"I have two young boys and they are just wonderful with them. They teach them what to do well, have handled their problems effectively and they have a great bedside manner. It's kids place."

"We heard of him through word of mouth and through friends. He’s wonderful. He’s great. He’s a children’s dentist and he’s really good with kids. He really works hard to take care of kids and their families. He’s just very special. His son is in practice with him too and they’re both great. We will continue to use him in the future if need be."

"She really talks to parents, and is always part of the solution, and she works really well, with the orthodontist, they talk back and forth. I always make the appointments a year in advance, and the office environment is nice, and the staff is friendly."

"GREAT! This was our first ever dental appointment and my child is 4 years old. It was a great experience all around. Dr
Portland Pediatric Dentists Provider Name Locked
(Sr) came out and gave us a tour, engaging my son and I could tell that his practice was a good match immediately. I had requested that if all went well and they had time, to go ahead with exam and cleaning. My son LOVED both Dr
Portland Pediatric Dentists Provider Name Locked
and
Portland Pediatric Dentists Provider Name Locked
the Hygenist. We did find 2 early cavities, to which he recommended an alternative treatment to drilling/filling. Part of the therapy I questioned, and he was absolutely respectful of my questions and was fine with waiting to decide until later on part of it. We went with Flouride Varnish but waited on the iodine until I did some research. we will go back every 2 months to try to halt the progression of the decay, along with doing some extra care at home daily. When driving away, my son asked "How many more sleeps til we get to go back there?" Highly recommended.

"I recommended Dr.
Portland Pediatric Dentists Provider Name Locked
and her team at
Portland Pediatric Dentists Provider Name Locked
to friends based on patient feedback, Angie's List, etc. Today I accompanied a friend and his daughters for their first visit to

. The girls are

. This was the 2-year-old's first dental visit, and the 9-year-old hadn't been to the dentist for several years. She saw a

dentist who conducted her practice in

; a very familiar atmosphere.

Going to a white dentist, in a mainstream suburban clinic was a very big deal for the whole family. The girls had different needs, concerns, and responses to dental care.

The 9 yr old was very nervous, but left feeling relaxed, proud of having such healthy teeth, and motivated to take good care of them. The 2 year-old was completely averse to the whole idea of someone looking in her mouth for any reason, in the chair or elsewhere. In both cases Dr.
Portland Pediatric Dentists Provider Name Locked
and the staff involved were attuned, responsive, and skilled in that very sensitive balance between inviting collaboration, pushing a child to trust that they can do it, and recognizing when a young child simply can't allow it.Plus, they were efficient, and inspired confidence through their professionalism and smarts.

Lots of practices "treat children". That's not the same as seeing them and engaging them in their own care. That takes skill, experience, and heart. I saw these in actione at

"Everything was great about him, and his staff was great too. My kids are 18 and 20 now. Everybody was very friendly, and my kids were comfortable going there. They had a very nice waiting area. We would recommend him to others. We would rate him highly and would use him again in the future if necessary. "

"The service was excellent! He had an exceptional bedside manner. Everything about the office and the experience was perfect. I just loved him. We changed only because our insurance changed. "

"It's a really cute office, they really tailor both the office environment and the appointments to the needs of small children. The kids get prizes at each step. The doors are color coded so they can go and get their prizes. They have movie screens all over the place so the kids are distracted and they show age appropriate, lots of Disney. The hygienists are used to dealing with young children so you don't have to worry about your child getting freaked out by something that they're doing which is really nice. we've been really happy so far. They were recommended by our pediatrician then they moved next door so it was kind of a no brainer. The waiting area is set up like a movie theatre so you go and sit in the chair and the seat

"My daughter, 15, was quite tense. This was her first cavity and had heard horror stories. Dr. Cavano was so patient that the procedure was a breeze. He not only addressed the problem, but also discussed with her how to care for her teeth and specific issues to watch for. We are changing her regular dentist to Dr. Cavano"

"Dr
Portland Pediatric Dentists Provider Name Locked
was referred to us by a friend. It's a bit of a drive, but I really wanted our kids to have positive early dentist experiences. It is over-the-top kid-oriented, especially for young children. There are lots of things to play with, movies on, little prizes at each step of the way -- not my favorite things to have around the house, but the kids love them! The hygienists are so nice and sweet to the kids, and have never gotten rattled when the kids aren't happy (as they sometimes aren't). They have always been realistic about what young kids can handle and seem passionate about pediatric dental care. They are not a preferred provider for any insurance, but they do bill insurance for you. We usually have to pay a few dollars extra for the visits. You have to schedule far in advance (we schedule our next appts each time we go in, so 6 months ahead). They moved to a new office that is bigger, and I believe a new dentist will be starting there. That might help with scheduling in the future."
