Blood work

Doctors typically request blood tests for general checkups or when a patient is ill. Drawing the blood sample takes only a few minutes, but it can tell doctors a great deal about your health.

I know there are a lot of

locations in
Providence Blood Laboratories Provider Name Locked
, and I've been to a few of them, but I've settled on the
Providence Blood Laboratories Provider Name Locked
locale for most my work. That said, I don't think you can go wrong with any location. The secret is to use
Providence Blood Laboratories Provider Name Locked
.com's "schedule an appointment" feature.
In the past I have just shown up and sometimes had to wait for 45 minutes or so. But when you schedule your appointment, they take you in at that time. In this visit, I showed up five minutes before my appointment and was greeted by a packed room. Yet, when my time rolled around, I was taken to the back, had my blood drawn and was out of there within 10 minutes total. Online scheduling is the way to go.
One other thing I like about
Providence Blood Laboratories Provider Name Locked
is their billing system is quite efficient. Usually it is only a week or so after receiving word from the insurance on how much they paid when a
Providence Blood Laboratories Provider Name Locked
bill arrives.
Prices, though, are the usual mystery that our health system fosters. Nobody knows the negotiated prices and so forth. I did have a Vitamin D test done once and it was for an outrageous amount. I pointed out the differences with cash and other contracted prices and got it reduced. But even cash prices can vary from

location to location. If you are, unfortunately, uninsured or have a big deductible, call around before going. You may save yourself some money.

They claimed to show no appt for me and had a slew of teens in for some summer job screen and made me wait more than 30 min in a small room with blaring TV and unruly kids. unpleasant but convenient and my doctor takes their work from any location.

I was checked in immediately, and brought to the laboratory area. Less than 5 minutes after I sat down, I was called back to have my blood drawn. The technician was personable and skilled. She made me feel at ease when she pulled my blood.
Afterwards, I received the results of my bloodwork the next day by mail. I appreciated that the lab sent me the actual values for my records. The same day as I received the results, I was called by the nurse practitioner at the office to discuss the results. I appreciated their rapid response and that they answered all of my questions.

The doctor I use doesn't make my skin hurt when she draws my blood. They take very good care of you. They will mail you your information as far as blood work results. This is a very friendly place. It's hard to find friendly people in the medical field.

No wait line. Phlebotomist was nice, talkative, friendly. Very accommodating, as I have to take time recovering after I get blood drawn or else I'll faint. Did not make me feel like I needed to rush out of there before I was ready. Got the

I arrived at about 7:30 a.m. and signed in. Shortly after, I registered at the desk; I was already in the system since I routinely have tests/lab work performed at Mercy. They sent me across the hall to the lab area where I gave the

at that desk the paper work. She told me to wait until they called my name, which they did after about a 5 minute wait. The technician

my blood quickly and painlessly, and I was ready to go and out of the hospital by 8:00.
Mercy is where I usually go for blood work now after a few bad experiences with Quest labs. This visit at Mercy was very quick. Sometimes it takes longer, but I've never had to wait extremely long.

I went in, gave the receptionist (she was cheerful and very helpful) my blood work order, and within a few minutes they called my name. They took my blood and I was on my way. The waiting area is large and everything (building and all) looks almost brand new. They had the results the next day to my doctor, which was great. They billed my insurance and took off the amount the insurance marked off, and they had the correct amount when I paid the rest. Easy and quick and professional - just what you need when you are sick.
