"The owner or manager gave me a quote over the phone and scheduled the visit. They could have come much sooner but this was scheduled after the tiles surrounding the tub were re-grouted. A technician showed up a few days in advance to verify that this was a regular project with no surprises. The technician arrived as scheduled and performed the work. He used fans and vented the fumes out the bathroom window. The scheduler had warned of the fumes so the appointment was not when young children would be in the house.
The tub looks beautiful and like new. I was given a choice of patterns for the non-skid surface. The reason for the B rating is that the diamond pattern was applied using tape to create the grid and the diamonds are not symmetrical, however they cannot be seen without looking closely.
I had delayed this project many years for fear the tub would become slippery. It is not and a delight to use."

"The refinisher came in and scrapped the tub first and prepared the surface for the new finish. Then he taped up plastic sheets all around the room to keep the spray where it is supposed to go. He looked like a man from the hazmat unit with his uniform on. Since my bathroom is small, it did smell for a couple of days. But it was not unbearable. It looks beautiful and I hope to keep it that way for years to come. I will definitely treat the surface with more care than before it was refinished."

"Went very well - very punctual in providing an estimate and performing the work. Price was as quoted and work was completed on schedule. Great job of masking off fixtures and floor tile and cleaning up after themselves."

"The contractor showed up exactly on time as scheduled. Job was done in one day--half day prep work, half day refinishing. We took the sink to their shop for refinishing because they said they could achieve a better result, and it did come out beautifully. They brought it back when they came to do the tub on site. They couldn't promise that a hairline crack in the sink would be fixed, but it is completely invisible now. The tub is in a very tight area and we realized after it was done that they had missed a spot that would have been hard to access. We called and they came out and touched it up perfectly, and buffed out a scratch we noticed. The only downside to the job was the fumes that the process creates--if we had known that, we would have waited for warmer weather so we could have the windows open---the house reeked for 3 days of volatile fumes. Also, we didn't realize it was just a paint process--we have several cats, and in hindsight we should have really vacuumed and cleaned the area thoroughly in advance. In spite of the prep they did--by hand with a razor blade-there are still areas where you can see fine cat hairs in the paint. Still, it looks perfect overall, and we are very happy with the result. They do a good job of educating how to care for the surface afterward, too. "

" hires sub-contractors (to limit cost) They are inconsistent in the estimates & promises -- all the while sacrificing the client as they stand behind their workers. The sign reads, "A tradition of excellence", but I think "The initiation of failure". Please watch your dealings with them. Prior to work, a letter was sent stating they could place a on my house. The tile company was the main problem. They were supposed to be great; however, dealing with the son was very difficult as I personally found him to be passive-aggressive and less than truthful and speaking for the father who he claimed didn't speak English well. I could not find out if they were licensed as Mr. (from ) did not know their last name. They misread the instructions and laid the tiles in the wrong pattern and placed the white stripe/border in the wrong position. Even when faced with this they took no responsibility for doing so – making excuses and recreating math to show they were correct and it was my fault.
Mr. stood by his workers and tried to cajole me into accepting financial responsibility to get it done all over again. All the while Mr. would vacillate promising me the "job isn't done until it's done to your approval". When I finally told him I had hired someone else. He quickly made a grand gesture to allow the same tilers to fix the mistakes and complete the job. I was specifically told by Mr. , if they did it ( his son) than it would "cost you nothing". Then I was e-mailed an estimate for $774.41 including mud/paint the walls.
So I canceled the professional and allowed them. Job was OK, but they were careless around my house (e.g. not flushing toilet, fingerprints). Then I was told they don't mud/ paint. Again Mr. wanted me to pay half for this part in light of the fact that his workmen who caused it to be redone. I agreed to get my shower again.
Again at 's office to finalize the arrangements I was presented with a bill (but was told I didn't have to do final pay until the job was done & I was satisfied). The new amount was >$2,000 not the $774.41 as previously agreed. Mr. couldn't figure out how his associate came up with the 774, as I owed $2K. At that point I walked out and sent a cashier's check via certified mail for the $774.41.
Deception, excuses and inferior workers (with unknown CCB ratings or licenses). The original painter he used got paint on the grout (prior to my need to replace it) and put actual masking tape over new paint, ruining it and causing me to pay someone else to repaint it.
ONE EXCEPTION was Pat the floor person. He appeared to do a good job, was neat, punctual and very easy to work with and have in my home. I would definitely hire Mr. again, but NOT if he were associated with .
* Update *
The owner has since contacted me and says that he is going to attempt to repair the situation."

"I called and left a message and my call was returned quickly. He gave an estimate over the phone and we arranged a time that worked around my schedule. They showed up timely and finished the job that day. He also provided some additional help with installing a new drain unit. Very helpful and the price was reasonable."

"The job progressed well and the work was done in just over three weeks. Anyone that has done a bathroom or kitchen remodel knows that this is very fast. They also know that the cost of this job was reasonable. The person doing most of the work was very pleasant to work. The end result was great. The tile work and paint quality was first rate. The modern plumbing fixtures and glass sink brought a contemporary look. Opening up the shower transformed the shower from a dark hole to a light a airy delight. "

"Excellent experience overall. 's bid was competitive and seemed very fair. He actually charged us $25 less than he quoted because he did not have to do all of the repairs he anticipated. was responsive, professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and easy-going. He returned calls promptly. When he was running a few minutes late, he called to let us know. He answered all our questions and really seemed to know what he was doing. We have a 1943 tub that has been refinished at least once before by previous owners, and had some surface damage. The final result is a gleaming, clean, neat, beautiful tub that looks like new. He offers a 10-year guarantee on the work, so we expect the finish to wear well. He even came the day after the initial work for some minor follow-up grouting and caulking without extra charge. "

"It did not go well. They did the work twice and had some glaring errors in finish. They said that they could them out, but I expressed my concern about taking the finish back down to the enamel, which had tested positive for lead. He could not reassure me about the safety of the seal if he were to the finish. He did not offer any other solution. After they repeated doing the job and I still was unhappy, the foreman told me I did not have to pay. A few months later I received a bill in the mail. When I said he had told me I did not have to pay, he tried to guilt trip me about having to pay out of pocket. I finally said I would pay half, just to end this mess."

"There were multiple issues with the work. Most while he was here. But once the job was finished and I had sent the check, I realized there were more issues. I then stopped payment of the check. I did this because of a shower door installation that they did. He finished the job before the caulk was dry so I didn't get a to inspect it until the next morning and it was a very poor job. Because the caulk dried clear I noticed that he had pieces that were cut jaggedly and a piece that he had cut wrong was turned the other way that he had tried to hide and he didn't even mention it to me. There were many tiles that had to be pulled up after the grout was put down because it wasn't glued properly. There were six tiles that had to be replaced. Lastly, I noticed another problem where my toilet was leaking after he had to put it back in. I emailed the the company, which was our regular communication, to see if they would fix it. They never responded. I wouldn't recommend him for tiling work. I've now had to reorder all of these things so I can have them put in the right way."
