"I made an appointment with Empire to get a quote for replacing about 800 SF of carpet. I had no idea that a seemly meeting could go so wrong. He measured the house, we discussed the various carpet grades, we choose a mid-grade carpet, he crunched the numbers and wrote down an estimate for $3,500. He could tell that was more than we were expecting so he called his manager and came back with a revised quote of $2,400 (a practice that always makes me ). We thanked him for the quote and told him we'd get back to him after getting other bids - his estimate was the first we had received. He became very pushy and said the price was only good for that day, if we didn't sign up right then the price would go up by 50% (an additional $1200). I tried to explain to him that we weren't comfortable signing up the first bid without any basis for comparison which you think he would understand, that's how the bid process works. But, no, he became aggressively argumentative telling us how great the offer was, how great their customer service rating was (the irony was almost laughable), how at that price they wouldn't make any money and he would be working for free and not able to support his family. I tried to understand his rational as to why the price would change, after-all there were no changes to the services, his only explanation was that he would have to come back out to the house to sign the paper work (a $1,200 fee for paper work?). He continued his rant for what felt like 15 minutes. It was an amazing display of unprofessionalism. He eventually gave up, crossed out the "low" bid on his proposal, got up and left. I felt like we were just verbally assaulted in our own house. It was by far the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor, and it all happened over a request for a bid on carpet. Absolutely unbelievable. "

"We called up for an estimate. They were able to come out within 24 hours to develop an estimate for the work we were considering. Nick came out and asked several questions of the work we wanted. He took the time to explain to us the process and time needed to do the tiling in our kitchen. He was able to give us a written estimate within two days.
Our experience with Nick was great. We decided not to go with tile since in was beyond our budget for the work we were considering for the kitchen. If cost was not an issue, we would have been happy to hire to complete the tile work. We would recommend to others who are considering tile work.

"Working with Sergey was a real pleasure. He is a talented craftsman, extremely hard worker, and a perfectionist. We agreed on a price ,date, and scope of the work to be performed and he did exactly what he said he would do at a level that quite frankly I did not expect. He was here early, stayed late, and took no shortcuts.
My floors look better than they did when they were new. It is my impression that Sergey is obsessive compulsive regarding his craft and when he leaves this earth he will go to OCD heaven and still stand out!
An added bonus is that he is as fine a person as he is craftsman!

" had installed a slate dining room in our previous home. We had purchased a smaller, ranch style home which was gutted and completely remodeled.e. Our contractor, Brothers, had an allowance for the tile installation and a tile installer in mind for us to use but we chose to go back to and because of our positive experience with him. We had glass tiles that we wanted interspersed with the porcelain tiles we had chosen for our bathrooms. had no problem with this and he worked with us to come up with a design for both bathrooms that called for a more creative approach than just tile above tile. We are very pleased with the bathrooms. While was at the remodel, I asked about refacing the brick fireplace with slate and 's bid to do the job was too good to pass up. We are very happy with everything that and his crew accomplished for us. They are real artisans in laying the tile and creating a wonderful living space."

"Very process. provided an estimate (we got 3 estimates and he came in in the middle - we felt more confident in than in the low bidder, though), we discussed dates and times that would work for both of us, then he and his brother showed up and completed the work on time and in an exemplary fashion. We needed to be out of the house for a week or so while they did their work and were very pleased to see the end result when we returned. We highly recommend ."

"Me (owner) should have had the project totally planned out from the beginning as it dragged on for about a year. was very patient and understanding. I appreciated the fact that did quite a bit of the work himself (sub floor, tile, framing, finish work) instead of sending it out so it was easier to conference about change orders and other details."

"Very friendly & helpful in the store. Was happy with ordering process & appointment. Was originally told it would take two days to complete, but then it the installer was only working partial days (due to previous project needing more time, I believe) & it was going to become a four day job. When I complained they were responsive and resolved the issue; completing the job in three days (it was too late for it to be done in two days at that point). While I was frustrated that I had to address this I was happy with the resolution. The installer did quality work and didn't make any additional messes. The floors look good. I would use this company again."

"We have worked with in the past and been very satisfied, so we called him for this job. and his son consulted with plumbers about the best way to move the pipes for the washing machine away from an outside wall where they tended to freeze. This required cutting into the walls and moving pipes. After the plumbers were done, did an excellent job of repairing the sheet rock. We did our own painting. There was some delay in getting the vinyl floor installed, but it was due to a combination of illness and bad weather, neither of which could have been avoided. The rooms look great and we are very satisfied."

"My old floor was ruined by a previous contractor who used a red marked on the sub floor. The red lines came up through the floor and could not be washed off. inspected the problem and suggested that the only way to fix it was to replace the floor. He pointed out that the red were under the wear of the material and that was the reason we could not remove them.
The original plan was to the new floor on top of the old floor as is the usual practice, but when began the job he found that the old floor was very poorly glued down and decided to remove it. At this point he sealed the underlayment to ensure that the red would not invade the new floor.
is very detail oriented. He used much less caulking than the original contractor used making for a much cleaner installation that would now be easier to keep looking good.
comes from a family of floor and tile craftsmen and really knows his trade.
I am fully satisfied with the work performed."

" dropped off several different styles of wood floor samples so we could compare them in our house and decide which style would look the best. He also went over the entire process so there would be no surprises, as well as cost of each different type of wood. When we decided on the flooring he gave us an estimate and we scheduled a date to begin. The entire process took a couple of weeks. The workers were very nice, clean and respectful of our home. The result was very dramatic to say the least. Our floors look beautiful. We are very happy with our choice and will use for future projects. I recommend their company to anyone who is thinking of installing ."
