Energy Audit Reviews in Raleigh

came over on time and set up his equipment. While doing so, he asked me if there was any particular issue that inspired me to request an energy audit. I informed him that my house historically has humidity problems sufficient that I normally run a dehumidifier inside during the summer, in addition to the air conditioning.
Once his equipment was set up,
started his testing. He inspected the interior, attic, exterior, and crawlspace.
When it was done, he informed me that there were (unsurprisingly) a lot of air leaks in my house, and showed me the IR images showing where air was being drawn in. He promised a report within a week as he was taking down his equipment.
About a week later, I got his report. Since he had mentioned some options while discussing the issues, I asked him for more detailed estimates for two of the options, which he provided promptly. I had noticed a couple of other reviews discussing that they chose cheaper options from those
offered, and were not as happy as they expected to be with the results, so I asked
about the relative benefits of each of the options he provided. I was satisfied with his explanation -- while he did not push heavily toward 'upselling' me to the more expensive options, he did explain how it was better than the others.

IES was fantastic from fist contact through project completion.
came out for the initial consult and really impressed me with his knowledge. I was also very happy that he was willing to talk technical with me. I have some experience and like to talk details, but not all providers are willing to do that.
After getting our quote and making a decision to move forward,
stepped in as the project manager. She was a pleasure to work with - knowledgeable, friendly, and responsive to all my questions. She set us up with an appointment for the project and let us know approximate timing through the course of the 2-day project. Since we were replacing HVAC ducts, there would be times when the A/C wasn't running. Plus we would need to run the fan continuously while the materials in the crawl space cured. It was very nice going into the project with accurate expectations.
The crew that did the work was also wonderful. They arrived on time and did high-quality work. As someone who's pretty handy, I was pleased with their work.
Overall, we've been thrilled with the sealed crawl space. We no longer have moisture or mold problems. As a bonus, the house appears to be more energy efficient. We have another job spec'd out with IES for our attic spaces, and we'll have them out as soon as we have the other constraints completed.

Energy Audit reviews in Raleigh

It went very well. The tech showed up pretty much on schedule. Performed the audit and explained his process as he went. We were send a written report several days later with the audit information and assessment. We also got a quote for services to address the recommended improvements for energy efficiencies.
I was really impressed because I had originally purchased as an AngiesList deal and the time had expired on my coupon. The honored the coupon with no problem or extra charges and performed the work in a timely professional manner.
We are considering the quotes and will undertake some of the projects ourselves.

Raleigh Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
was very responsive to setup the appointment and provide the audit. He was very thorough in his explanation of what was discovered and provided a cost estimate for an improvement to our energy footprint. I appreciate that he is honest in the information provided and the estimate is provided with no pressure to purchase additional services.

Bought service via the big deal on angies list. Called up for an appointment a few days later. No hastle in scheduling. Provider came by at the scheduled time and quickly made their way around the house. I walked along and asked various questions as he performed his audit. I was more interested in the energy efficiency questions such as insulation and sealing, but the provider seemed more interested in talking about air quality issues such as dust and possible mold problems. After the audit we did a review of his findings and he said he would send a written report via email a few days later.

Received a detailed written report including pictures a few days later. Decided after the audit not to perform any follow up actions .

Purchased Big Deal on Angie's List for
Raleigh Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
to do a complete Attic Energy and Ventilation Inspection, cost was $49. After a little back and forth to setup the appointment, the owner of the company,
Raleigh Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
, did come out. He was nice and professional, however he basically just did what I would consider the same type of thing that would occur in an onsite estimate for this type of work, something typically free and not $49. The Big Deal detailed out some specifics they would do including "
Raleigh Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
will install R-30
Raleigh Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
insulation over access cover (maximum two) and will re-secure any existing baffles in the attic over intake vents, if needed", however no insulation was added over access covers despite us seeing several access doors w/o insulation, and the baffles were never mentioned and I was with the person the whole time. The big output of this was supposed to be a detailed assessment report of your attic insulation and home ventilation with a quote for work suggested to address issues. The specifics in the Bid Deal were: "
Raleigh Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
will enter the attic and do a complete inspection to include the following: ?Measure the depth of insulation ?Calculate the R value you currently have in attic ?Calculate the additional R value needed to meet North
Raleigh Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
Building Codes ?Recommend the amount required to meet the Department Of Energy ?Inspect crawl space ?Recommend adding or re-attaching the existing baffles ?Inspect Bathroom fans, exhaust pipes, can lights, for proper installation ?Inspect the under side of roof deck for water damage ?Inspect exhaust vents to assure they meet code and are not blocked ?Inspect intake vents to assure they meet code and are not blocked ?Calculate ventilation to meet 1/300 min code ?Provide a written inspection report ?Provide a written estimate on any additional work needed" It has been two months since the onsite meeting, and I have not heard from this company since. No report, no follow-up saying the report is coming, absolutely nothing. I think this whole thing was a scam to collect X times $49 from the host of people that responded to the "Big Deal". The only reason I am not giving this company an "F" is they did come out and the guy was nice but in the scope of getting what I paid for, total fail. Angie's List needs to arbitrate refunds in this type of situation as this is obviously not an isolated incident with this provider. Several other reviewers describe the same experience with this "Big Deal" which was really a "Big Flop".
- Randall J.

Arrived ten minutes later than specific appointment time but had called to notify of delay. Neat and clean. Very honest- did not try to sell things not needed. Explained alternative insulations in thorough manner. A good price for a qualified review of a portion of the home often ignored until leaks or other issues occur.
