since I did not use his services beyond the estimate. I do, however, say that the work done by the craftsman who did the work was professsional is every way."

Revitalizing masonry and brick in a historic home

While searching for new homes, Brad Begle and his wife, Mary, instantly fell in love with the interior of a newly remodeled Victorian-era home in Lincoln Park. However, years of faulty repairs on the outside of the red-brick 1880s home had left the exterior in poor shape.

He agreed to come to my home the next morning at 9 a.m. to give me an estimate. He gave me the price, which I thought was reasonable, and agreed to to the job the same day. He left to get the matching bricks and returned about 2 hours later. Within 90 minutes, he was done. I have been putting this work off for 1 1/2 years (just wasn't sure who to call). I am very please with the work and wouldn't hesitate to use him again."

"Rather than returning the next day to remove the powder, which had been spread not only over the concrete but also scattered onto the house and brick, Dimitrios didn't return for at least 150 hours. I think he chose to go to another job. The heat index in the meantime was upwards of 100 degrees, and the heat bonded the powder to both the new and existing brick. The release agent he used was also spread poorly in some areas. To complicate matters, he used my powerwasher to blast off the bonded powder, which caused discolorations in addition to those caused by the powder and heat. Now, the concrete is 2 different colors, and some of the new brick was acid washed in the process of trying to clean up. He tried to use some of the tainted brick to rebuild the steps. He asked to be paid anyway. I bought all the materials, and I've done more work on the project than he has due to his negligence. I paid more than a fair price, and I'm left with unsatisfactory work."
