Bank client wants money back from builder's loan

COMPLAINT: Michael Sweeney, Cary, N.C.

"I signed a builder's loan with Wells Fargo Bank in Raleigh [N.C.]. It had a nine-month locked interest rate, and I was told I'd have one float down to their best rate. I also was told I had to leave a $3,000 deposit for the loan that would be fully refundable if I closed with them. However, I didn't close with them because they were going to charge me the $3,000 for a different rate. I spoke to the branch manager, and he was very unhelpful."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want my $3,000 back."
