Glass Repair And Installation reviews in Portland

I had a large mirror that was a bit too big after I had my bathroom remodeled.

came, they cut the mirror to fit the current space and rehung it. It would have cost me a lot more to get a new mirror, plus the difficulty of transporting a new mirror and hanging it. This was a great solution. Coast was very responsive, professional, friendly, on time. Took about 30 minutes.

was great! Took his time to ensure that the door/panel was installed precisely. He did it all himself, as his helper bailed on him, which was even more impressive! His price was the best of the punch. The finished install looks awesome, I would definitely use

We had previously used

) and were impressed with the overall service and value. So we had no reservations about calling him again for an estimate on updating a few items.

He was professional and arrived at the time we had arranged.

Once a service date was agreed upon, he arrived and performed all the items we had discussed. We are extremely happy with the quality of work and the bathroom looks absolutely great.

Excellent. The owner,
Portland Glass Repair Companies Provider Name Locked
, is very personable and professional. He gave me a fair bid, did exactly what he said he would do, and did it on schedule. What more could you ask? I strongly recommend this company for glass work.

The did a good job, the glass is very well seated in the new casing. The glass was a custom size and they used tempered glass, so it was to code. So it took a few days before they had it ready for installation. But it all went very smoothly.

responded quickly to my e-mail. He arrived on time to measure for an estimate. The nature of the job necessitated replacing glass in windows which are no longer manufactured. Several windows were not damaged but if not replaced, they would not match the newly installed windows. He was very honest when he expressed his reluctance to sell me something I didn't need but I asked him to measure for a full replacement. There really was no way I was going to be able to live with mismatched windows.
He emailed the evening before the appointment to confirm. He and his crew arrived on time and worked efficiently and steadily throughout the day. All of the crew were polite, professional and seemed very capable.
I appreciated:
*the attention to detail
*the outstanding communication throughout the project
*the willingness to work around another project I had going at the same time
*the excellent work ethic
*the genuine customer service, friendly, willing to listen, personable

For the most part, it went very well and I would be giving them straight As except for one thing. The person who came out to see the window and give us a bid said it would look just as new when they were finished -- but the interior strip between the panes isn't the same as on the original window, which matters because it's one of a pair of windows separated by only 6" or so on the wall. Now the repaired window has a shiny material separating the panes while the rest of our windows do not. Small matter, perhaps, but it stands out when the curtains are open. I do have to say: Both the fellow who gave us the bid and the fellow who brought the new glass out and installed it were extremely nice, polite, and they did their work quickly and professionally (except for the description of the proposed repair). We were very pleased with the price and we were charged exactly what we were quoted. They were always punctual. We do not suspect the change in material in the window is inferior to what we had; it's just different. It took longer than we expected between the bid and the installation of the new glass, but it was during the holidays and we figured that was probably to be expected. I would hire them again but I'll be more careful that we're both clear on every aspect of the job to be done.

I don't write reviews. It would have to be either a stellar experience or an unusually bad one to inspire me to write a review. Unfortunately, in this instance, it is the latter.

did the original install of our shower glass and door during a fairly extensive remodel. After a few years, the gasket in the lower hinge began to fail, and ultimately slipped out of place dramatically. I called
Portland Glass Repair Companies Provider Name Locked
to have the repair done, fully expecting that I would have to pay for it. When their repair person arrived, he was courteous and efficient. He did inform me however, that the repair should not have been necessary, and that if the install had been done properly, this problem would not have happened. He told me he would report back to the company that his opinion was that the hinge had not been tightened to specs, and as a result the gasket had slipped. He said I should not have to pay for it. He also did mention that they wouldn't be too eager to hear what he had to say, as they are under a lot of pressure to bill out for service calls.
When I received the call from
Portland Glass Repair Companies Provider Name Locked
telling me the amount due, I discussed with them what their repairman had told me, and that I was not expecting to pay for something due to an improper installation, as noted by their repairman. I was told that it was out of warranty. I asked him if the opinion of their repair person was being taken into consideration, and I was simply told that they have to pay their servicemen for a service call.
It's short-sighted and opportunistic of them, to ignore the advice of their technicians. They would rather bill today, than honor the work they've done in the past. I even went so far as to point out the message he was sending about their values and business practices by charging for work to repair a job that was necessary only due to their own improper install.
For the record, I am happy to pay for work done and I am happy to take financial responsibility for home ownership and maintenance and upkeep. This is an instance though, of a company not standing behind their work, and as such I feel it is my responsibility too, to issue a warning to others who may be considering

. They do not value their customers. They do not grasp the importance of their reputation. They are in it for the immediate paycheck, not the long term relationships.
Buyer beware.

We had to remove the glass in the garage window because we were locked out. Luckily, the glass was removed without breaking. It was a Saturday and I called
Portland Glass Repair Companies Provider Name Locked
at D&M Glass. He agreed to come out Sunday at noon. He arrived at the agreed time and re-installed the glass in the window. He is a professional, pleasant person and I especially appreciated that he would come out on Sunday!
