"Everything went very well and my wife and family used the membership a few times a week on average. We elected to pay for a two year membership in full in advance" approximately $2400. After about 6 months our family living situation changed and we moved to the far northwest corner of Waukesha County. We wanted to pay our cancellation fee and end our membership due to the far drive. With the zoo interchange detour it takes 50 minutes to get to the far south end of New Berlin. We are certainly a few miles within the 40 mile radius and are obligated to pay the $200 PER MEMBER early cancellation fee. So its now the beginning of October and we closed on our house back in May. We advised Amber of our move back in June and she told my wife that
is the only one that can provide us with our refund. My wife approached
at the club and mentioned our move and
had the audacity to tell her "Oh you will make the drive because there is no where in your area that has as good of daycare as us." Actually we won't make the drive
because our three youngest children are the ages 1, 2, and 4 and spending nearly 2 hours in the car to go the gym is far too much for our busy lifestyle. A little compassion would have been appreciated. We never had any objection to the cancellation fee - even though they are eager to throw the book at us when holding us to our contractual agreement. But here is where our complaint is; its been three months and my wife has made several calls to Amber regarding the processing of our refund and has made three correspondences to
regarding the same thing. Amber has responded to each call or email and continues to push it to
, who apparently is the only one that can process our refund and who has NOT responded to a single phone call or email. We have been waiting for 2 weeks now since our last email to Amber and
. Its been over three months since providing them with our notice to cancel. We just want our money back and would like to move on. What ever happened to good customer service these days? Overall, the facilities are nice. You probably won't use your membership at all during the nice summer months, but you'll get good use from it during the long winter. Its a nice environment, but apparently the people at the top are very slow to move if you have a problem with something, especially if it involves having some compassion for refunding a families' money after they move.

"Shapes is a ladies-only facility with all the bells and whistles-- workout equipment (they just added some TRX training equipment), a nice variety of classes (everything" from
, to strength training to corebar to yoga to Pound). They also have a cycle room and a pool for pool classes. Treadmills and elliptical machines are available. There is never a wait for any of the machines. There is a hot tub, a steam room, and dry sauna as well. Lockers are available for daily use. The facility is clean ad well maintained. Personal training is available for an extra charge, as well as massages. There's a juice bar there, but I've never used it. The front desk staff knows everyone by name and the instructors are awesome. The club was purchased almost 2 years ago by
, who are very hands-on and always trying to improve things for their customers. They offer a new type of class called Red Warrior that is a blend of martial arts and boot camp that is fun and a different type of workout from the norm. The only suggestion that I would make is to have someone knowledgeable watch the machines to make sure that you are using them correctly. Having been a workout fiend for years, I pretty much have a handle on it, but some newbies could use the help. I have never had a problem with the financial side of this business, but I always renew in full instead of paying monthly. I think if you pay monthly, it's handled by an outside company and I don't know how good that company is. I have used this facility heavily for many years (like 4 to 5 times per week) and I just love it!

Fitness Center reviews in Providence

The parking is horrible at this location. The equipment is packed in and doesn't give space to feel comfortable walking around the room.

This review is for the Boy Scout Drive location, I can't speak to other locations. I went in and spoke to a girl at the front desk about signing him up. She gave me the prices and student rate. Never did she mention that he can't come in alone. So I asked, and was assured he could come in by himself and work out. This was very important and the only reason I was signing him up, so he could walk there after school. I told her I'd talk to him about it, and as a parent I wanted to be sure he was committed before signing anything. A couple of days later I went back in, after speaking to my son. I spoke with two other people at the desk, we went over the pricing again, and again I asked if he could come in on his own. Again, I was told "yes, no problem!!" Well, the first day he went he walked in, scanned his ID and worked out. All was well, and good. The second day he went back, scanned his ID, and was told he cannot workout with someone who is 18 or older. He persisted that he came in yesterday, and that I was told he could. The manger came out and said NO. I was furious needless to say and went up there immediately. The very kind gentleman who signed him up was there. Relieved, I told him what happened,. He seemed confused and told me it shouldn't be an issue. Then a young boy walked in, scanned his ID and was asked how old he was. TWELVE was the answer and he sauntered in. Then another guy went into the computer and told me is it not an issue. So now we are up to FOUR people telling me his age is not a problem. With that he goes to speak to his manager, the same girl who told my son he can't come in. She told me no, then turned to the guy who signed us up and asked where he heard I could do that. I couldn't believe it - is this not YOUR STAFF? Are you not the front line desk manager? Why do NONE of the people you supervise know this policy and why are you blaming THEM? I pointed out that a 12 year old just walked in and she said, "well he should be allowed". Needless to say, I called the regional manager and another manager and I have receive no calls back. The gym itself is not too bad, but the customer service and management is atrocious. They have numerous unresolved complaints on the BBB for billing issues. To date, I haven't received a copy of my contract or ever signed a waiver - but be sure I'm being billed! That part of their system seems to work just fine.

Brought the broken TV entertainment system to managements attention when they did no want to take the I initiative themselves. I was advised it could take up to 5 weeks to fix. This is unacceptable ! Most gyms have TVs built right into the equipment, not this gym. You have to have an FM radio receiver to hear the audio from separate TVs suspended from the ceiling. Technology from the 1980's. Join another gym, this place stinks!

I go there a lot. They're good at fixing the machines when they need to be fixed. They're prompt on that. The towel service and sometimes they're out of towels. If they're going to have towels, they should have them every time. I've been using them for about six years. The location of the facility is nice. I have a great deal with them. Not everybody has that deal.

I searched far and wide for a good gym in
Providence Fitness Centers Provider Name Locked
County. I tried all of the usual overcrowded and dirty mega gyms with their long term contracts and broken equipment. I almost gave up when I found, by accident, the perfect local gym. I have worked out for years at dozens of gyms in several states; and I enjoy my time at

I'm a Silver Sneakers member (Medicare) so I don't pay for my membership. However I did pay for personal training. Their training costs are extremely reasonable, about half of what I was paying at another national chain of gyms. However, my training experience wasn't cut in half. My trainer is highly qualified, is working with my medical limitations, and has made my sessions challenging (which is how I requested them to be). |Let me add that I recently moved from

Providence Fitness Centers Provider Name Locked
has been life-changing. I had never been able to stick with any kind of fitness program, though it was recommended by my doctor to deal with my medical issues. I wasn't sure if
Providence Fitness Centers Provider Name Locked
would work out, when so many other attempts had fizzled out quickly, but after my very first session I realized this was something different. I went in, talked with the owner,
Providence Fitness Centers Provider Name Locked
, and had my first workout - I left thinking "wow, that was FUN!"
I've now been going for a few years - if you had told me I would stick with it so long before I started, I would have called you a liar. I I have never felt healthier, stronger, or better mentally. It has seriously been life-changing, and I find myself telling everyone about the exceptional experience I have had there.
The workout programs are customized according to my personal needs and challenges, and the small-group setting means there's a group of terrific people working out at the same time, always supporting and encouraging each other. The trainers and the other clients are so welcoming and fun to be with, it's like a social hour with health benefits!

Hi, I like this gym, but regardless of which amenities you use, you will be paying as if you are using everything. For example, I only use the weights, and cardio equipment, but yet my membership is around $100/month. I don't use the pools or outside facilities. The location of this gym in relation to where I live is great, so that's good when it's snowing (not very far to drive).
I do feel as if more money should be put back into the gym. There have been times when the gym seemed a little unkept with piles of debris or things put off in the corners, and some of the equipment doesn't seem that well maintained. The gym doesn't have a ton of options either when it comes to the weight machines. Some of the most basic pieces of equipment that you would expect to see in a gym are not there, however, the gym has a lot of just different types of work-out pieces, so it is very versatile, in that respect.
It is a rather big gym and it is never super busy. I guess due to the high membership prices, but it is nice to work-out at a place where you don't feel like you are in a huge crowd. The clientele that works out at this gym are more professional, so that's nice too.
The spin room is really good and big, however, sometimes getting the instructors to turn on the fans are an issue--not sure why.
I wish my membership wasn't so costly, but there are not that many gym options in the
