Portland Door Installers Reviews

"Excellent experience. One of our garage stalls suddenly quit working on a Sunday night. We called
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
at 8 pm on a Sunday, expecting to leave a message, and hopefully get called back next day. To our surprise, a lady answered and spoke to us as though it was during business hours. Per our request, they agreed to send someone out the very next morning. He arrived on time. He even found our house w/o help (our house is VERY difficult to find). He was friendly, and worked quickly and skillfully. He explained the problem clearly and went over a couple options for the repair, based on price compared to "bang for your buck." He repaired in about 1.5 hours total. Price was fair, considering we went with the most expensive repair option, which is supposed to last the longest too. Accepted our Angie's list coupon, so $10 off. He even made a minor repair on a different garage stall at no additional charge, just b/c he noticed it and was already at our house. Overall, a superior quality home repair experience. Would definitely hire again, and certainly recommend to other Angie's list members.

"We love working with
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
. He's extremely knowledgeable about home construction and repair, His attitude is always great and we trust him with any task we may have. I recommend him 100% for any handyman needs anyone may have. My only regret is we didn't find him sooner when we had some larger construction projects on our home. I'm sure he would have done a great job with those as well.

"We have used them several times to work on our front door and pretty much all the main doors in our home. They are
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
pros in Portland. Cannot stress enough their integrity, knowledge of several problematic pocket doors, and skill with all doors working mechanisms. They keep appointments, show up on time, complete the work in a professional manner and are very affordable compared to others in the area. There's no one better for doors in Portland.

"The provider arrived with a van and all necessary tools. The provider worked very hard and cleaned up his materials when he was done. He did a very good job.

"It went really well. The listened to our needs and offered suggestions to come up with the best possible solution without being pushy. The gave us very clear expectations of what to expect on the day of install. The only glitch was the glass came in without the tint. They immediately notified me, took full responsibility, and reordered the glass. They installed the doors the same day as promised and came out later to remove the incorrect glass and install the correct glass. The installers were polite and had a great sense of humor. The second time they were here to change out the incorrect glass for the correct glass, we hardly noticed they were here.

"I am slowly replacing all my windows and sliding doors in my home with double paned vinyls without going into debt for them. I have a total of 28 windows and three sliding glass doors, all are metal cased and are leaking heat. Last year I had
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
replace a sliding glass door and three windows in my master bedroom; this time they replaced the remaining windows on the first floor of my house.
I ordered five additional windows back in September, 2013, and they installed them in mid-November (three were irregular shaped and took extra time). The installers took a full day, finishing after sundown (around 6 pm). The two sliding windows went in without a problem, but the three triangular shaped ones needed the sills lowered by about three inches. The installers were able to secure the frames to the wall joists, seal the exterior side and have the inside frames ready for drywall (done by a sub-contractor - Oswego Drywall Installers) the next day.
The job was done very efficiently, and they cleaned up everything before they left. The windows are excellent and keep the rooms quiet and warm. I am definitely having
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
complete the remaining windows on the top floor once I save up for them.

"It went terribly. Let me be clear: DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. IT HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE WE HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. After placing the order on October 2, we called the salesman to make sure everything was in order. He was out and we left a voicemail for him. He never returned our phone call. Then, on October 10th, growing nervous with the lack of communication, I spoke to a receptionist, who said that the order was never placed! I gave her our VISA number, and placed the order again. This time, I asked for a copy of the sales receipt, which
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
emailed us.
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
said the window would be ready in two to three weeks, but that they would call us with an exact date. But NO ONE EVER CALLED. In the meantime, we continued calling
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
back, with the same question: "When will the order be ready? We are all awaiting its delivery so the job can begin in earnest." Our calls were never returned. My husband called repeatedly; I called several times; and the contractor himself called three times. Each time we were given the same answer: "We will have someone call you back with the date." But they never did. When we called the president of the company,
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
Hunt, we were told he was unavailable, and his voicemail box was "full." Finally, we called again today, because the sheetrockers were here, ready to demolish the outer wall, where the window would go. The contractor called
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
yet again, to the same run around. I then called, reached a salesman, who said he would look right into it and get back to me. He did not. I called again, and reached a receptionist. I told her of our growing exasperation, and she put me on hold. Then, she got back to me: "The reason you don't have a date is that the order was never placed." What?! I told her we had a receipt from
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and a VISA bill showing that
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
was paid for the order on October 10th! I told her we had tried calling
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
at least a dozen times and
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
had never returned our calls! The receptionist was not contrite, however. "We can place the order today, and the window should be ready in three weeks." How can you trust a company like that? There was no apology, no offering to "make things right." We tried calling the owner again, Mr.
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
Hunt, but were routed to a "full mail box" and told he was out. Needless to say, we are very disappointed in this company. I have asked for our money back and will never deal with them again. All of us, including the contractor, are flabbergasted by the utter lack of professionalism and complete lack of follow-through and ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE of
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
.

"We are currently working with
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
. He is very knowledgable about attics, and passionate about doing the job right. His website and blog is extensive, and details several of his projects from start to finish. He has also taken us to visit other clients' homes, where we were able to see and experience his finished work, in addition to the fire-rated ladder he recommends for our project.
Both the spaces and the ladder were impressive! Everything was sturdy, solidly constructed and very user-friendly. Entrance and exit to the attics was safe and easy, and looks to be a huge improvement over our current situation.
Beyond the ladder,
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
also suggests moving the opening of the attic, so that we can more easily access the available storage space. I have no doubt that
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
will create a safe and very usable attic space for us in the near future.

"It eventually was fine. When replacing the locking mechanism didn't improve the ability to open and lock
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
,
Portland Door Installers Provider Name Locked
came back and fixed it. I was initially kind of annoyed that he didn't suggest further action when that didn't solve the problem, but he came back and was great about it. My front door was stuck forever and now I can finally use it! I have no complaints other than they seem kind of expensive.
