Wow - I am jealous - a 40 foot LCD TV - that is what you call an mancave or NBA Arena (No Boys Allowed).
Seriously, the main board for a 40" Polaroid runs about $25-75 depending on model - bear in mind these are not typically slip-in socket boards - you are likely to have to disconnect and reconnect a number of wire connectors, and may have to do some soldering of connections. On December 20th, they had not been able to replicate the problem with lines on the screen. I picked up the TV and the technician suggested that I hook up the TV without all the additional equipment to see if it worked okay. Then add the additional plug-ins one at a time to see if the lines appeared.
My son and I hooked up the TV at home. The picture seemed better than usual and I've only seen the lines once and they went away within seconds.
