"Went very well. was very detailed oriented and willing to explain all issues. He even helped with providing ball park estimates of costs.

" is fantastic. He showed up early and started his inspection outside the home. When I arrived, we moved inside. All told, we spent about 4" hours at the home going through everything. I've used home inspectors 4 other times, and is by far the best inspector I've worked with. He knows his stuff.

Radon Detection

Radon is a colorless, odorless gas that occurs as a decay byproduct of uranium and thorium. Radon forms naturally in the environment, and low levels can be detected in soil, rock and ground water. Homeowners that inhale radon are at risk of lung cancer and even death.

Radon Testing reviews in Raleigh

did a good job on install. He has all the right tools, know how to use them. Was careful to not damage house.
I have a radon meter, it was reading consistent 8.0, after mitigation system installed, reading was .8, a decrease of a factor of 10 and well below the 4 recommended by the EPA. did two ...More day test with his much more expensive meter and reading was .4 so I am happy that problem was solved.
The only issue needs to work on is his paper work. I asked for a written contract. He supplied a boiler plate description of what might be done, but the price was not included with this. He said they do not include price in same paper work in his business.
I find this hard to believe. I never did get an actual written on paper price. But he did do the work for the price he quoted orally.
I really do not trust this way of doing business.
He also needed to be bugged to send the written receipt he promised. The receipt and the results of the test with his meter were sent and were professional, he just needs to be bugged..
All in all I would use him again. .

At first, seemed like they were a reputable company with knowledgeable and proactive home inspectors. We hired them to inspect a home we were under contract to buy. After the home inspection, they provided us with a seemingly thorough report of the house. It was 37 pages long and filled with pictures and information. Somehow, ...More they failed to find the most obvious and expensive problem with the house--a broken heat furnace. The report said that the furnace was in proper working order. As a result, we bought the house and quickly found out the furnace did not work when the gas was turned on and no heat came out of the air vents. After evaluation by 3 HVAC companies, we were told us we needed to replace the entire unit due to problems with the furnace (rust, insufficient duct work, and crack in the heat exchanger). All of these things can be seen with the naked eye without having to disassemble any part of the furnace. Their mistake cost us three weeks of living in a cold house and $3900. When we confronted about the problem (to their credit), they refunded us the cost of the home inspection. But the bottom line is if had done their job correctly, we could have negotiated a generous price reduction or we would not even have bought the house at all. We lost all our bargaining tools after closing. I understand a home inspector missing little things here and there but this is not the type of service your provider making any kind of mistakes. They missed a major problem and the end result was us getting screwed over. You can't return a bad house.

The overall experience was very smooth and effortless. Once I spoke to the inspector, we scheduled the inspection for the following Friday, and planned to meet at the property. After the inspection was completed, I received a copy by Monday, and the Radon results a couple of days later.
