the home, but had the situation been different it would have been an issue. He listened intently to what I wanted and delivered some beautifully refinished floors. We had him replace the foot molding(quarter round) throughout as it had seen better days. Upon inspecting the work inbetween coats of varnish, there were seams in the quarter round in the middle of rooms that were quite obvious. We asked him to redo those areas to which he obliged. I just hoped it could have been done correctly the first time."

He was to come back the next day to do the work, but called later in the afternoon and said he had a cancellation and could come right then. Great for me. He had cut a hole in the kitchen wall earlier to get an idea of the damage the screws had done to the waste pipe and had checked what he needed to buy for the toilet repair, so he picked those items up on his way back to the house. He offered to buy the spray foam for my fireplace fix-up as I had planned to do that myself, but when I asked him to add that to what he was doing, he said he'd be glad to do it. It took him and his helper about 2 hrs, and another quick run to Lowes to get it all completed. The toilet problem turned out to be a bit more than was initially obvious and required an additional part. Because I added on some additional work and the toilet project grew a bit, the initial estimate was no longer accurate. But even with the additions, it still did not increase the overall cost very much.

The toilet and vinyl floor replacement was completed in a satisfactory manner as was the caulking on the shower surround and the hole in the wood. When I called to let the company know about the grout, they offered to have
