"Ours is an old house and has some peculiar features. In every case,
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
has been creative and careful in working on our home. He and his crew have been professional, friendly, and easy to work with. He is honest, on time, and on budget. There are few cases where I can unreservedly recommend a company or individual. This is one."

Pushkas introduced himself as having been in business 10 years; we later discovered he had only just bought the business. He also brought his carpenter to the site and let him answer questions about concrete work even though that was not his expertise. His billing was confusing, and the price kept mounting. When we asked for details of invoices etc. he refused at first, then provided us (after we decided to terminate him) with an unreasonable final bill, including labor costs that had never been mentioned or disclosed earlier. He had not fully paid his concrete sub so because of the threat of a
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
we ended up having to negotiate a settlement of an extra $10,000 on top of an already outrageous bill. This contractor ruined us financially and left us with a house that was totally unfinished. We heard from our lawyer that he is now relocating so watch out for
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
Pushkas under a new name and don't give him any jobs!

made my kitchen remodel project proceed very smooothly. They were reasonable with their bid, They were on budget, on time and very professional not only with the quality of work they did, but also how they treated me, their client, throughout the entire 6 weeks. The project manager kept me informed on a daily basis on what would be happening and the workers were all very respectful of my home and privacy.
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
's team was flexible and easy to work with and totally trustworthy. I would hire this company again and I have recommended their work to several of my friends.

"I bid out the kitchen work with the help of a Portland area kitchen designer (
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
) and chose
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
in early
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
2010. The firm was very responsive in the bidding process and began work within days of the bid acceptance. The entire project took little more than nine weeks, though I had other work going on in the house at the same time, so there was some need to work around other projects. All subcontractors seemed to be expert craftsmen; we are very happy with their contributions to the final project. I have no guidance regarding dos and
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
'ts except to note that I did my best to keep on schedule myself with selection of cabinet styles and finishes, appliances, granite, etc. Given that the general contractor is juggling his own crew and subcontractors -- and other work -- it is important to keep to a schedule and be decisive in making choices in order to keep a project on time. I highly recommend this firm. They are a class act.

"Do not use
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
for anything. He knew before he completed the project that there were major problems with almost all aspects of construction: flashing, roof, decks, windows, drainage, concrete. After agreeing to fix the problems through a mediated settlement with the
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
he did a few repairs and just walked away (some of the materials are still lying around the complex). The
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
has now sued
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
. Many units are up for sell but no one is interested in buying because of all of the unresolved problems. I bought my unit with a guarantee he would fix a drainage problem. After 3.5 years, more promises of a fix that I can count, and $15,000 in legal bills the problems still are not resolved. I wish I could turn back the clock and had walked away from the sale.

"Extremely pleased with the results. From initial meeting to final resuts and project clean-up, the project was smooth and successful. We moved out of our house for the 9 month project and watched it progress nicely every week. They completed on schedule and within budget. We appreciated their willingness to answer our many questions, discuss any discrepencies with an open mind and always came to an agreement on changes before doing them. Their recommended list of local and quality vendors was very helpful as we wanted to utilize local resources for our products. we've already recommended other projects to them based on the Brewer work ethic, integrity, and quality of work. You're going to get a quality finished product and enjoy working with them. We were so impressed with

"Returning home after our holiday vacations, we were horrified to find that Arctic Blast 2008 had caused our living room ceiling and wall to swell and bulge with water. It was a disaster. And because I was 4 months pregnant at the time and our house is over 100 years old, we were extremely worried about the potential for toxic exposure from the damages, not to mention the repair process. You can imagine how happy I was to find
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
to help us.
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
and
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
were responsive, friendly, helpful and really good at what they did.
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
helped us understand the homeowner?s insurance process and advocated for us along the way. They arrived on time each day and finished the project according to our timelines--even rushing things along at one point because we were only able to have the storage container on our street for 14 days. And their work was impeccable. Done beautifully, every step of the way. Not to mention, they were such nice guys that it was a treat to welcome them in each day. Top all of this off with our relief in having the repairs done using non-toxic, environmentally friendly practices and we couldn?t be happier. I have gone on to tell so many people about
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
and
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
. I am so grateful for their help with our repairs. Our home and our conscience (and our baby!) are all beautiful.

"They were absolutely atrocious.
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
, the owner of the company, was absolutely dreadful, and he overcharged us. They charged almost $50,000 for the work, and from all estimates, that should have been about half of that. I can?t even describe how bad the quality of work was. As far as my understanding goes, he has a history of very poor work in the general contracting area. We were almost tempted to report him to the authorities because he was almost fraudulent in the way he conducted his business."

"The experience has been frustrating and costly.
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
, using an employee who did not have experience in bidding and managing a project, did not successfully integrate the materials list with the plans before submitting their bid. This created numerous errors and omissions. Each time an error or omission was discovered, we would receive a change order for more money. An example was leaving out the wrap around deck or the master bath shower. We negotiated the first 6 or so problems, but eventually refused to continue to pay for mistakes made by
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
in the bid process. With our reserves exhausted, we just had to say no. That's when the quality of the work went down hill as the owner,
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
, tried to cut costs by using cheaper labor. Attempts to get us to pay for bid errors did not stop. Toward the end of the project,
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
ignored requests for schedule updates and seldom provided on-site project management to ensure work was completed properly. One of the biggest problems we faced was having the house built in the wrong place on the property. This resulted in the inability to place the garage as planned. Again,
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
tried to shift the blame. When we ask for defects to be fixed, we are often blamed for the problem or told it's just part of the business. The project is 5 months past the estimated completion date and working with
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
has been exhausting.

"We met with Pat and I gave her a detailed list of all the features and spaces I wanted to squeeze into our first floor. These included moving the kitchen, adding a new back hall and a laundry room, and reconfiguring the entry, guest room and bathroom. We scribbled a few ideas on paper. Then a couple of weeks later, she came back with fabulous ideas for how to get what we wanted in the space and budget we had to work with. We tweaked it a number of times until we finally had exactly what we wanted. Once we agreed on the plan, we sent them to the engineer to get Engineering approval. The engineer made some notations on the plans about how it was to be built (like extra bolts for wind
Portland Home Builders Provider Name Locked
). Once we had the engineering done, Pat took the plans to the department that hands out building permits and brought us all the permits we needed. What a relief. We gave the plans to the builder who part, the plans were self explanatory and we got everything we wanted. The house looks great now.
