"I gave them a call. After about 4 days, I could make an appointment for inspection. After 4 days, the inspector checked my roof. After 4 days, I received the quote. After 4 days, they showed up on time and got the service done. After 4 days, I received ...more the bill. To me because I don't need to get the maintenance done right away, I can wait. I just make sure things get done right. But 4 day latency is not ok. Or maybe it's how roof business works. If I had needed it right away, I would have called someone else. But they did professionally. "

did a great job replacing my old roof roof and installing the new gutter with gutter guards. Before giving me an estimate, they insisted on meeting with me at my house to talk thru the details. The guys who did the work were ...more very polite and cleaned up behind themselves. They were diligent in finding all of the old nails from the old roof. Since my roof was so steep they insisted in hand nailing all of the shingles in
of using a nail gun. I think this made for a better installation. The top floor of my house is about 2000 sq.ft and they did the front removal in replacement the first day, and the back removal and replacement the second day.
I would definitely use them again, and recommend them to my friends. "

Expect to pay at least $5,000 to have your roof replaced. The precise amount could vary considerably because it depends on size, pitch and material type.
Angie's List In The Press
Raleigh Roofing Contractors Reviews
"Excellent. Professional all the way from the initial sales call through the installation and follow-up inquiries. Provided both a coupon price reduction and senior discount through Angie's List. Couldn't be more pleased with the entire experience.
"There were a couple of repairs needed during the warranty period. They were promptly taken care of.
On the other hand, there were a couple of leaks in the roof which were judged to be from "non standard" installation methods around vents by Mr.
's repair subcontractor. These were repaired but as I recall, ...more one of them was repaired at my expense. My memory is not so good on this, but I remember being annoyed by the situation. This is the cause of the B rating.
Later on, my roof developed another small leak from a tree branch falling on it. I called 2 repair people from the AList. One of them repaired the leak and the other one caulked the vents again. I was told by one these folks that "whoever installed your roof did a good job".
Note, the date is accurate only to the year, plus of minus one year. AList wants me to be more precise than is possible.
"Our contractor was very informative and helpful. He was in contact regularly, answered calls and questions and was good to work with. They got the job done within a few days, weather was an issue to complete quickly, and they cleaned up daily and efficiently.
The only thing that wasn't great was the crew they hired did not speak English ...more all that well and were not easy to talk to. They showed up twice on the wrong day and had the wrong information. They were very nice, but we could see that might be an issue. They are apparently no longer working with the company. We got a quote for more work with the company, since they did such a great job, and are waiting to start a new project hopefully.
They were also really great about allowing us to pay with our Insurance payment which did not come in a s quickly as we hoped. I'm not sure that is the norm, but we made payments and spoke to them and they were very nice to us. "
"I was initially impressed with the sales rep's presentation. It was extremely thorough and very explicit.
, the rep, did a great job. Answered every question before I had a
to ask it. It was clear he was representing a company he was proud of, and that meant a lot to me. The guarantees were persuasive ...more and reassuring, leaving me feeling protected. The workers arrived early each day and really hustled, like a well-oiled machine. My one gripe was fairly minor, and that was some damage done to the shrubs around the house. The plants will recover, and I can see how tricky it could be to protect everything perfectly, considering the work they were doing, but this is a company that justifies higher expectations. Overall, an excellent experience. "
"The estimate process was great. The company was very helpful and accommodating.
However, when the day came to do the repairs, a single person came to the house that was not able to communicate, due to employee not speaking or understanding English well. I was at work and my wife was home during the repairs. The employee can into the house so that ...more my wife could show him the leaks in the ceiling. When my wife tried to explain to him we wanted him to perform a moisture test (which was requested to be done during the repairs at an earlier date), he did not understand and when my wife just asked him to finish completing the work outside, he lingered downstairs in the house. This made my wife extremely uncomfortable. I do not think the employee was intentionally being non responsive; however, this is not the experience I expected based on the great level of service from the estimate and communicating with the company over the phone.
"I did a lot of research on Angie's List before selecting 3 roofers to come out and give us a quote.
Not only was CSR one of the highest rated, but they ended up giving us a VERY competitive quote... even beating out one other company that was going to charge a little more but only provide us with 25 year shingles. For less, we got a great ...more 50-year, architectural shingle roof. It looks great.
Of course, the warranty is only as good as the company behind it. If the company ceases to exist, then so does the warranty. CSR has been around for 30 years. The owner, Van Sterling, came out to present his proposal after his son had come out to do measurements, etc. So... looks like his son will take over the company and it should be around for quite a while. The shingles are by GAF, around forever and likely to remain so.
Van explained to us that the ridge vents we had were working in opposition to the roof fan. So, we took the roof fan out. Saving on electricity, the
of the fan, and resulting in a cooler attic too.
CSR does not use subcontractors. The crew of 7 who were here all work for them. Some for more than 10 years.
, the project manager, was here throughout the day making sure all got done to their standards. They even pack a microwave with the crew so everyone hangs around here for lunch rather than taking off for fast food somewhere and potentially being delayed on the return.
All of them were very professional. They tarped everything and didn't damage any of the plantings/shrubbery/etc. around the house. At the end of the day, they cleaned up so well the only thing that showed they were here was the beautiful new roof.
Would definitely hire again... in another 50 years when we need a new roof :-) "
