"I see Dr
Portland Acupuncturists Provider Name Locked
at least annually for a physical and in between when something comes up. She's very smart and keys right in on the problem and has effective treatments for the common stuff (colds, etc) as well as for women's health issues. She has seen me when I was happy, sad and frightened and has helped in all those circumstances. Even though my insurance doesn't cover her and I have to pay full price, I continue to go back to her."

"We had several sessions and they really helped. Much less pain. Then I tore my hamstring the day before leaving for a vacation to Thailand. She got me in on the day I was leaving. I'm convinced her treatment saved my vacation! She's great."

"Dr.
Portland Acupuncturists Provider Name Locked
is excellent, she listens to your concerns and allows you to really say what you think is going on with your body. She gives very realistic advice and provides and suggests different ideas within your ability to do. She has a very gentle calm bedside manner which is very soothing and relaxing. You don't feel rushed or pushed along during your appt. She gives you her attention and focus during your time rather than looking at her watch the whole time. Acupuncture results can be immediate as well as some take time to build up to see results. Along with suggestions and sound advice her treatments are amazing... for those in doubt, try some acupuncture and Chinese medicine = far less invasive and procedural than Western medicine. But the other cool thing is she does not hesitate to refer you to someone for specialized services (whether it's a specialist or wanting to work in congruence with your primary care physician = she's awesome about that!) She works really well with my primary care physician and actually had lots of labs completed through my doctor's office = I would have never known that I was actually high in Iron but low in Iodine. I changed my multivitamin to no iron and upped my intake of iodine (seaweed, etc...) But, you shouldn't just take my review, go ahead and check her out...she goes the extra mile for every patient she has! "

"I found this Acupuncturist through Groupons. Because of this, the appointments filled up fast. I was able to get an appointment fairly soon, but when I arrived, I had miss

the appointment time (3 hours early ) and unable to come back for the correct time. The Dr was very understanding and canceled the appointment with no additional charge. I rescheduled an appointment on-line and had to wait an additional 4 weeks for a time that work for me. Since my first initial appointment, I found that my insurance covered acupuncture, so now I am going twice a week to get things started. I am not totally pain free, but much improved after 3 visits."

"He is very thorough and I have found the herbs and treatments to be quite effective. He has an apothecary in the clinic, so he blends everything for you on sight. The entire staff is very friendly and welcoming. The massage therapist is very knowledgable and soothing. She is very aware of age related stresses on the body, so she is able to tailor the massages accordingly. It is very easy to schedule an appointment and they are very accessable. They are also located in a pleasant area of town. "

"I really love them. They are great. He is a single proprietor, so he can take the time to book people far enough so that he can give them very specialized attention. He makes sure that you understand what's going on and what he's trying to do for you. You never have to wait because he takes the time for people. He is extremely knowledgeable. He has so much knowledge that he likes to share. He is very professional in his attention to detail."

" Overall, I feel better - my ankle is almost completely healed and my adrenal fatigue seems to be on the wane. I believe this is due mainly to a massive change in my diet, which is something Dr

is very

on teaching.
But I decided to stop seeing him about a week ago. His original pitch to me was that the treatment could last up to two years. I say 'pitch' because that's what it felt like - a sales pitch. The first appointment is $200 and that covers an initial consultation (mine took about 45 minutes) and a 'follow up', about half an hour. I was under the impression that the follow up would be him having considered what we'd talked about and telling me what the treatment would be - but it was just a sales pitch about how he structures his prices and what it was going to cost me to see him. And I didn't feel like he'd even looked at my file since our first appointment - he just repeated what we'd gone over by looking at his notes. I was really disappointed - I felt like my time had been wasted with the appointment. His appointments are fairly pricey - and he doesn't accept any health care plans, so it's all out of pocket. I was paying over $100 for most appointments (including some supplements) that tended to last about half an hour.
In addition to these issues, I am not altogether sold on the concept of muscle testing, which is how he does much of his diagnosis. I have had it done before and in both cases, I felt there were times where the practitioner was pushing harder against my arm or leg when they were expecting a certain outcome, and less so when they wanted a 'weaker' response, so that several times when he said "See, you've got no strength there around this" I felt like saying "umm.. but you weren't pushing as hard.."
So I have decided on balance not to see this doctor any more. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, because he had come highly recommended, but I couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right and that I was spending an awful lot of money for something I can't quite accept as a reliable method of treatment.

"I just love him, he's wonderful. My daughter referred him to me because he really is a

. The visit was great. He takes time to really assess how you're doing and what you've done in the last couple of weeks. He is very knowledgeable and he shares his knowledge. He is extremely welcoming, the décor is very relaxing and rooms are inviting. You never get the feeling that he's rushed. He schedules it in such a way that you never have to wait. He is very professional about what he does. It's just him and he does everything. He is very efficient."

made it so easy and relaxing, that I took a deep nap on the table while the needles "did their work."

has made her treatment space so inviting and cozy...and her sense of humor and straightforward explanation make it fun to see her. I so appreciate practitioners, both in Western and Eastern medicine, who are willing to refer when it is clear a different line of treatment is needed.

did this in regards to my knee, stating I needed to see a orthopedist specialist (and in the meantime, and after I had a diagnosis, treated me for pain and inflammation). I also appreciate when time is taken to find the root of an issue, rather than just treating "over" it -- I've had weird rib pain for a while, and

tackled it (and conferred with a collegue) until she got it figured out. All in all,

"She really made the pain go away in the first treatment. She told me to get off Lipitor and that made a real difference in my muscle pain. The office is relaxing, clean and inviting. After 3-4 visits the change in my pain level was amazing. I would highly recommend
