Audiology reviews in Portland

I would like to say that a hearing checkup with
Portland Hearing Loss Provider Name Locked
is an educational and spiritual experience. Throughout the exam he combines his scientific understanding of the hearing mechanism and the importance of hearing to our general health, with the perfect empathy for a patient going through the process of coping with a hearing loss. He was quite diligent while explaining my hearing issues in a way I could understand. He let me try out a hearing device to demonstrate how it could improve my life. Then he went the extra mile calling my insurance companies to verify my hearing coverage. He was compassionate in discussing my options. Thank you,

. I sincerely recommend you to those in need of a hearing specialist.

Did extensive internet research for hearing aids including hearing aid user forums. Called Hearing Planet online and was referred to Dr
Portland Hearing Loss Provider Name Locked
.She has a Doctorate of Audiology from Arizona State. We met weekly for about a month as she checked my hearing aids and made a few adjustments. My internet research indicated that the Audiologist is far more important than the brand of hearing aids you choose. Dr
Portland Hearing Loss Provider Name Locked
has all of the brands I had looked into. I think that is important because she is not recommending just one brand to everyone. After getting my new hearing aids , I am very pleased.
I found that I could enjoy music again at a level I had forgotten about.
I finally went to be tested because I could not hear very well, or at all, many dialogues in movies, my grandchildren, and young , female voices ( clerks , etc.).
I believe the fitting and choice of device by Dr
Portland Hearing Loss Provider Name Locked
is the reason I am so pleased with the results.

It went well overall. I was very pleased with the new Phonak hearing aids which are in the ear. She showed me how to insert batteries and wax traps. When I found a crack in one of them later, it was repaired with a nominal or no charge. The office also provides battery replacements as needed.

The hearing testing was fine. However, the recommendation for treatment was not. My hearing test revealed a marked hearing loss. I knew this, that's why I went to this office - to see if and how much my hearing had deteriorated, and to find out if anything could be done. I met with the physician (

) who immediately put me on a fast track to bilateral cochlear implants. This sounded reasonable during our discussion, but I said I would need more information about the procedure and the implants themselves. I was told they would give me the information I needed. I scheduled two follow up visits, a second hearing test, and an MRI of my brain. I was given a DVD about cochlear implants. I watched it. It was an advertisement by the leading manufacturer of the implants. There was no scientific data, and no objective findings re: patient outcomes. I immediately cancelled the follow up appointments I made. This is a huge decision to make, and it is ridiculous to expect someone to make it on the basis of an advertisment! It makes me think this procedure is a cash cow for the clinic.

was very nice, and listened to all of my concerns. Checked my ears and gave me a hearing test in a testing room. I was told no treatment was necessary. She was very personable.
