At that point, he said to complete the bid I would need to pay a $500 fee since the bid was taking a lot of his time. He said his boss required him to charge this fee, which would go toward the work later if I selected them as GC. My mistake paying the fee, since the bid came back at $24,000, approx. double what other GCs had bid. I said no and asked for a $420 refund. They refunded only $180. I felt like I got taken for $240. Maybe they think people will feel obligated to use them if retainers are paid during the "bid" phase."

"These guys were great! I had a huge leak in the basement.. I was CRUSHED, I had wanted to finish our basement into a game/TV room. I called for an estimate, and was originally concerned because their website said Hermiston, OR.. They informed me that they had an office and came out in TWO days!!! I found their estimates to be right on target with others I have contacted (one company didn't bother to show or call!!). Within a day they had me scheduled. They happily worked around my schedule.
