"This was not a happy experience. The movers took 45 minutes to get to our house in the morning, which we felt was an excessively long time to make the trip from
Providence Movers Provider Name Locked
to the East Side. Almost from the beginning, there was complaining and arguing among the men. They billed themselves as piano movers, but the lead man repeatedly said to us that he didn't think he could get the piano out (even though it had been brought UP without trouble in the first place). He was also convinced that a large loveseat could not come out, and he and the three other guys spent a good hour fussing and fuming and finally forcing it out a window (although it had been brought UP through the stairwell). They ended up leaving a large bookcase that they insisted could not be moved down, even though my husband and I had moved it up ourselves. The "driver" (manager of the move) was not a good leader. He argued repeatedly with the men and belittled them. There was a lot of shouting, and we heard a number of private complaints from the workers. This did NOT help productivity. We saw a lot of standing around, and in general these guys didn't hustle. By midday, the truck was filling up, and it looked like they wouldn't be able to take everything. The driver said that he would have to make two trips. We said absolutely not, and that we would prefer that they focus on putting the heaviest and bulkiest items in the truck; we would find a way to move the remaining items ourselves. My husband specified that they should take his exercise bench and weights. In the end, they took the bench, but left the weights. They brought tiny, featherweight boxes of Christmas ornaments and a junky piece of child's plastic outdoor furniture, but left a large

of clothes and other heavier boxes. At the new house, we discovered that the knob had been broken on the washer, but placed back carefully to make it look like it was intact. They broke an antique chair. They did not re-staple the fabric from the loveseat (they had to remove a leg to get it out of the window) and one of the guys got a staple in his hand when they moved it in. They stacked heavy boxes of books on top of boxes clearly labeled "Fragile" (luckily nothing broke). Worst of all, they took apart the frame of our air mattress, but didn't tell us they had done so and neglected to return the hardware. So we didn't have a bed at all the first night. The stuff was finally found the next day and returned to us. The absolute worst part of all of this was my husband's experience with one of the owners, Bill

. When he called to outline a list of complaints (and to ask about the missing items), he hit a wall of resistance.

was rude and defensive, interrupting constantly and refusing to listen. He called my husband "irate" and "ignorant." It was a good hour on the phone before he calmed down and agreed to find and return the missing things. This was no way to treat a customer.

"My wife and I contracted with
Providence Movers Provider Name Locked
to move our belongings from across the country. Central to our choice of
Providence Movers Provider Name Locked
was the verbal promise that, though we did not yet have a destination address, our belongings would immediately be moved to a storage facility in near our new state where they would arrive within 7 days and be stored until we contacted
Providence Movers Provider Name Locked
with a delivery address. At that point, we were informed that we should expect delivery within 2-3 days.
Providence Movers Provider Name Locked
's website repeatedly claims a guarantee on time delivery. Our trust was bolstered by the frequently repeated claim that
Providence Movers Provider Name Locked
worked with another company, a trusted brand. The Smart Vaults were delivered to our old home and we loaded them with our things. They were picked up with renewed verbal promises that they would immediately be shipped to the destination state. A week later we contacted
Providence Movers Provider Name Locked
with the destination address to request delivery, expecting delivery within 2-3 days. It turned out that the vaults had never left our old home state. This week delay meant that we had to sleep in a bare apartment, cancel a week of vacation and miss several commitments, including graduations. Beyond the canceled vacation, which is invaluable, we accrued additional expenses in gas, food and lodging associated with the delay. Given the failure to provide a basic aspect of the contracted service, timely delivery, we felt that full payment of $3284 was unfair. After protracted discussion with management we reached an impasse and were offered an insulting $50 off. In defending their service
Providence Movers Provider Name Locked
representatives point to one specific line of an email which includes an incorrect storage date that was never discussed on a confirmation form that was never signed.
Providence Movers Provider Name Locked
did not produce what they verbally represented and I do not think any reasonably diligent customer could have anticipated this problem. We have been forced to pay in full to reclaim our belongings, but are disgusted with the dishonest service.

"On October 2, one of the original movers delivered the dresser to my house. It was in the back of his personal vehicle. It was not covered with any protective blankets during transport. As the move was rolling the dresser up the driveway, the main drawer of the dresser fell out and landed on the cement. The surfaces of the two drawer knobs were sheared off. The

of the drawer was also cracked. Upon further inspection, the repair made to the original damage was shoddy at best. During the initial unloading on September 5, 2007, the frame of the dresser was cracked and a knob on a different drawer had been damaged. It seems that
Providence Movers Provider Name Locked
simply tried to glue the frame back together and then painted over the damage with a shade of paint that did not even match the actual color of the dresser. No attempt was made to repair the damaged knob. I called Mr.
Providence Movers Provider Name Locked
on October 3, 2007, to make my credit card payment and discuss with him how unhappy I was with the condition of my dresser. I asked if he was willing to make any adjustment to my moving fee of $575.00. He stated that he could only discount the fee by $25.00. I relayed my experience with Mr.

and
Providence Movers Provider Name Locked
to the Better Business Bureau to express my complete disappointment with the quality of service that was provided to me. The two men that moved my household items seemed completely incompetent and I relayed that information to Mr.
Providence Movers Provider Name Locked
during the actual move. Several of my belongings were damaged during the move. An attempt to repair my damaged dresser was unacceptable. The fact that the dresser was damaged a second time seems to attest to the quality of employees that Mr.

chooses to hire. The fact that Mr.
Providence Movers Provider Name Locked
was not willing to offer anything other than a $25.00 concession to a consumer that complained multiple times about the service received and that used his service three times in three years is deplorable. The Better Business Bureau of Fort Worth made several attempts to contact Mr.
