Remodeling reviews in Providence

This was a large upmarket residential renovation totaling well over $100,000. The general contractor,
Providence Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
did an excellent job. The project took approximately 4 months from start to finish. It was directly managed by company owner
Providence Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
. This man was extremely detail and quality oriented and his expert crew worked hard to meet his (and our) expectations to make sure every aspect of the project was done right. If, on the rare occasion it wasn't done right, it was done over. We provided most of the design and high-end finish materials on the interior, while
Providence Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
provided all of the labor and structural materials necessary. This arrangement worked well for both of us. Other than holidays and weekends the crew showed up virtually every workday for 4 months straight. Unbelievable! We are not new to home renovation and have seen the good, the bad and the ugly of the general contracting world. We were prepared to struggle with such a large renovation, but
Providence Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
came thru as one of the most professional operations I have ever observed. When the rare problem came up, it always came with a solution attached. Since we were living in the house with 3 noisy dogs during the entire project, consideration on everybody's part was essential. The crew almost always took adequate time out at the end of each work day to clean up the site understanding it was somebody's home. My experience has not always been good in this regard. Since time is money in the contracting world, the daily clean-up often gets the short shrift. Not with this company. The only part of the huge project not done by
Providence Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
was the new heating system, otherwise he did everything necessary to take a very dated and worn 1972 colonial (needing EVERYTHING) and make its interior shine like 2014. We could have hired a less expensive contractor (be aware
Providence Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
is not the cheap seats), and some of the extras were a little more expensive than expected. But value is always the intersection of price and quality. In this case, we achieved the highest value we could have ever expected. Thank you Angie's List!!

Plumber arrived exactly on time. I had purchased the wrong type of replacement disposal. He was able to get one that day and install it. Very efficient. Expensive but I appreciated the excellent service. I would call

again for plumbing service.

The sad part is I originally hired
Providence Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
. Remodel to do a quick remodel job on a bathroom in my house and they did a fantastic job. So good in fact that I hired them to do a much larger bathroom remodel in our house.
After signing off on the estimate in late May, I was told the earliest he could get it done was in late August. August came and went and I was asked if he could push it off until Early October which I relented on. (Note that specific dates were never used, just generalities)
Early October came and went without a phone call. After leaving him multiple voicemails and an email I finally received an email on October 15th that he couldn't do the job for us.
So at this point I've waited five months to be told by
Providence Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
that he couldn't do this job.
Now I have to find someone else on the 15th of October. Extremely frustrating.

Everything about this purchase was unsatisfactory.
1) I called to find out if they had remnants for sale and asked where they were located and verified hours. I drove (20+ minutes) and arrived to find the remnant yard (area behind the back of the store) virtually under water. It had rained all morning and there were deep puddles. Obviously, I don't expect them to have perfect drainage but it would seem reasonable that the person who answered the phone when I called to make my inquiry would mention that the slabs were on view outside. (I, naively, had expected them to be in a warehouse.) When I arrived I was told it would be impossible to walk through the 3-4 inches of water pooled outside. They told me to come back on a sunnier day. No apology.
2) I returned to look at remnants with my husband. No one was particularly interested in offering suggestions, advice, or help. It's very hard to know what a piece of granite looks like when it is standing sideways with other huge pieces in front and behind. There is no way to actually get a good look at anything. Frustrating but no pictures, samples, or help. The woman who helped us was pleasant but not particularly interested.
3) Chose a piece and paid a 50% deposit.
4) Finally to make an appointment to get a template cut. (Time gap because of death in the family and constant travel) Rep came out and measured and said the countertop would be ready in about 2 weeks.
5) After 3 weeks I called and asked where the countertop was and was told it was scheduled for installation in 4 days but the appt would be cancelled if I didn't pay the balance. Curious. No one had called me to say that I was scheduled and no one had asked me for the balance. I called back the next day with a CC. I mentioned that I was wondering how they were going to cut out the sink hole since they had not asked for the sink when they were at my house. The CSR said the rep should have asked for it so that the cutting could be done in the workroom. She warned that it would be dusty if they did the work at my house. She wanted me to drive the sink to their work site (another town 30 minutes away). I said "no, I don't have the time. I'll live with the dust". Some 20 minutes later another CSR from
Providence Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
called to say that my countertop installation had been scheduled and that they needed my CC. I explained that I had just been through this. I had one more call asking for the same info. No one there knows what anyone else is doing. Either that, or the person who handles the bookkeeping doesn't keep records of what she's doing.
6) When the countertop was delivered I was not home so I couldn't monitor the installation. My husband was there but not involved.
7) The front

of the countertop was very nicely finished except that there was a 1/4" diameter chunk missing from the left front corner and the back

looked as if it had been cut with a jagged saw and the left and right borders were not straight. I called the company to complain and they sent a repair crew a few days later. I was given a 2 hour work window and they arrived 15 minutes after the end of that time. I realize that lifting granite is hard work but there is no excuse for anyone looking as ragged and unprofessional as this crew. (Actually, 2 sat in the truck while 1 worked. ) His pants were torn and his t shirt was dirty, He filled in the gaps with a rust colored putty, left scraps on the floor, a razor on the sink, and

on the countertop.
8) No one from the company ever called to see if the job had been completed or fixed. No one is service oriented. No one is pleasant. No one is thorough. No one cares.
9) In total we spent over $576 for this single vanity countertop. It will never look really finished because the jagged edges could not be corrected. However, I had no recourse because they had all my $ in advance.
10) We worked with a tile supplier, a glass shower door supplier/installer, a carpenter, and an electrician for this job. All were courteous, helpful, pleasant, and clean EXCEPT for

this company was good;
Providence Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
gave me a good layout of my kitchen so the price of 50 dollars was well worth it; i would have prefered something three-dimensional and in color so i could visualize it more clearly;
i have not decided who will do the actual job yet; i am looking into several avenues since my budget is small and most places want to spend more than i am able to at this juncture and in this condo. but overall a good rating

It went very well overall.

is a meticulous worker. He usually works by himself on smaller projects and wants to get it done right. The whole process took about 2 weeks. He offered his advice when I asked for it, compared notes on what I liked and wanted, and was able to find less expensive products of the same things I found in store--often of greater quality. It took a little bit longer than some contractors but he got it done right for a great price. He was honest and clear about his work and his charges were fantastic comparatively.

Owner Rouben Balagian was very responsive to my needs for my old house and was able to find a solution to help accomplish much more than was expected at the time of the original contract for the exterior paint work.

was wonderful! He arrived right on time, walked through the house with us, gave us an approximation as to what the repairs would be and offered a formal estimation for the work, if we needed it at this time. He did not charge us for the drive from

, and he was very kind, caring, attentive and detail oriented as he walked through the entire house with us and told us what he was seeing, and what needed to be done. He even told us what needed to be done now, and what could wait if need be. He gave us over an hour of his time. I would surely use

I recently purchased my first home, a three unit apartment in
Providence Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
. The house was built in 1910 and needed a lot work. I interviewed five contractors and felt immediately comfortable with Rich and his crew. He offered me the most reasonable deal for what turned out to be high quality service. The house itself was a challenge. Settling and uneven floors, doors and ceilings made each project unique and detail intensive. Rich and his crew put a great looking kitchen together seamlessly. The countertops were painstakingly leveled and custom made and installed in my pantry. The overall quality was excellent. Rich and his team also installed laminate flooring in my living room and, again, focused on the details. Seamless and well matched mouldings ring the room and speak to the crew's professionalism. Just as important as quality work is a quality relationship. Recently, a water leak rained down from an old pipe on the second floor. Rich gave me the advice I needed to fix the problem (for $20!, thank god) instead of Rotor Rooters $1,000 estimate. As a new homeowner I was afraid of getting fleeced by one of hundreds of contractors. Rich offered options, advice, and helped my find a plan that was right for my home and my budget. Not only is Rich easy to work with, his crew is respectful and professional, specifically Bill, the cabinet and counter maestro. Before finalizing a deal with someone, speak with Rich and see what he and

have to offer.

They scraped the entire 4000 square foot house (two stories) primed and painted it with great attention to detail. Removed all the deteriorating coating on foundation (50'x26') and recoated with proper material. Awesome Job. Great price. **UPDATE** One year later it still looks good. I found a relatively small, out of the way area that had been primed but not painted. I called Joy (Yovanni) and he and his crew came and painted it free without any questions within a few weeks. Great service, honest guy.
