"I spoke with Pat about our orangish red water. He came by, tested our water (no charge), and shared the results with me. He recommended a 3 stage filtration system to remove the iron" from the water.
promptly came out a few days later and installed the system for us. It took about 5 hours total. After purging the water in the house, I am extremely happy to report we have beautiful crystal clear water. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions and for a job well done!

"Pat Smelik of Advanced Water Systems (AWS) came out on 1Feb2013 and went through a full set of water tests and made sure to ask about our water provider and the water system in our" house. He made sure to ask about what we wanted, how many people lived in the household and made sure that both my wife and I were involved and could ask any questions we had. He even waited around for another 20 or so minutes for my wife to get home so that she could see the options and ask any questions in person. While they were willing to install the system in the following days after the estimate and order, they were willing to schedule it for the following Friday. The installation and plumbing changes were all performed in-house and not contracted out to another company, which I found quite accommodating. It meant that if anything were wrong, then I would only have one company to deal with and there wouldn't be any finger-pointing between companies while I was still left with a problem. After the install, the AWS crew cleaned the work area up quite nicely and spent the time to go over the system and the maintenance that I should expect. They also made sure to show me the rock salt that they used and explained why they chose it and where they purchased it from. They also made sure to leave one of the empty bags at the softener/filtration unit as a reminder since it is about every 2 months that I need to check the salt level. After a year now, we are about ready for our first R/O filter replacement and we will have AWS come out and perform that maintenance and show us how to do it in case we wish to do it ourselves. Lastly, they worked with us on a billing plan so that we could pay it off based on our expectation of finances. This was the only piece that we ended up having issues with. The plan was for 6 months of payments with a full payout at the end of the 6-month period. The bill for the payment that I expected to receive a request for the remaining balance, it was for the normal 6-month rate. This was easily remedied after a short call with their offices where the office manager and I quickly went over the situation and how to complete closing out the account. But, it was a minor inconvenience that I did not expect after all of the other outstanding service. I highly recommend AWS to install a
system and have to a number of my friends and co-workers and look forward to our next maintenance.

Water Softener Installation And Repair reviews in Raleigh

The initial explanation of services was very thorough and professional. Installation went very well. The water was previously awful. Typical AQUA well water. Now it is great both for drinking and bathing. The cost of this system is a lot but it is wonderful to have good water that doesn't stain everything and tastes great.

This is the most knowledgeable service provider of water purification that I have ever used. He explained everything - lots I did not know and gave me tips on how I could use it more efficiently. I would love to replace my system with a new one, but cost right now does not fit my budget. But when I have the wherewithal to have a new one installed,
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
will be the company I will hire! Very impressed with professionalism and knowledge and of course know-how.

What was supposed to be a "Free" inspection to check for leaks turned into a $230 lesson. The actual condition of the expansion tank is questionable considering that my neighbors had no problems and experts say that exapansion tanks last much longer than mine did. Also, I was charged $60 for the tank that the company bought from Lowe's. The Lowes website listed it for $42. I was charged for the time which included the hour it took for the worker to drive to Lowes and purchase the tank. So, for a 2 hour job, 1 of those hours being the time to go to Lowes, I was charged a ridiculous price. As a single mother of 2 children, I was taken advantage of. The work completed seems to be fine, but this company has failed to promote ethics among its workers.

I live in a neighborhood served by a private well service with hard water. After installing a tankless water heater, I learned that the warranty could be voided because of scale buildup from using hard water. I decided that I needed to filter my well water to protect my tankless water heater. I'm fortunate that my neighborhood has a referral system for service providers which referred me to Kinetico and
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
. Initially, I was just interested in a whole house water filter and that was the basis for my appointment with Pat of
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked

When Pat arrived at our appointed time I told him that I wanted a quote on a filter because I had a tankless water heater and had been told that using hard water may void the warranty. I explained that I was not interested in a whole house water softener because I had them in the past and wasn't a fan for two reasons; I didn't want to install a new tap for drinking water and because washing with it made me feel that I couldn't get the soap off. Pat acknowledged my concerns and agreed that tankless water heaters require special treatment including regular flushing and that installing a whole house water filter is an option.

Pat next told me about his company, Kentico's technology, and explained all of the water treatment options and the advantages/disadvantages of each in detail. He patiently addressed all my concerns and answered my numerous questions. Next he performed extensive tests of our water for hardness, acidity and contaminants and demonstrated how the result would be different depending on the water treatment selected. At no time did I feel pressured for any option and he always acknowledged that installing just a whole house filter would be an improvement. I felt as if I was getting an education instead of a sales call.

Armed with all the evidence I decided that installing the combination Macrolite/softener was the best option. It would not only protect the tankless water heater warranty but also save us money in reduced maintenance and expenses.

The installation, which was in a crawl space went without any issues. The installer was personable, experienced and knowledgeable. He worked tirelessly to get the system up and running quickly. Once he was done, he took the time to explain the system, its components, how the shut off unit worked and when to add salt.

I would highly recommend both the Kinetico technology and

. for anyone interested in water treatment systems.

The local rainsoft dealer that sold me the system, Carpenter's, went out of business or sold the company. After repeated calls to the 1-800 number without return calls, i searched on angie's list & found 2 options. The first guy i called was going to charge $350 for maintenance. I fortunately got a call from this company who was servicing other Carpenter's clients & offered to the maintenance for $175K, sooner, and with 4 bags of free salt. So, i scheduled this appointment & was very satisified with the service.

About 9 years ago, I had a problem with iron in my well water at a former home. I did some research with various local companies advertising water softeners (most provide multiple different services related to water treatment) and then I eventually came across
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
and the crew at AWS. From the very first conversation I had with
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
, it was clear that his level of knowledge related to the subject matter of water treatment and his customer service ethic were both WELL above the level of his closest competitors. To me, those are two of the three legs of the 'sales triangle'. The last leg would be 'quality product'. It doesn't matter what you know or how nice you are if the product that you sell doesn't do the job.
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
took plenty of time to explain the Kinetico system that he was proposing to me, and since Kinetico was not a very well known name in the NC area, he went the extra step of putting me in touch with the factory and getting more detailed information for me about the technical specifics of the product that he proposed. In the end, I selected AWS for the job,
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
personally did the install, and I never looked back. The system performed flawlessly for the 6 years that I lived in the home and to the best of my knowledge, it is still working to this day.

About 6 months ago, I discovered that I had a problem at my current home with copper fitting corrosion on the PEX fittings in my plumbing system. Particularly on the hot water lines. I found this the hard way when two of the fittings above the ceiling began to leak within about 4 months of each other. The plumber who did the replacement mentioned that I should have the water tested because he had seen this type of corrosion before on acidic water systems. Sure enough, I went back and looked at the water test that we had done when purchasing the house (3 years ago) and there it was in black and white - ph of 4.8! That's about the same as really strong coffee or really weak wine. Either way, it is not suitable for a fluid flowing in pipes with copper fittings.

This time, there was no question about who to call - I ran into
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
while AWS was exhibiting at a local home and garden show. I mentioned the problem, and he pulled out a sheet that discussed acid water in detail, and listed several options for me. The simplest option was to install a Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) neutralizer. This was attractive due to low cost and other items, but the water at my home was VERY soft and VERY 'pure' in all tested categories. As a matter of fact, my only issue was low pH. A by-product of CaCO3 neutralization is that it adds hardness to the water and I couldn't get past that.
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
then suggested that I consider the system that we eventually installed - a soda ash injection system that meters the flow based on the amount of water being used by the household. He sent me several links to the
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
web site and we exchanged numerous emails concerning the detailed aspects of the system. This product would raise pH, but not add hardness to the water. When I was doing my final evaluation,
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
went so far as to make up some solutions of neutralized water with one using CaCO3 and one using Na2CO3 so I could sample them at my home (he used my water as the test solution and then neutralized it). In the end, I couldn't tell a difference between the feel/taste of the two, but the clincher was when we did a 'soap test' where we added a few drops of soap solution to each water type. The soda ash neutralized water continued to become soapy just like I would normally see when doing laundry. The calcium carbonate neutralized water basically formed a soap scum on top and hardly produced suds at all - the key indicator of water hardness!! At this point, I was convinced and we scheduled the job using the Na2CO3 process.

These days,
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
's office has grown and he doesn't to the installs himself any more, so being the picky customer that I am, I was a bit concerned about whether the person who did the work would do things in the same neat fashion that I was used to when working with
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
. No need for concern!
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
- the installer - did a FANTASTIC job. It was clear from start to finish that he took great pride in doing the job right, and doing it neatly. Right down to the final work site cleanup where he was in my crawl space wiping up water that I probably would have been completely fine if he had left in place. Once again, I am very happy with a job from AWS. These systems are not cheap, and
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
understands that when a customer is spending money like this that they have to have accurate and complete answers to any questions. He is great at getting things to the point where you just know that the job will go well, and that it will be successful in the end.

The system has been installed for about 5 days now. One nice by product is that I now know how much water I am using in the house due to the meter that was installed to drive the pump controller. The pH at my last sample was about 6.4, and I am tweaking the pump controller up slightly over time to shoot for a value of roughly 7.0 - 7.5.
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
is planning on another visit in the next week or so to inspect the work and do a more sensitive pH measurement, but I am pretty happy that things are going in the right direction now!

I have attached a few pictures of the final install. I'll just close and say that if you are looking for water treatment of ANY kind (softeners, reverse osmosis systems, neutralizers, chlorine/iron removal, sulfur removal, etc) you will be doing yourself a favor if you call
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
at AWS and hear what he has to say regarding how to solve your particular problem. I know who I'll call next time I have another issue!
- Randy O.

Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
crew was very courteous and professional. Given the fact that this was new years eve and the job was probably more complicated than they anticipated, I was pleased that the plumber brought in extra help to get the job done.
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
is an extremely fair man and I would highly recommend
Raleigh Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
to anyone looking for plumbing help.
