"They showed up when they said they would; they reviewed the project and quoted a price for everything on the spot. When it was time to do the work, they showed up when they said they would; they did everything that had been discussed and agreed to; they cleaned up after the job was done. Considering some of the contractors we've met, this was a very refreshing experience."

"Work took 5 months. It started in November and ended in April (mostly due to rainy/cold weather). Poor workmanship was not checked. Problems included unpainted molding installation, roof leak, poorly flashed chimney, poorly flashed misc areas, roof vent and soffit were wavy/not straight, hundreds of nails around house foundation, difficult communication, general sloppy appearance. To Cliff's credit, I provided photos to Cliff and the foreman on the job was fired. Cliff brought another crew in and repaired much of the problematic work for free. Despite his agreement to perform the work--the last of the work has never been completed (tenants stained ceiling, tenants unpainted trim.) "

Providence General Contractors Reviews

"It took several months for
Providence General Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his ever-revolving crews of migrant workers to complete my very
Providence General Contractors Provider Name Locked
job, and it was done poorly. Among other things, they got white paint on a new dark carpet, installed a window sill that was an inch higher at one end than the other, and installed windows so poorly that they had to be reset. He would repeatedly no-show when I had taken off work to be home, or call and cancel at the last minute. Eventually, after I badgered him enough, they did fix the windowsill and reset one of the windows. However, he received payment from my condo association for other work which he never actually completed, and then stopped returning their phone calls; they are now pursuing legal action against him. Run, don't walk, away from this one."

and his partner came for an estimate the day after I called them. Very friendly. They began work four days later and finished in a day. They came back when I got home from work to talk about the work and to see another job."

"I could not stress this any more: do not hire this man! A very nice guy but a complete inability to organize and manage a job. This was supposed to be done in three months. It started in February of 2006 and was supposed to be done in June of 2006. I fired him on April 30th of 2007 (14 months later). After receiving a stop work order from the

Building Department in March of 2006 I should have known that he was incompetent. Without going through the horrific details all I can say is save yourself the headache!"

"Generally we do all of our own remodeling, but in this case there were too many complexities involved with a kitchen remodel...and we didn't want to be without a kitchen for 4 months! Overall it went very well and we're thrilled with the work. We picked
Providence General Contractors Provider Name Locked
because we liked his design sense and he seemed to be a good communicator right from the start. His estimate was the highest of all those we got (5 in all), but we figured you get what you pay for. Mostly, we didn't want to get sucked in by a low-ball estimate so playing it this way seemed smart.

did a fine job, considering our house is 100 years old! His subcontractors were all professionals, and in particular his assistant, Dmitri Tsimikas, paid very careful attention to the details, his workmanship was excellent, and he gave us loads of good advice. We were totally new to contractor estimates, so the only thing we would do differently next time is ask a whole lot more questions up front! Highly recommended.

"Work was completed in two installments. First replaced leaking roof on first visit. Returned to complete the final part including the wooden shakes and ice and water guards. All work was completed in a timely fashion. Clean up was thorough, although I had to sweep up the second time after the rain stopped. Hey, at least they worked in the rain to complete my project. Nice people to work with and friendly. Need to communicate the schedule more effectively, but that was not an issue during this project. I had a leaking

, but they did get here quickly to stop the leaking. I had to call each time to find out what the schedule was for that week. Perhaps someone at the company can tackle this task for customers in the future.

"I have used them for very many years for all types of work. They do most any kind of carpentry work and painting. I would say they are very professional, dependable, and really care about the work that they are doing."
B
"They were easy to get along with but worked a little slower than I would of liked. The price was fair for the type of work being performed. They did do good quality work as well."

"They were very prompt. They did very good work. They were very professional and knew what they were doing. They answered all of my questions so I knew exactly what they needed to do."
