"I contacted
on a Wednesday requesting that grab bars be installed in our bathroom shower. He arrived Friday morning, calling first to say" he would be a little late. Two beautiful grab bars were installed within an hour. The work was done efficiently and there was no mess to clean up! The workers were professional and courteous and the price was right. I would definitely recommend this company.

"This company, under another name, has screwed so many people they were bought out by
and changed the name. United Healthcare said they used" Wheelchair Professionals and
was the local dealer. It's taken almost 6 months to get this wheelchair. I've been stuck with them. After not getting calls returned for months, I finally got one. I was supposed to have a removable cushion so I can get different ones as my spine worsens. They didn't tell me that, though - I found out on my own. They screwed up the sizing too. The seat was rocking back and forth, too, which is not what it was supposed to do. They said it was normal, though. I also asked them to adjust my seat, and the guy was beating on it and fighting with it to do so. It still rocked after that. A friend who builds cars looked at it and said the screws were loose. He said if I'd let that go, the whole thing would have fallen apart. Some of the screws had mud in them too. We went to adjust the chair and make it higher. There were a bunch of sharp edges under it and my hand flew up as we worked and sliced up my hand. It bled terribly. I had to go to the ER from the gash. It had to be treated as a wound because they were concerned about infection. After two weeks, someone was finally available to help and I finally got the company to come out to adjust my chair higher. Almost every screw was loose and I told them about that. They told me that they'd have to order a part for it. I also asked him to take the back pin off to see the battery. This guy lied and said he didn't know how. It was just him being lazy because you have to tug hard to do it. I started to They said they sent the complete chair out and didn't put it together. I checked with the manufacturer and they confirmed that. So I'm
the manufacturer. They also didn't give me a charge receipt I can use for taxes. They didn't charge my card before the end of the year either, since the driver didn't put the expiration date. This also means I can't change insurance companies this year. They have never given me a breakdown of my bill, either. This whole thing has been an absolute mess.

Dear Angie: Where can I get professional advice about making our home accessible for the disabled? We need a ramp with a railing so someone can get from the street to our front door. — Sidney L., Silver Spring, Maryland

Handicap Equipment reviews in Raleigh

Owner was quite professional, came in a timely manner, gave me suggestions as to placement of grab bars as well as another location in bathroom where a grab bar may allow me to get in and out of my bath tub. He quoted me the price for grab bars on the phone and I did not need a free consultation- it would have been time wasted for all when I knew my basic requirements. He brought several different sizes of grab bars to help in the decision-making process

Excellent service, on time for appointment, efficiently & accurately installed. Met time he estimated to complete the job.

the A+ Stairlift Company owner could not have been more gracious, polite, knowledgeable. He took a great deal of time explaining. No pressure when we were making a decision.

I've been using them for almost 3 years. Scheduling is very easy and they will come out the next day or go to the location. I trust them and will continue to go back with them. Everyone is very good and I would recommend them.

The two men who installed our chairlift were professional and did the job in a timely manner. The customer service office was very helpful and the initial salesperson did an excellent job of explaining the installation process and taking the required measurements for the customized track.

Be careful when choosing this company. I installed this chair for my mother in my home. On Friday Nov. 28th the chair stopped working. I called and the answering service told me that they were not in until Monday, this is unacceptable!! In desperation I called the salesperson who always said before purchasing "call me anytime if any problems" He was clearly put out and said that he would call the office in the morning and call me back. No call, not even the courtesy to say he tried but could not help. Needless to say mom spent the entire weekend upstairs, unable to get down my stairs. This is an expensive product. On Monday morning 12/01 I called and the person was rude!! (I was very upset) The serviceman did fix the chair later in the day.

- christina D.

They are unresponsive when contacting them. I asked to speak to the manager and how he came to that dollar amount and has not returned my phone call.
- Mary Beth Z.

They did sell them there but he told me I would be able to get a better price if I purchased it on Amazon. He told me they could come out and put it together as well as show me how to use it after I had purchased it on Amazon. Needless to say I was very impressed with it. He came out and called when he was on his way as I had requested. He was very nice. He put the chair together and showed me how to use it.
