Home Remodeling Reviews in Pittsburgh

Today I arrived home to find my property damaged, with mounds of dirt stacked up against my willow tree, my grass destroyed, tree limbs cut, and shrubbery uprooted. Without permission the company routed their bobcat through my lawn, destroying everything in its wake and leaving a huge mess. If the tree is permanently damaged we will have an even bigger problem.
never bothered ask, much less inform me of the damage to my property. Before a project, a company is required to ascertain property lines when they pull a permit.
trespassed on my property and damaged it. Totally unprofessional. A huge F to them.

I did not hire him and informed him the following day so that his schedule would not be disrupted. He appeared to have had the experience and knowledge to do the job. It was the price that put me off.

was wonderful. He always came exactly when he said he would. He is very careful about installation, so everything went perfectly. He installed new cabinets and a new floor. I love my new kitchen and would call

did an amazing job on a full gut renovation. Extremely concerned with client's satisfaction. They took pride in creating the final product and often went well beyond what was expected in quality and design. Most of the problems that were encountered, they handled themselves and I didn't even know it was a problem until after it was fixed. The only negative comment I have is that the project went beyond the expected schedule. However, it was a massive project and some delays are to be expected. I know that they did everything they could to complete as close to on-schedule as possible.

actually approached me about remodeling work when he came to my home one day to pick up his son, whom I had hired to perform some yard work. I explained that I had a number of projects that needed to be done, but that I remained unwilling to hire anyone because I had not yet recovered from several terrible experiences with contractors. He explained that he lives in my housing development and certainly cannot afford to do perform poorly in his own neighborhood. And I signed those contracts.
The experience turned out to be absolutely the worst remodeling nightmare I've ever experienced or can even imagine. He refused to itemize the tasks on the contracts, required a very cold work environment because he claimed to sweat profusely, sang to radio music at the top of his lungs while switching words in songs, whenever possible, to obscenities. He arrived an hour late on several occasions and left during the work day to run a personal errand . He cancelled a number of times, sometimes after his starting time, claiming health issues. After one of those cancellations, he told me that he had been so sick that he spent the entire day in bed, but he switched his story when I informed him that I had seen him in his truck a half hour before he was scheduled to be at my home on that day. His replacement story line was that he had driven about fifteen miles to someone else's home and spent the day lying, sick, on their sofa.
The work, which he anticipated would be completed in a week, stretched to a number of weeks and was still not completed. It was then interrupted by my own scheduled vacation, illness, and two sets of houseguests. Finally, he came on a weekend evening to refresh his memory on unfinished work. He sheduled that visit for 6 PM, called at 6 to say he would be 15 minutes late, and didn't arrive until 6:45. One of the outstanding tasks, which I pointed out, was painting in one bathroom; I had thought it odd that he had installed a mirror, fan, wall cabinet, door, door and window casing, baseboard and crown molding in the room before painting, but I didn't care how he worked as long as it was done, and done well. He said he would call on the following day to schedule the work for the following week. However, he called an hour after he left my home to inform me that he hates painting, doesn't paint, and has no idea why he wrote that in the contract! Then he said he decided to just walk away from the job (after I had paid him all but $100 on the contracts).
I filed a claim in district court for the outstanding work, minus the $100 not yet paid, for a total of nearly $1000 plus court costs. It is money that I can ill-afford to

The work in my home remained undone until my sister and a friend pressured me to sign up with Angie's List. I did, and I had an amazing experience. But that's a subject for another review.

The job took about a week. Although it is impossible to have a completely 'dust free' job, this provider takes as many precautions as possible to minimize dust. They did a wonderful job, and we are thrilled with the work. We could have just replaced the worn carpet with more carpet, but are very glad we got the hardwood floors (already installed) refinished.

I left a message to inquire about the demo and removal of a concrete block structure and subsequent masonry work. This company returned my call within an hour to say this was outside the scope of their services. I appreciated the call back. Very professional!

We called many contractors, and after taking a short look, the message was always the same: the whole bathroom floor would need to torn out to get to the pipe, and it'll cost many thousands of dollars.
Pittsburgh Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
, on the other hand, actually took a good hard look at the piping and determined that it could be fixed just through the access panel. He and his helper came and replaced all the drain piping in a day, and it worked!

was extremely thoughtful and creative throughout everything, and I plan to use him for many jobs this summer!
