"We suddenly has water shooting under the sink from the dishwasher instead of it draining through the tube. A&P had initially installed the unit, so I was glad to see they were so highly rated on Angies List as well. Called and arranged for someone to check on it.

turned up and immediately suspected a mouse had eaten a hole in the tube - he was right! Said he had to order a replacement tube, but that it should be only a couple of days. Again he was right and was back in 2 days with the tube (without asking for any payment for the first visit). All was fixed very quickly, but

also advise on how I could try and prevent mouse entry into the area by jamming steel wool in the hole under the sink! This has been since done! So, thanks for a great job, done quickly, and hopefully the advice to stop these deadly critters from attacking the dishwasher again!

was initially hesitant to work on an LG product and almost walked out of the house without any work, as he usually doesn't work on LG. He then asked a few questions and decided to do a quick inspection. As indicated, he discovered an obviously destroyed circuit board. He also pointed out significant corrosion in the hinges and suggested that replacing the board at this juncture in the life of the machine would be unwise.

"This was not a good overall experience. It was in the middle of a very bad snowstorm, and my refrigerator stopped cooling. When I called
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
, I was told someone could come to repair my refrigerator which was great. I was happy he could come out in the storm, and told him so when he arrived. He diagnosed the problem as being a bad computer board and said the repair would be $518.00. When I asked how much the actual part was, he said $315.00. I was surprised at the price, as my sister had just had the same thing replaced a week before and the total cost of repairs was $298.00. I expected to pay more because it was a snowstorm/Saturday in terms of service call or labor, but the part was almost 3 times what I expected. I was basically stuck without being able to call around to find out it this was fair, and asked if he had a particularly high markup on his parts, which he said "no" to. He fixed the refrigerator, I thanked him for coming out in the storm. After the fact, I found out that I would possibly still be under extended warranty, so that Monday, called around to get what others charged for this part, calling 3 different repair places, including some that were usually in the higher range and got quotes of $135.00--$179.00. I was shocked that it would be so much less than I was charged, so called
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
and asked that the owner call me. When he called and I asked him why the part was so high, he proceeded to yell at me, told me that he could charge whatever he wanted, that it was his business and that I had been rude to him. When I asked him how I had been rude, he said he didn't have to explain. I then asked that he send me another copy of the of the bill with the part number on it, so that I could at least send it in to my extended warranty company to see if I could be reimbursed. It took 2 weeks, 2 phone calls and one letter to receive that, but it didn't have the part number on the copy. Did he fix the refrigerator? Yes. Did he come out in the middle of a snowstorm? Yes. Was I satisfied with the overall service, attitude and price...absolutely not. No one likes feeling ripped off. He was paid well for his service and labor ($203.00 for one hour), but the charge for the part was ludicrously high and I felt he acted in a totally unprofessional manner.

"My service provider showed up on time, diagnosed the problem and went to work. He cleaned out the frozen water and took apart the freezer to defrost the cooling coils. He found the clogged nozzle, cleaned it and cleaned up after putting everything back together. I am so appreciative of his quality work and helpful disposition.

"What they did do....Came out on one of the worst snowstorms Portland has had in 8 years for which I was grateful and told him so on arrival. He diagnosed the refrigerator as having a bad computer board, and replaced that. I fully expected to pay extra for the service call because of the storm, but what I didn't count on was paying 3x more than anyone else for the part. I was charged $315.00 for the part. When he originally quoted this, I specifically asked if he had a large markup on parts, as this seemed quite high and he said no. Because of the weather and the need to repair it and the fact that he was already here and I'd still have to pay a $69.50 service call even if he left, I had to go on good faith that he was being fair. However, on Monday when everyone was again open, I called around to 3 different repair companies, most of which are on the high side and was quoted from $135.00-$179.00 retail for this same part. I called
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
to ask why their part was so high and the woman who answered just said that different companies charge different prices. I asked that the owner call me back. When he did, he yelled that he didn't like "customers like me", that he could charge anything he wanted to, it was his business. He said he told me the cost at the time and that I gave him permission to go ahead with it. That I was rude. When I asked how I was rude, he said he didn't need to go into it. This was a far-from-satisfying experience with a business. Yes, he did repair the refrigerator and it is working. But there is more to running a business and treating the customer than just the repair. I would expect someone to charge fairly for their services and their parts, no matter the weather. And that when I had a perfectly good right to question why it was so high, he didn't need to yell at me and act in a totally unprofessional manner.

"It couldn't have gone better. The technician called and said he was in the neighborhood and was it okay if he came about 15 minutes early. Since I was home waiting for him, it was excellent news. When he arrived he was very polite and solicitous. He was efficient and quickly diagnosed the problem and explained everything. He fixed it quickly and told us to monitor everything closely and call if there were any problems because there was a 30 day guarantee.

"Convenient in scheduling and even changing appointment. On time and thorough. Pretty straight forward service job but I would much rather use
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
than another subzero servicer I have used in the past. Just a better experience all the way around. "

"I am so glad I found this company! I am so satisfied and highly recommend them. From the initial call and scheduling, to the appointment today, I was impressed. I have not had that experience with my previous appliance service company. I got a convenient appointment and
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
was on time (in the middle of the 3 hour window). He was so personable and helpful and even innovative, helping me get our new microwave positioned temporarily until my cabinet guy can come. He even took the old microwave away so that makes life easier. He checked out the dishwasher and the oven and confirmed things were ok. The price for the visit was extremely reasonable ($74). Now I know the reason they are so highly ranked. "

"I made an appointment for Monday January 13th between 8-10 AM. I had diagnosed the problem, provided my refrigerator's model number and stated I am an Angie's List member for a $5.00 discount. The house call would be $79 (-$5), parts and labor would be extra. I asked if it would be helpful if I defrosted the freezer before the appointment. The receptionist said yes, if I wanted to, but it was not necessary. It was easy to make the appointment and was done very courteously. My first contact with The
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
was positive.
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
called at 7:58 AM saying he would be at my home in 20-30 minutes. He arrived in 17 minutes, a bit early with the defrost thermostat in his pocket. He was very polite and knowledgable and asked how I came to diagnose the problem. I told him the symptoms. I had left the back freezer panel off when I defrosted months of ice buildup in the frost-free freezer the night before. He removed and replaced the faulty part and showed me why he knew the part was defective. The old metal defrost thermostat housing had popped open somewhat. The new part is sealed. He explained that the symptoms indicated one of three potential problems, and that I got lucky with my correct diagnosis.
He asked if I knew how to replace the back panel. I explained am a handy woman and have had the freezer back off and reinstalled it previously when thoroughly defrosting the freezer. (Yeah, this problem had been going on for quite some time.) I explained that I have fixed my own washer and dryer in the past, but I have service manuals for those appliances. I explained that I did not know for certain which part was the defrost thermostat, or I would have replaced it.
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
asked again if I was certain that I knew how to replace the back panel, and I assured him I am. He said that defrosting the freezer thoroughly saved me $60, because labor is billed at $20 per 15 minute increment.
My total bill was $125.13.

"When I needed help with refrigerator repair, I first called a big name repair company. They told me their earliest appointment was a week later and then, there would be the wait time for parts. When I called
Portland Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
, they said they could be out the next day. They arrived during the stated time, determined the problem, were honest with how expensive the problem might be and then, gave me excellent advice about what to do next.
