It's a big practice. So that if he's not available and its an emergency you can always see somebody in that practice. I've been going to him for years because I trust him. He did eye surgery on me and he's still following it two years later. He is very conscientious. The office staff is friendly, they're punctual.

I think he is very caring and knowledgeable. He was recommended by my optometrist so I made an appointment. I had high eye pressure because of a medication that I was on and he didn?t just throw a medication at me, he made me come back regularly so he could watch the problem. I had a horrible eye infection on New Year?s so I called their office where they had someone on call. The doctor told me what to do for the night and told me to make an appointment first thing in the morning. One of the doctors is a painter and the office is beautifully decorated with his landscape paintings. Dr.
is very gentle.

My eyeglass doctor recommended him. He is a specialist and is very thorough. They have all the latest and most modern equipment. I feel very confident that I am in good hands and there isn't any problem that would arise that he couldn't take care of. If your appointment is at 2 pm he will walk in at that time.

Dr.
Providence Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
saw me to determine the extent the fall did to my eye. She stayed late into the evening making sure I was comfortable and settled into my room. She was very supportive with all of the bad news I was receiving, and very helpful explaining all of my meds for my recovery. Even when was seeing other specialist, she keep checking on me throughout my recovery.

I contacted the

Island Eye Institute with symptoms that I recognized as a corneal ulcer. I saw Dr.
Providence Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
, and he became my primary physician there over the course of two months. He initially suspected that my contact lenses were to blame, so I stopped wearing them while treating the ulcer with antibiotic drops. The ulcer cleared up and I went back to the contacts, only to have another one start. We went through the same course of treatment again, with the ulcer clearing up quickly. But then it happened in the other eye, while I was not wearing contacts. Dr.

was baffled. He tried having me use bacitracin on my eyelids, even though he didn't suspect that was the cause. Again, the ulcer cleared up fairly quickly, but all in all I ended up having about six or seven of these, which, though treatable, are very serious and can lead to complications. Dr.

seemed to think it was an inexplicable case resulting from "fatigue" and "hormonal changes" related to the fact that I had a new baby at the time. However, nothing like this had happened when my son was an infant. The staff had taken a full medical history when I first arrived, and it should have been clear from looking at my record that the only NEW thing on it was the fact that I was taking an oral contraceptive. I even mentioned a few times that I was "on the pill," but Dr.

didn't really pay attention. However, I took it upon myself to do some internet research and found that a side effect of birth control pills is dry eye. Any change in the composition of the tears, or a reduction in tears, can lead to possible complications, including corneal ulcers. I decided to stop taking the pills, and sure enough, the ulcers stopped within about a week. While I feel that I received excellent and compassionate care for my condition, and while I appreciated the courtesy and professionalism of the staff (it is a very large operation), I do not feel that Dr.

gave adequate thought to getting to the bottom of my condition. I had to figure it out for myself that contraceptives can lead to dry eye conditions--and this was something that my ob-gyn confirmed immediately when I discussed it with her. Why didn't the OPTHALMOLOGIST, who happens to specialize in corneal conditions, know to look for medications that might have side effects relating to the eyes??? I think that my situation could have been cleared up much sooner (and cost me less money, pain, and hassles) had Dr.

paid more attention to my chart from the beginning.
