"I initially contacted
Portland Foundation Repair Specialists Provider Name Locked
in May after a poor experience with a competitor (I won't share his thoughts on that). On two separate occasions between May and
Portland Foundation Repair Specialists Provider Name Locked
,
Portland Foundation Repair Specialists Provider Name Locked
came over and spent an hour and a half talking about his service. The first time he came, his estimate was 50k for a basement lift/excavation/pour, on the higher end but within the ballpark for the 750-900 square footage and the project. The second time he brought his partner and talked about the job being 50-70k, she was going to excavate, etc, etc. I had significant difficulty reaching him during the summer (I think there were some family health issues out of state). I was repeatedly clear that the project was a priority and that the timeline/budget needed to get firmed up. in August he showed up with several additional personnel and started talkng about the project approaching 100k. I said it was out of the question, 70k was the ceiling with an understood fudge factor of 10%, or 80k total. At the time I thought the additional folks were subcontractors, but they each had me sign a separate agreement.
Portland Foundation Repair Specialists Provider Name Locked
requested a $500 deposit/consulting fee. I asked why I was signing two agreements and was told that was how each of them handled things to protect their own businesses. Turns out
Portland Foundation Repair Specialists Provider Name Locked
had transferred the general contracting to this other company and had chosen only to complete the actual lift (which I found out AFTER terminating). The final bid for the project came in NOVEMBER at $140k. Completely outrageous. I actually burst into tears. This also came with monies owed to the other company of $6800 for house drawings and engineering (which I never would have done if I'd known the project was going to be almost three times the original bid, 2.5x if you take out the drawings I requested and the engineering I foolishly agreed to). By the way, there were no surprises that came up or anything that in any way justified not telling me the minute it was clear the project couldn't be done within my budget. While I was only out $500 to
Portland Foundation Repair Specialists Provider Name Locked
, following his lead ended up costing several thousand dollars, several months' time wasted and rental income lost for a project that won't be completed. During a final call with
Portland Foundation Repair Specialists Provider Name Locked
, he offered to return the $500 deposit. He was a bit sarcastic when asking if I'd like it returned, but I said I would. I never received a check, never received a response to my email stating I hadn't received the check and never heard from him again. He actually requested on more than one occasion that I write a review of the first company that came out.
Portland Foundation Repair Specialists Provider Name Locked
can be unpleasant, and I'm sorry to have been put in the position of writing this one. I will certainly update this review if something changes.

"I was very impressed with RamJack. A knowledgeable rep came by and did a thorough job evaluating my situation. I was fairly concerned about the floor sag but after discussion RamJack advised me that the work was not necessary. Not many contractors would do this and I really appreciate this. I will definitely call them again in the future if I need this type of work.

"This was a home that we were under contract to buy. During inspections we discovered a slew of issues with the home, including these foundation issues.
Portland Foundation Repair Specialists Provider Name Locked
provided us with an estimate for addressing the home's foundation issues. The estimator was punctual and explained their proposed solution adequately. Their 75-year transferrable warranty was very reassuring and appealling. Ultimately, we did not move forward with our purchase of the home and thus did not actually use
Portland Foundation Repair Specialists Provider Name Locked
's services.

"The work was extremely poorly done and began to crumble within a week. They came out to "fix" it several months later, and it degraded again immediately after they finished. It looks much worse than before they did the work. It would have been better to have done nothing.
The intent was to shore up and provide preventive maintenance on the exterior, exposed foundation. I had had a great experience with this company (chimney work) a year earlier, and called to follow up on a quote for the foundation they had given at that time. The individual I had worked with in 2010 was no longer with the company, but I went ahead anyway. Nemesio came out to do the work this time. It was November 2011, and I questioned whether or not the cold snap would impact the success of the job. He said it would be fine. Within days, the new foundation

began cracking, bubbling, and peeling. I called repeatedly and sent pictures of the problem spots. By the time he came out to do the repairs, in May of 2012, most of the walls showed the same pattern. He redid the work. Again, it quickly began to crack, peel, and crumble off. Calls to the company were rarely returned. It was never ultimately fixed, patched, or compensated. A complaint to the better business bureau is in the works. This was a complete waste of money, and the foundation looks embarrassingly terrible.

"This is the type of customer service that exceeds my expectations.
Portland Foundation Repair Specialists Provider Name Locked
did a full inspection complete with measurements. He even made extra effort to come by and perform the inspection on a Friday late in the day. I really appreciate him doing this. Even though the inspection determined no work was needed,
Portland Foundation Repair Specialists Provider Name Locked
did not charge a penny for his excellent service.

"They did an excellent job. They took time to show me what they were going to do, stopped in the middle to show me how it was going, and explained everything they had done at the end. I would definitely hire them again. I wasn't aware they had a 2% credit card fee when I had to work done and they waived the fee in the end which was very fair. Very happy with everything.

"The team was extremely professional. It was very dry cold weather so there was a lot of dust. They cleaned up after themselves and did the work in good time. The crew was very polite and friendly. They did a lot of really hard work without any complaints and on budget. We will definitely hire them again for any work we need done on this house or the next.

"Autumn was pleasant, professional and thorough. We walked around both the inside and outside of the house, me asking questions and him offering advice and options. I really appreciated the creativity and frankness of his responses. I look forward to working with him on actual projects.

"The estimator gave an immediate impression that he had no particular interest in the job. First, he was late for the appointment that he had set. Second, his demeanor ran the gamut from uninterested to downright bored. Also, he didn't seem to have familiarity with the era in which my home was built. Toward the end of our discussion, he made it clear that
Portland Foundation Repair Specialists Provider Name Locked
really doesn't do foundation repair work, so essentially the meeting was a waste of my time and his. But the attitude he gave off was bad enough that I would not work with
Portland Foundation Repair Specialists Provider Name Locked
even if I was looking to have an earthquake retrofitting of my foundation (which, according to the estimator, is really what they are about, so I am uncertain why he didn't tell me that when I first called for an appointment).

and his crew were amazing! So fast, so professional, so skilled, such nice guys!
Portland Foundation Repair Specialists Provider Name Locked
exceeded my expectations and I expected a lot for the money. As it turned out, I feel like I got more than I paid for. These guys rock! I'd hire them again in a heartbeat.
