is very knowledgeable, and all the equipment is up to date. This is a fine practice to patronize if you want traditional, high-tech, doctor-knows-best treatment. But if you are inclined toward caution about medical interventions, or if you like a healthcare provider who treats you as a decision-making partner, be forewarned: Dr.

isn't terrible on these dimensions, but I've experienced better. On every visit, I've been pressured to have more x-rays than I would like, and although the staff does ultimately accept "no" for an answer, they scold you a bit first. I've also felt pressured to undertake expensive and potentially painful procedures such as gum grafts. Perhaps I will need them eventually, but I have refused so far, have pursued good oral hygiene (floss, brush regularly, etc.), and have yet to see any adverse consequences. It's always hard to know when a healthcare provider is over-treating versus being appropriately cautious; but I'm a pretty well-informed consumer, and Dr.

's tendency to lecture rather than discuss has left me thinking that I should find another dentist -- despite my great confidence that his technical skills are as good as they come."
