"This was my first time using a contractor from Angie's List and I will tell you that I could not have been more pleased. I went to visit at Commonwealth and toured both the showroom and production facility. I had an estimate within a day - the templates were done within 2 days and installation happened on the third day. The whole process was flawless. We did have one issue on the second rental property that was flagged by my General Contractor. The owners of Commonwealth Counter Tops were out the very next day and acknowledge the issue an fixed the problem right away. "The initial ordering process was fine. The store owners were pleasant, patient and helpful. The problem came with the installation process. First off, the man who came to measure did not measure properly. When the granite was delivered, it did not fit the area because the sink (which was included in the price) was far too large for my sink area. Therefore, everything had to go back. On the second trip out, I was told they would arrive between 1 PM and 2:30 PM, I called to verify this time the afternoon before. The next day at 9:45 AM, I received a call that the installers were at my home. I had to leave my job to go to the house. They claimed to know nothing about the prearranged time. They did have the new counter top and the alternate sink. However, when going to install the sink, they then found that while the length and width was fine, the depth was not. My water pipes went up too high to accommodate the sink. At no point did any of the measurer's or installers check this out previously. So, in order to get the sink in, the pipes would have to be cut. My option was to call a plumber and pay him to come immediately or send the counter top back again. So, I called the plumber who had to cut and reroute the pipes in order to get the sink in. Next problem was the faucet (included in the price). Because of the depth of the sink, it was impossible to install the faucet -- there was not enough room under my sink to do it. So, I had to go buy a new faucet ($175.00) and have that installed. When I called the company to complain and request reimbursement for the new faucet and additional plumbing costs, I was told the sink and faucet were "free" - what? When I told him I paid $3,300 for the package and no, the faucet/sink was not "free" he did not agree. I asked him if I needed to go to the BBB. He then claimed I was threatening him, and told me to go ahead to the BBB if I wanted. Which, I shall do. Beware of this company. The countertops are really gorgeous, BUT, all granite countertops are gorgeous and I imagine you can get better service at comparable prices elsewhere."

"We were quite pleased with the overall work. There were some minor hiccups, but none were the fault of the contractor and he was quite flexible in dealing with them. He was professional, reliable and easy to reach unlike other contractors who don't return calls! He showed integrity and I appreciated his honesty when he explained that certain types of work were outside his area of expertise. We will be hiring him again for future work."

"The job is very much past the deadline, the job-site was always filthy, and our hardwood floors have been ruined with tile grout and paint. There have been serious problems with the job that Mr did not attempt to resolve in a timely manner. Mr also repeatedly shouted at me on the phone. Problems include: failed inspections, leaking plumbing, mislaid tile, ductwork done incorrectly, and worst of all, Mr. lied to us about ordering and putting deposits on our cabinets, windows and doors. This has been a complete nightmare."

"It couldn't have gone any more smoothly. All contractors were there when they said they'd be there, all work was done promptly, both plumbing sub and countertop sub cleaned up after themselves and were extremely careful with both the demo and the install. Nothing broken, nothing scratched."

"I had to store the cabinets inside of my house. Cabinets were all good and ready to be installed. What should have taken 2 weeks including waiting for countertops, took 2 1/2 months. At the end of the first month, the basic cabinets were in, and the countertop was 80% done, but none of the trim work. If the installer said he would be at my place at 8:00 a.m., you could expect him around noon. The installer did quality work, but was extremely slow and he would only show up one day a week at most, usually Friday, and he would stay until 10:30 pm or until I told him to leave. He got very offended when we finally complained to . We sub-contracted painting, electrical work, and flooring ourselves. Our subcontractors came when the installer was not there, and never held him up. The electrician had to wait on the cabinet installer several times. We had planned on a one month disruption. This got to be ridiculous. HD takes your money up front and you are left without any recourse."

"They did excellent quality work from start to finish. They made sure we were 100% satisfied before signing off. They handled everything and that made things a lot easier for me because I didn t want to have to hire a lot of companies. They made it all and cleaned up all of the mess and everything was great."

"I enjoyed their service from the sales, to the clean up. They called when they were headed my way, which was always early in the morning and they did exactly what they said they would do. They worked hard to get my kitchen gutted and cleaned up all of the mess and hauled it off. There was nothing that I had to clean up. I am very satisfied with the ending results."
