"Our 1904 suffered from hot and cold flashes, summers were
sweltering and winters cost us an arm and a leg to heat our 1500 sf. We
bid to four companies to assess our insulation needs and put us in a
position to earn Energy Trust credits. earned A-plusses through
every step of the process: their quoting rep was easily accessible and
very thorough and accurate. Most companies didn't crawl through the
crawlspaces or dig through the attic, but did. Because they did
the legwork up front, we weren't surprised by the knob and tube wiring
that needed to be replaced. gave us clear estimates and work
orders, they scheduled us early and arrived on time each day, and
finished the job a day early! They were immaculate and left not a speck
of dust or of insulation, in fact they hauled out their trash each
day and took our old lighting fixtures to the ReBuilding Center for us. A
member of my family was working in the home office throughout the
process, and wasn't bothered at all by their presence, despite having a team of folks there crawling in every nook and cranny. They
took the extra steps of painting new vents to the external paint color
so that they were seamless and invisible; and lastly, their electrician
onsite had extra time, and installed several new light fixtures free of
charge!
To be honest, was not the lowest bid, but not
only did the energy credits bring them level with their competitors,
their extra mile and professionalism gave me complete peace of mind and
the sense that I got far more than I paid for. Hats off to this
company, they are true professionals."

"They are very good. They put us into a government service program called Clean Energy With which helps subsidize getting your home fully energy efficient. I am in the process of waiting for someone to come from the organization to do a full assessment of our home. They were very thorough. The lady that did the estimate was very nice. I had someone else come and HELP's cost was higher. They said it was because they pay their emplyees well and provide insurance for them. Their price was $600 more than the other estimate."

" was on time, answered emails promptly, and had good suggestions to make work go more smoothly and less expensively. I have recommended him to friends. "

"If you are not interested in reading all of the following details of our remodel, we want to emphasize how happy we are with our completed project and we would highly recommend and to do any remodel job or home improvement project.
After receiving the architectural drawings we got a firm, detailed bid from . After revisions and accepting the bid, we signed a written contract with that followed the architectural drawings and had everything we wanted in our remodel and explained in detail with a dollar amount what was included: plumbing, HVAC, windows, interior doors, sliding doors, foundation, drywall, electrical, roofing, insulation, demolition, interior finish carpentry, tile work, siding, oak flooring. and the specifics of cleanup. We covered the choice and cost of special lighting, plumbing fixtures including shower doors, cabinetry in the kitchen and bathrooms (including counter tops), bathroom towel fixtures, bathroom tile, exterior doors and hardware). had subcontractors for electrical work, HVAC, flooring, carpentry, and electrical. We had prior experience with a house painter who we wanted to use and it was not included in 's bid. Once work began, we found that we preferred to use a tile installer that we had previous experience with and the allowance for the tile installation was subtracted from our contract and we paid the tile installer directly. was agreeable to all of these changes. gave us a timely and reasonable bid for these other work orders for some other small changes that we wanted.
As far as the extent of the work involved in the remodel: removed walls dividing the living room and dining room, moved the kitchen to the dining room location and the dining room to the kitchen location, vaulted the ceiling in the living room and added three skylights, added a deck and roof off the kitchen, relocated two bathrooms, added 12 feet to the end of the house thus enlarging the master bedroom and the third bedroom turning it into a studio with vaulted ceiling and two skylights and added an exterior deck to the studio. In addition, we had a walk-in closet added to the master bedroom.
acted as 's foreman and helped coordinate the work. Either or were at the job site every day from the end of November until the job was completed by our move in date of 3/17. Also, the contract included adding storage space, drop down ladder and sheet rock in the garage. That work couldn't be done while we stored household belongings in the garage so it was done in the next week as we emptied out the garage to make room for the drywallers to hang the sheetrock.
There was no part of this project where disappointed us and didn't perform over and above. We would highly recommend him. If he doesn't perform the work himself, his subcontractors and foreman, , do the work meeting all expectations. is easy to work with and made this remodel as easy on us as possible. No remodel goes exactly as expected except this one. The changes we made during the process caused no problems for and we stayed within budget. Although there were some additional costs (such as adding a pantry in the garage), they were choices we made during the process of seeing our vision come together. I am only sorry there are no opportunities to post photos of the before and after. Everyone would be amazed."

"This garage roof replacement project was the result of snow load damage during an extended cold period in December 2008. It became a very challenging project because of more strict county structural codes and because of the changed and unexpected soil and foundation conditions discovered after work had begun. As a result, additional engineering and county inspections were required causing additional delay on top of the wettest winter weather in 15 years. In all respects, workers and managers adapted extremely well to these changes, kept me informed on how the project completion would be affected and still completed the project to a very high standard. Moreover, project site cleanup was done every day and nothing was left behind for disposal.
in one of the very best contractors I have ever worked with. As a professional civil engineer I look at all of the details and engineering involved in projects to satisfy myself that a contractor is accomplishing the required work correctly and to a high standard. I know my questioning can sometimes be tedious and constant, but the project manager answered all of my concerns professionally to my great satisfaction. Communication with all involved contractor personnel was effective and enjoyable. I want to especially commend Short, the project manager, and the work crew, and . They were all very professional, courteous and accomplished all required tasks extremely well to a very high standard.
I have the highest regard for professionalism and results achieved and would highly recommend this contractor to anyone wanting to see a
project done right on the first try."

"Me (owner) should have had the project totally planned out from the beginning as it dragged on for about a year. was very patient and understanding. I appreciated the fact that did quite a bit of the work himself (sub floor, tile, framing, finish work) instead of sending it out so it was easier to conference about change orders and other details."

"Excellent to work with, very thorough, and high quality. spent over an hour looking at my place and answered all of my questions. He even followed the lead abatement procedures required for this type of work. We noticed the warmer our house was right away after the job was done. To prove it we were audited by The Energy Trust when we applied for our rebate. They said they never saw an invoice with so much detail. When the inspector came out he brought an infrared gun to detect heat losses. The inspector had nothing but praise for the job. If we buy another house I would not hesitate to use these again, even if the tax credit is expired. The increased level of comfort is worth the money they charged."

" came to do an inspection and give an estimate. He was very thorough and provided good ideas on how to improve the heat in our house by insulating and sealing duct work. He came to our house before and during the project and gave us a follow up call to make sure we were happy with the work. He was easily accessible by phone and responded quickly for questions. After the workers got into our crawl space and found that the amount of work and installation needed was less then quoted, adjusted our bill to reflect the actual work and materials used. After the ducts were sealed, we noticed improved heat flow in our house and felt that was a good investment. I got their name from the Energy Trust of trade ally list, and they said they would file paperwork for our rebates."

"Ours is an old house and has some peculiar features. In every case, has been creative and careful in working on our home. He and his crew have been professional, friendly, and easy to work with.
He is honest, on time, and on budget.
There are few cases where I can unreservedly recommend a company or individual. This is one."

"Great experience. We give our highest recommendation. The energy audit was detailed and thorough. The report pointed out several areas where our house needed insulation and Mitt sat down and explained the process to us and answered our questions. When it came time to do the work, Mitt took extra care to make sure the work was done right. We are very satisfied with the process and the price."
