"I'm going to be doing a HUGE remodel. Garage addition, bedroom/master bath remodel and dig out/remodel and addition of bedroom in basement. Called this company as was one that was recommended to me. The guy came out in early December and came back a day later was a couple of sub-contractors. He said he would have an estimate for me right after the Christmas holiday. Never heard back from him so I called him again in mid to late January. He told me he had gotten busy and would have something for me in about a week. Never heard back from him again. What a waste of my time. Maybe I'm lucky to have learned about his lack of professionalism before I hired him. I have two other contractors that I'm working with and I'm sure either will do a great job."

"The basement design was exactly what we asked for. Unfortunately, the cost was higher than we expected (didn't know how much a redesign would be - not the fault of the company) so we didn't move forward with construction. The design was great, timely and they answered all of our questions."

and Memo for the fabulous job they did on multiple facets of the job. The one day that will remain in our memories is the day that four men carried a 300 lb. tub up out stairs and into the bathroom...without a scratch on any walls or a chip in the tile!!! The construction started in October and was completed in early January.

"Summary:
Do not trust
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
for unsupervised work, do not count on him to make good decisions on his own, and do not count on him to follow project specifications or the building code.
Details:
I'd worked with
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
before, hiring him to assist on my own renovation work, so I invited him to bid on replacing the tub/shower tile at my rental. His bid was competitive, not the least expensive and not the most, and since we'd worked together before I gave him the work. I provided detailed specifications for the job, which he agreed to complete while I and my tenants were all away over the winter holidays, and we agreed in advance that the bid price included some padding in case wall framing needed to be replaced. One never knows, when opening a bathroom wall!
The first problem occurred when he sent me a photo of the job progress showing the shower valve and shower head installed several inches to one side of the tub's centerline. As the original fixtures had been installed on the tub's centerline, and as there was no good reason not to install the new ones in the correct location, I asked
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
to undo some of his work and re-install the plumbing where it belongs. He reluctantly agreed.
The next problem was with his framing. Although there was no water damage requiring removal or replacement of framing, photos he sent me showed he'd removed one of the wall studs to accommodate the plumbing without installing a header above the missing stud. As it's a two story house in an earthquake zone, I'd already told him I wanted the framing to be in compliance with building code. We had even discussed the possibility of his having to remove a stud, and I'd specified a header be installed, according to building code, if a stud was removed. When I pointed out that
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
had removed a stud & not put in a header above the unsupported area, he became irate and threatened to walk off the project, leaving my tenants' only bathing facility inoperable and leaving me with nobody to finish the job. I reluctantly accepted the situation and told him to continue.
The tile work is acceptable, not great. The overall effect is fine, but one can see the transition where he stopped working carefully: the work is quite tidy below, but increasingly inaccurate at eye level and above.
The final problem is the most serious. Although I specified rigid foam insulation in the exterior wall to protect the pipes from freezing, I suspected he'd omitted this material because there were no scraps from its installation in the pile of leftover materials he abandoned. I asked him three times if he'd installed the insulation he'd submitted a receipt for, and three times he in insisted he had. Only when I ran a probe up into the wall from below to confirm there was no insulation did he finally admit that he'd charged me for the material but left it out of the wall. Now the pipes freeze on cold winter days, leaving my tenants without bathing facilities for days on end. Looking up from the basement below, I can see that
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
' new plumbing is installed in direct contact with the uninsulated exterior wall, essentially _guaranteeing_ that it will freeze when the weather is cold. Perhaps he imagined global warming would take care of this problem?
I now have two choices to remedy this situation he created:
• I can demolish his tile job, leaving my tenants without bathing facilities for several days, to gain access to the wall, move the plumbing, and add insulation.
• I can cut open the exterior of the house, removing siding and sheathing, leaving a gaping 3’ x 8’ hole in the house in the dead of winter.
If
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
had followed my design or adhered to residential building code (which also calls for insulation in exterior walls), my tenants and I would not have this problem. This negligence, his dishonesty, and the two other mistakes mentioned above are why I cannot recommend
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
for unsupervised construction or remodeling work.

"We had a wonderful experience working with
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
. Firstly, he
came highly recommended by our former realtor who we know well and
trust. Mr.
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very responsive to my initial email requesting a
bid, and was very prompt and on time to give us a fair estimate. He
listened to our expectations about the work we wanted done, and kept us
in the loop with different approaches as to how that work might be
accomplished. He came a second time with sub contractors in plumbing,
HVAC, electric, and flooring in order to give us as comprehensive
estimate as possible, and worked with our schedules in order to arrange
all of these appointments.
Once the work started we kept open
lines of communication in terms of the expected timeline, and Mr.
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was even willing to accommodate our limited schedule and our
hope to have work done by a certain date due to family visiting in town.
He was also willing to work with us to cut costs as much as possible by
allowing us to do some of the finishing work ourselves. This was a huge
benefit to us as first time homebuyers with a strict budget. His team
and all the subcontractors he worked with were polite, timely, and did
excellent work. When through the course of our work we discovered other
potential areas of the home that needed additional work, Mr.
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked

worked with us to get new estimates and supported us when we ultimately
decided not to pursue the other projects at this time due to a tight
budget. We never felt pressured to take on or spend more than what was
already agreed upon. We paid exactly the amount that was quoted to us
and finished exactly within the time frame that was discussed. While I
can't say that having home renovations done is a stress free experience,
I do feel that it was as straightforward as we could hope for from our
experience with
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
. We would not hesitate to
refer friends and family to him with rave reviews.

"We had worked with
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
several years ago to remodel two of our bathrooms. He did an excellent job so we contacted him again when we decided to do some additional work.
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
refaced the existing tile around our fireplace insert with new
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
rock, it looks like a new fireplace. He removed the existing upper cabinets in our kitchen as we had Elfa shelving installed to replace (this work was done by the Container Store installers). We had his cabinet man,
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
, reface our existing lower kitchen cabinets with new doors.
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
also installed new tile on the wall in our master bath to match the floor he had originally put in.
We would definitely use
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
again as
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his men are very thorough, knowledgeable and do an excellent job.
Our cabinets, fireplace and bath look beautiful.

Forks and his brother worked with us on a bid for a remodel we wanted to do. They were professional, detailed and specific. Their bid was the best price of three we requested. They worked with diligently and creatively with us to try and get to a price point that we were willing to spend.
Unfortunately, through no fault of their own, the extent and design of the plans made it impossible to get to the price we needed. We were really looking forward to working with them but we just couldn't at this time. We are looking at other options for a smaller remodel. We will definitely be giving them a call to work on a cut down plan.

Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was a delight to work with. I was involved in the project before and after (I did the demolition work on the windows and removed siding, and installed new siding after the doors and windows were in). He has good ideas and is straightforward about construction choices, alternatives, and costs. He is very knowledgeable, and his work is of high quality. He isn't cheap, but I believe it's worth it to pay for good quality, and there is no question about his honesty and integrity, as well as his workmanship.
There were a number of issues that arose in working on our house, which was built in the 20s and the 40s, and there were some unforeseen issues that had to be dealt with (such as a complete lack of sheathing underneath the siding below the windows--he had to install plywood onto the framing). These issues increased the time and the cost, but they were resolved in a way that made the best of a previously bad situation, and improved the state of our old house.
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
is generally busy, so one needs to be flexible. about scheduling. But once he got to the job, he was focused on our project and gave it the time it needed.
I will definitely use
Portland Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
again for our next job. The windows he installed are great and made a real difference to our bedroom. The French doors are beautiful and work smoothly: they are still one of the most beautifully functioning things in our house. (Some credit is due for this to

with the materials.)
