"The job was scheduled and the installer called as promised in advance during a window of three hours. He was prompt and efficient, however he was messy! I guess it is a messy job, but I didn't expect to have to clean up so much water and debris. ...more The old hot water heater hadn't busted completely, it was a slow leak and we replaced it in an effort to be proactive. We were happy we did so, to avoid a major clean up. The water and debris left behind were more than a mild inconvenience, but nothing too drastic! I would hire this company again. "

"Extremely knowledgeable service man. He quickly disassembled the heating unit and cleaned out the debris. He gave me hints on how to improve the service of the unit and piping delivery of hot water throughout the house. The plumber who installed the ...more unit was not able to fix the problem when he came to service it. I highly recommend
when buying or obtaining service on hot water heaters. "

A storage tank water heater must maintain hot water even when not in use, but a tankless water heater provides endless hot water in minimal space.

Pittsburgh Water Heater Installers Reviews
"Received call from on-call plumber within 20 minutes. He gave exact price over the phone (Nice - gave us the option of trying someone else). Arrived when he said he would and completed the work faster than we thought. He took the old water heater away and left the area spotless. He was very personable and pleasant (not always the case with on-call ...more persons). The price was steep because of the emergency; we had house guests due that same evening.
Although we like our usual plumbing company, they do not have 24 hour service. "
"I called and left a message with the answering service the evening and they returned my call within 10 mins. Made an appt for the next day. They called the first thing in the morning to let me know the time to expect the service man. He arrived on time, introduced himself and explained to me what work was needed and the costs. Installed the water ...more heated in less than an hour. cleaned up, and explained the warranty and bill to me. He was very professional. Thank you Mr
"Called yesterday morning about a leaking water tank. Was not an emergency situation yet. Was quoted about $500 for tank and installation with a 6-year guarantee. I had received quotes from other companies that were about $800 and up. Was told that I would get a call between 8:00-8:30 the next morning to schedule visit. They requested the model and serial ...more number of the unit I had, so that they could have the proper replacement available. Got call at about 8:20. Scheduled to arrive between 9:00-10:00. Arrived at 9:30. Was advised that I would need to get the water heater replaced, as opposed to any repairs. He explained why. Replacement took about an hour or so. While he was there, I asked about a water pressure regulator that I was suggested several months ago that I should have installed.
guy agreed that this was a probable reason why the water tank failed. Installed regulator for $150. His sharp eyes detected a leak in the regulator. Replaced at no charge. Explained why the regulator probably caused the situation in the first place. Suggested that he leave the old water heater on my front yard for the garbagemen to collect, but joked that someone else may pick it up, probably for scrap. Indeed, within a few hours, somebody did. Good - no guarantee that the garbagemen would have taken the trouble to lift that heavy thing into their truck.
In summary, an excellent experience. Highly competent plumber. Would definitely recommend to anyone. "
"I don't know what's different since the last posting, but I had a super experience. I have a home warranty and they contract with
to replace (at least my) water heater. I called in the afternoon on Tuesday and they were here by noon on Wednesday.
was very professional, explained everything ...more about the work he was doing and cleaned up after himself. My out-of-pocket was the $75.00 service fee plus the $25.00 permit fee for the County that the warranty company would not cover (permit is needed for any new hot water heaters installed).
even kindly checked out the status of a leaking faucet to see if it would be covered by the warranty (it's not), which I really appreciated knowing without incurring another service fee only to be told it wouldn't be covered. Again, I had a great experience. I was informed up front of any possible costs when I called to schedule the appointment (including any possible fees to make my 1993 water heater up to code - which didn't apply because it was ok) so there were no surprises. I had a 40
hot water heater replaced with a new energy efficient one. Life is good. "
"The morning of the scheduled appointment, the office contacted us to tell us they do not service our brand of water heater. Despite the fact that we made the appointment days in advance and scheduled our work hours around the service, there was no service performed. When I called the office to ask why this was determined on the day we made the appointment, ...more I was told they'd just hired new office staff and the new employees were not well informed enough to know they should not have scheduled our service. The office manager (
) was very concerned and polite and offered coupons for service, but I can't enter into a business relationship with a company who allows appointments to be made and customers to reschedule their days and then cancels on the day of scheduled service. I understand that the new employees didn't know, but the appointments made by the new employees should be reviewed at the end of each day. We are looking for a company to provide service on a long-term basis, as we have opted to not use our previous provider for exactly this cancellation problem. Very disappointed, as I normally rely on the reviews on Angie's List. "
"Was prepping dinner and went to wash my hands... no hot water. Went down to the basement and found the missing hot water: two inches deep on the basement floor, leaking from under the old water heater (tank rusted out). I turned off the water supply to the now ex-water-heater, turned off the heater itself, cleared the basement drain to get rid of ...more the standing water and then logged into Angie's List for plumbers in the Pittsburgh area.
at the top of the list, gave 'em a call... they had a team knocking on my door in 30 minutes, and two hours later the old water heater was drained, new one installed and heating up, and the old one packed up in their truck. All this while the snow was falling, ice everywhere - they were packing water heaters up and down the two flights of stairs to the front door and around a tight corner down into the basement.
Hats off to
Rheem Pronto tankless water heater would heat for a minute and then turn off. Called
about three weeks back. Tech came, reviewed the error code sheet that I printed up, tried for a bit and left when he couldn't determine the cause. Water heater worked on and off and finally gave up this week.
sometime early Tuesday afternoon and left message. Received a call back immediately. Temperature was below zero all day and they were booked solid. Received a call around 6 PM stating that they could send a guy over shortly.
arrived around 7 30, reviewed and repaired the tank, and by 8 30 PM, we had hot water.
All good. "
