What I liked most about
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
is that they answered the phone and provided same day service. My "repair" was small (switch the way the door of my fridge opens, and install levelers to the fridge and then level it), so the first few installation and repair places I called said they would not come out.
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
came out within 15 minutes of my phone call.
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
, the technician, was friendly and professional. The job was initially estimated over the phone to take 30 minutes and be $81. However, there were some snags (not sure if it was due to a persnickety unit, or not), and it took an hour and cost $120. It's a bit more than I'd like to pay for a non-electrical repair, so I did give a "B" rating to their pricing.
I will use
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
again, primarily because they were responsive, had great availability and were not condescending or rude, which is honestly a bit of a challenge to find in repair services in my experience.

Our fridge died yesterday morning. It was at least 20 years old, maybe 30 or 40, so we couldn't complain.
But it turns out to be really hard to replace a fridge quickly, and inconvenient to live without one (especially in summer), so we called
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
for an urgent diagnosis and, if possible, repair.
They sent someone out within a couple hours of our call.
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
was very knowledgeable about fridges ancient (like ours) and modern. He's also a very clear explainer and gave it to us straight, about what was clearly wrong and what else might also be wrong. He was also very clear about what our options were, what each would do for us, and what it cost.
Specifically, he gave us the option of a new fan motor, which cost $50, as a probably-short-term repair that might keep the fridge working until we could get a new fridge.
He said the compressor was probably on its last legs, too, but a new compressor would cost $800 - $900, not worth it.
So far it's working.

To start out, the installers themselves are very nice and professional. Other than the second installer not having what he needed to finish the job, I have no complaints with the actual installers.
I have had a total of 3 attempted dishwasher installs; the first required me to have a plumbing issue resolved which I took care of but which left my old dishwasher non-functional.When the installation was rescheduled for a week and a half later (Thursday, 8/14), the installer did not come prepared with the necessary equipment to extend the electric and apparently no other install vans were near enough to bring him what he needed. He was able to get my install rescheduled for the next day, Friday 8/15 between 2pm and 6pm. I waited at home that entire afternoon and the installer was no call/no show.
I spoke with customer service the following Monday and her response was less than satisfying. She replied with a bland apology and informed me that she could get me back on the schedule for Thursday or Friday. I asked if that was the best she could do and was told that that was the first available, but she would let me know if there were any cancellations.
Since
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
is a Lowes subcontractor, I decided to call them to see if they could help work out a solution. Lowes Installations was not able to get any better resolution other than telling me that
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
was going to try to see if they could move some things around, but I was still scheduled for Thursday.
The customer service response to two botched install attempts was underwhelming and disappointing. An appropriate response to this situation would be a sincere apology, an understanding of my inconvenience on two consecutive days and the ongoing inconvenience of being without a functioning appliance. A further acceptable response would involve sending an installer back out in a timely manner – not when it is most convenient for

.
At this point, my dishwasher is not installed, an email to the company has not been met with a response, and I have no idea when my scheduled install time slot is if it is indeed Thursday.

This is my fourth review for
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
and again I am giving A's across the board. They consistently provide the best service of any company I have ever encountered. Our dryer was squeaking when it ran, and it finally even stopped working. From the initial call to the office to the end of the job, they were perfect.
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
arrived right on time, determined the problem, and had the thing running like new within 20 minutes. And often it's the seemingly small things that make impressions -- I asked
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
if he happened to have boot-covers (he was going to work upstairs, and we have carpet) and he pulled them right from his bag.
It is usually
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
who comes out to us, but this time it was
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
, and he was equally friendly, helpful, and professional. I always call
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
first. Really, there is no one else!

The technician was great, arrived on time, very courteous, came prepared with the part that was needed, and fixed the problem right away.
I gave a B on professionalism only because the back office seems a little unorganized. When I originally called to schedule my appointment I gave my model # and serial # of the washer. I also explained that I was using a coupon from Angie's list and it was prepaid, and I gave the coupon #, etc. I was never asked what was wrong with the washer, but after I got off the phone I sent an e-mail describing the problem.
A couple days before my appointment I got a phone message asking what my model # was and asking what the problem was with the washer. I had already provided this information but I called again to give it to them again, apparently they had set me up twice in the system, and one of the instances did not contain the info on the model #, etc. I also don't think they ever processed my e-mail describing the problem, so I explained this again. I also explained a second time that I had purchased the coupon on Angie's list.
When the technician came out he did not know that I had prepaid with the Angie's list coupon, so I had to explain a third time. This was not the technician's fault, but it was kind of frustrating because I had already explained it to two people at their office and the information never got relayed.
At any rate, I gave them an A overall because they were courteous, prompt, and fixed the problem for a fair price, and I would use them again.

Repairman inspected for the only two moving parts that could cause a noise.
He spent at least 1/2 hour trying to get the noise that I frequently heard to reproduce but it didn't while he was there.
The fan was working fine, no problems with that.
The only other part had to be the compressor.
The refrigerator wasn't worth replacing the compressor so nothing was done.
I ended up having to buy a new refrigerator later that month.

Our KitchenAid Fridge (freezer on the bottom, double door fridge on top) was accumulating water in the bottom of the freezer. When it filled the available space, freezing into a 1" thick solid sheet of ice, water began to leak out the front of the appliance along the bottom of the freezer door, and made a constantly accumulating puddle. I cut the water to the fridge, hoping to stop the leak - no dice. The puddle continued to form.
We gave
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
a call based on the positive reviews on Angie's List. The scheduler was friendly and efficient and offered us an appointment right away.
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
showed up within the promised 2 hour time frame, took one look in the freezer and said "I know what the problem is", gave us an estimate for the job which was accurate to within 5 minutes (he said an hour, he was done in 55 minutes), then proceeded to quickly take the freezer apart, clean out and permanently fix our clogged defroster drain, and put the freezer back together. Other than a few wet rag towels, no
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
, no fuss. He was terrific, and so was the fix.
The little problem? Our ice maker was making "hollow" ice cubes. He noticed and told me I just needed to change out the filter. He could have charged us for a new ice maker and we wouldn't have known any better. I appreciate the honest service.
Will totally call these guys again. It was a pleasure doing business with them.

We had a problem with our LG dishwasher. Many of the appliance repair places will not even repair LGs because it is so hard to get the parts. There were issues with the info that LG gave us as to what the problem was and not sending all the parts. Reliable came several times and only charged us the rate for the final work that had to be done to fix the dishwasher, even though they had to spend a lot of time working with LG.
