Portland Closet Designers Reviews

"The stellar service started with an outstanding receptionist/dispatcher, continued with great follow up communication, and wrapped up with shockingly helpful and efficient repairs to several items in our house.
A handyman from a different company flaked on us less than a week before we had sleepover guests to our new house. One bedroom door and the bathroom door needed to be repaired, because they wouldn't close and no one wants to see their friends on the toilet... I found
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
on Angie's list and called.
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
took my call and I explained that I was hoping to have handyman services within the next two days, but I needed it to be in the evening... Was there any
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
this was possible? She got to work trying to figure out a solution for me. She contacted a handyman,
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
Hicks, that lived in the same outlying area as me, and he worked out his kids' schedule so that he could come out to our house the following evening at 5:30... Exactly as I had requested. He even started work at noon the day of our appointment so that we wouldn't have overtime charges! (I just about fell out of my chair when I heard that.)
We had a laundry list of small items, intending to take advantage of the 3 hour first time deal. Ultimately, he worked so fast that he was only here for 2.25 hours, which is what we were charged for. We were happy - and we got our evening back early!
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
quickly tackled every problem we sent his way. Some were due to issues we hadn't thought of (mostly our 50 year old house settling), and his solutions were more insightful than what we would have thought to try. We would have worked these things to death and never understood the root causes. I'm so glad we skipped that step and went straight to
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
.
Nothing was much of a surprise to him until he got to the side door with the 50-year old lock. We wanted a diagnosis because we had been unable to operate the lock reliably and had stopped using that door. We figured we had to replace the lock but wanted his professional opinion. He quickly figured out that the internal workings were loose, and wanted to open up the lock to tighten it. This is a really weird old-school lock, and he couldn't figure out how to get into it. Finally he
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
upon that great resource, Google, and figured it out. (When I say "finally," the whole thing took him about 15 minutes.) How he even knew what to type into Google is beyond me. Then he called us over and gave us an education about how to operate the lock, and even what trick you need to know to remove the top of it in case we ever wanted someone else to service it. He explained it all clearly and efficiently.
Another note about
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
and scheduling: She took our number home so she could follow up with us after hours, since I had requested a call back that day but
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
's schedule wasn't confirmed until after the office closed. I work in a job where we send techs out and I honestly say I was floored by the level of customer service we received. I'm even inspired to do better in my own job.

"This service was both very good and not so good. The best thing is that the pantry looks great and it is exactly what we wanted. The shelves fit exactly and it looks very nice. There were some communication problems. After
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
came out to measure the shelves, he emailed a bid. It seemed high to me, although I don't know the typical cost of a service like this. I emailed him to ask if the price included the discount promised on Angies List. I didn't hear from him so I called and left voice mail. After a day or so he called back to say that he hadn't received my email and that the price did include the discount,( although it wasn't shown on the bid or invoice.)I called him to say that we would go ahead with the work. Then I didn't hear anything back. After a few days I called again and he said that I needed to call the office and put half the money down. I did that, and then waited to be called to schedule the work. I didn't hear anything so after a few days I called
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
to schedule the work, but he said I needed to do that through the office. I think the office could have gone ahead with the scheduling when I called to make the deposit. It seemed like their communication process was less than it could be.
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
and an assistant came out to do the work. They were on time, and the shelves look great. But when they asked me to come and inspect the job, I noticed that they had broken the floor of the pantry. It was only particle board, and it was probably easy to break it trying to fit the shelves in the small space. But they didn't mention it, so either they didn't see it, or were hoping I wouldn't. When I mentioned it,
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
measured the floor, and came out the next morning, at the promised time, to replace it. It makes the whole pantry look complete, so we are very happy with the final job. It was just bumpy along the way.

"They did an excellent job from start to finish and were very open to design ideas and changes. We would recommend them highly."
A
"They have done the work well. They were the most inexpensive company I had talked with. They were very co-operative. My wife had found them through a friend. I would use them again in the future."
A
"They were prompt with the estimate and to show up to measure for it. Had the price within a week, and scheduled the install for the next. Had 2 master closets done, and a work area in the garage, as well as a storage unit for long handled brooms, etc.

The installers were hard working and efficient and punctual. The job was completed in a timely manner."

"They were great. They did a great job. They were thorough. Their price was acceptable. Obviously everybody would like to get the work done for a little cheaper but they did a great job. They did excellent work. My father-in-law is quite tricky, he's been in the trade and he watched them install it. He was very pleased with the quality of their work, their professionalism, their cleanliness and the way they did things. I'm thrilled with the outcome too."

"If you are not interested in reading all of the following details of our remodel, we want to emphasize how happy we are with our completed project and we would highly recommend
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
and
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
to do any remodel job or home improvement project. After receiving the architectural drawings we got a firm, detailed bid from
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
. After revisions and accepting the bid, we signed a written contract with
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
that followed the architectural drawings and had everything we wanted in our remodel and explained in detail with a dollar amount what was included: plumbing, HVAC, windows, interior doors, sliding doors, foundation, drywall, electrical, roofing, insulation, demolition, interior finish carpentry, tile work, siding, oak flooring. and the specifics of cleanup. We covered the choice and cost of special lighting, plumbing fixtures including shower doors, cabinetry in the kitchen and bathrooms (including counter tops), bathroom towel fixtures, bathroom tile, exterior doors and hardware).
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
had subcontractors for electrical work, HVAC, flooring, carpentry, and electrical. We had prior experience with a house painter who we wanted to use and it was not included in
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
's bid. Once work began, we found that we preferred to use a tile installer that we had previous experience with and the allowance for the tile installation was subtracted from our contract and we paid the tile installer directly.
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
was agreeable to all of these changes.
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
gave us a timely and reasonable bid for these other work orders for some other small changes that we wanted. As far as the extent of the work involved in the remodel:
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
removed walls dividing the living room and dining room, moved the kitchen to the dining room location and the dining room to the kitchen location, vaulted the ceiling in the living room and added three skylights, added a deck and roof off the kitchen, relocated two bathrooms, added 12 feet to the end of the house thus enlarging the master bedroom and the third bedroom turning it into a studio with vaulted ceiling and two skylights and added an exterior deck to the studio. In addition, we had a walk-in closet added to the master bedroom.
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
acted as
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
's foreman and helped coordinate the work. Either
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
or
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
were at the job site every day from the end of November until the job was completed by our move in date of 3/17. Also, the contract included adding storage space, drop down ladder and sheet rock in the garage. That work couldn't be done while we stored household belongings in the garage so it was done in the next week as we emptied out the garage to make room for the drywallers to hang the sheetrock. There was no part of this project where
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
disappointed us and didn't perform over and above. We would highly recommend him. If he doesn't perform the work himself, his subcontractors and foreman,
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
, do the work meeting all expectations.
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
is easy to work with and made this remodel as easy on us as possible. No remodel goes exactly as expected except this one. The changes we made during the process caused no problems for
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
and we stayed within budget. Although there were some additional costs (such as adding a pantry in the garage), they were choices we made during the process of seeing our vision come together. I am only sorry there are no opportunities to post photos of the before and after. Everyone would be amazed.

"Ours is an old house and has some peculiar features. In every case,
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
has been creative and careful in working on our home. He and his crew have been professional, friendly, and easy to work with. He is honest, on time, and on budget. There are few cases where I can unreservedly recommend a company or individual. This is one."

came into an extremely cluttered and disorganized home. I am a single mom to a 1 year old boy and moved into my house about a month before my son was born last summer. So I really had never gotten my house in any sort of order. Combine that with my natural lack of organization and you can imagine what a disaster my house was!
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
came over for a quick intake prior to her first session - during the intake, she walked through my house, asked me questions about what i wanted, and helped me create a list of tasks to complete prior to the session. *i should point out that she also made it clear that, if i wasn't able to complete the tasks, it was totally ok.* She arrived at my home for the session and brought an assistant with her. while her assistant got started on the pile of dishes in my kitchen,
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
gave me small tasks to do while she started sorting through my living room, dining room, hallway, and kitchen. when the 4 hours were up, she had completely revamped my home. since i rarely (if ever!) used my dining room, she turned it into a playroom for my son - and now it gets used every day! she organized my crafting area, decorations, clothes, paperwork, and so much more. she also gently helped me sort through things to donate. she never pressured me to get rid of things i wanted to keep, but she also helped me see how much of my *junk* i didn't need. her caring attitude and approach made this process SO much easier for me, and helped encourage me to continue keeping my home organized. the systems she made for me make it a lot easier for me to keep the house clean!!! i highly, highly recommend her - she is awesome!

"Overall, it went very well. As one would expect, there was dust, etc., during the fitting, but not bad. When we had a small problem with one shelf area,
Portland Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
came out personally to bring a new shelf and put it in. We love the bed, the look of the wall, the whole unit! "
