"
and his team,
and
were excellent. They showed up at the agreed time and got straight down to business. Worked" really hard and had us moved and into our new home in less than 4 hours. They were beyond polite and professional and went above and beyond to make the move as smooth as possible. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to anyone. I should also state that the office was very helpful and professional in their follow up and contact. The young lady on the phone estimated that my entire move should be in the $800 range and it was pretty much bang on!!! Thanks so much!!!

"The entire service was a pleasant surprise. I did not expect how much better the pricing would be compared to the big name movers. I learned that
is not small" time. He carefully determines what will be needed (size of pieces, etc) and has available all kinds of boxes (wardrobe, etc). He dermines the best combination of man-hours to get the customer the best price. He does not waste hours. His workers were professional and nice. From quotes I had gotten from the larger chain movers I think they would have cost double what
charged and my small time move would have gotten big-move pricing.
was recommended to us and I pass on that recommendation. You will be making a good choice.

"I hired them to move furniture only, more than half of which are antiques that can't be replaced, from a 2 bedroom house in WV to our new house in Pittsburgh. I scheduled an appointment" for an estimate and the estimator was very prompt and professional. He explained everything and answered questions. I hired them because up to this point, they were better than their competition. The movers were also on time, very nice, etc., but they were only average as far as skill. I have seen and hired better movers in the past. They did things like use my desk as a surface to wrap up the shelves to my book cases which resulted in scratches in the finish of my desk. I don't expect things to be perfect, it is a move after all and scratches appear here and there. I'm just saying that these are professional movers and should be extremely proficient in taking care of your belongings. For the most part, everything made it to the new house undamaged. As you read below, keep in mind that I did purchase extra insurance through
. I have attached the email chain between me and
regarding damaged property in Photos because there wasn't enough room in this review to paste it in. I did go from very nice to demanding but after so many weeks I had had enough. The mirror (original glass) to my 1870's dresser was shattered during transport. They filled out a damage report and said that they would take it back and have the mirror glass replaced and it would only take a few days. After a week and a half of calling, I finally got to talk to
Lettrich (Operations Manager) about it. He needed me to describe the mirror because he had 3 there and he did not know which was mine. In other words, he did nothing with it but set it among other broken junk. He said that because it was probably a special cut, it had to be taken to a different shop and could not give me a time frame to completion.
never could give me an estimated date that my mirror would be returned; he just said that "he was on the shop's timeline". I told him to call the shop and get an estimated time frame, but he never did. After nearly 4 weeks of calling, getting voice mail, no one returning calls until I had to demand to speak to
, I emailed the Pittsburgh Franchise owners,
and
.
called me (very nice guy) a few hours later and said that the mirror had just come in that day and we scheduled a date/time to deliver it. I do find it a very odd coincidence that the mirror happened to show up the same day as my email went out. They were supposed to deliver it on Saturday between 9 and 10AM. I called at 10:30 to ask why no one has delivered it and was told that I was not on the schedule. I let them know that this did not make me happy. Half hour later, they show up with it. I did get a little rude with
because he was not doing his job. All he had to do was keep me informed as to how long the mirror would take to fix and I would have remained calm. They also damaged my LG front loader washer significantly. The door is VERY scratched; there are gouges in the paint down to the metal and it now leaks. After a week and a half, they finally ordered a door. The dryer is mostly scratch free, btw. The basement stairs are tight, but we could have removed the doors on the machines to make it easier. The movers REFUSED to put this damaged on the damage report because it would count against them! When I talked to
about my mirror, I asked about the door. He said that he ordered it and the wrong part came in and he would have to reorder it. Over 4 weeks after the move, I get a call from
's Appliance who said they were hired by
to replace my washer door. They asked for the model number of my washer and said they would order the part and would call to schedule a time to install it. This means that
LIED about ordering the part and the wrong one came in. In reality, he did NOTHING! I allowed another two weeks to pass, during which time I heard nothing from them, and then I emailed
, Dotti and the officers of the company. I found that I was ignored unless I copied people how matter on my emails. I got the same story that the part was ordered and they will call when it is in. It does not take weeks for a part to come in after you order it! I allowed another two weeks to pass and then I threatened with a report to the Better Business Bureau and/or legal action.
wrote back and basically blamed me for the situation. Apparently
's called and left messages and were waiting to hear from me. I received no calls or voicemails from them. I called
's and scheduled a time/date to have the part installed. One should not have to spend as much time and energy trying to get things fixed as I did. Yes, things get broken sometimes, but do the right thing and fix them, especially when the customer purchased extra insurance. It certainly should not take 2 months to fix a washer! I'm sure that if I did nothing, they would have forgotten all about me.

The first cleaning went relatively ok. We were able to schedule it quickly and two cleaning professionals cleaned for two hours. For the second cleaning, we had to call several times before someone got back to us, which is the reason they offered us an extra cleaning session. That time they sent one cleaner for four-hours, and overall, it was an ok experience. When we tried to set up the third cleaning session, the phone number was no longer in service and they have been unresponsive to emails. Angieslist customer service also attempted to email the company to no avail. Needless to say, this has been a very frustrating experience.

Dragged furniture and broke one piece. We have relocated many times during 30 years. The movers always have been careful to lift up furniture and lower it into place. For
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
, one crew member kept pushing / dragging furniture. He needed to be reminded by another crew member to pick things up. When they carted the last item of furniture into storage, I saw a palm-size piece of wood broken off the bottom end of my wife's dresser. Since the dresser been fine when they left the house, I told them that piece must be on the truck. They then produced the broken piece from a box on the truck into which they had thrown it.
They had clearly known they had broken it and weren't going to tell me! In this case, it was clear that the dresser had been tilted up at an angle and dragged (managing to bypass its own glide), as they had also managed to pull some veneer away from the rest of the dresser bottom.
That dresser had been moved by professional movers three times in the past without incident. It was part of a custom bedroom suite we had special-ordered over twenty years ago, and which we ourselves often moved across the floor when cleaning. However, because it had a particle board substrate, the dresser was excluded from liability, and the supervisor told me there was no point in his filing a damage claim. This move cost us our bedroom suite.

I can't speak highly enough of
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
,
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
and the rest of their team. They were professional, worked like madmen in really bad (meaning hot and humid) conditions, and hauled some serious furniture up a tight flight of stairs. And then they came and provided a quality move out cleaning of our apartment. Even when they were delayed because of traffic, they called to let us know, and then rounded the start time as a courtesy. The guys for both services were polite, friendly, professional and one of the best moving experiences we have had.

We had 3 gentlemen arrive about an hour late. That is the only detrimental comment I have. Our move was from a ranch house full of furniture to a 3 story townhouse. The young men were professional, courteous, and worked their rears off. When one of the workers had a medical problem, a phone call was made and another young man sent out to finish the job. They took great care with our furniture, wrapped the pieces, had doliles, moving blankets, everything they needed. It was a very long day for our move and I felt that the price was fair, our belongings were moved satisfactorly, and the young men were a joy. Would I use this company again--yes!

We purchased an Angie's List "Big Deal": six hours of moving labor for $99. When we went to schedule the move,
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
did not answer the phone, respond to emails or attempts to schedule directly through Angie's List. They apparently have taken the money and run. They deserve an "F" and so does Angie's List for facilitating this fraud. If Angie's List is going to offer "Big Deals" that require payment upfront, it should guarantee that those contractors actually perform the services that have been paid for.

My wife is 76 and is crippled by arthritis. She can hobble along a short distance if she uses her walker. If she has to walk very far, we use her wheelchair. I'll be 70 next month and I am my wife's caretaker. We enjoy our life together, and we plan to live in our house as long as possible. Race Street in Edgewood gets a lot of traffic. It is one-way with parking allowed only on one side (our side). My wife has a reserved handicapped parking place in front of our house. The Borough approved it for her exclusive use. The family that was being moved by the company asked the Edgewood police to prohibit parking in front of three houses (ours and the two uphill from us) for the three days. Temporary signs were put up by the police. PROBLEM # 1: We parked somewhere else Sunday night expecting a moving van to need the space. However there turned out to be no need for any restricted parking on Monday at all. A smaller truck parked in our handicapped space all day long. It was there to bring flat boxes and packing materials and was not visited very much. It could easily have parked in a space behind ours or in front of ours. So we were denied the use of our parking space and car Monday for no reason. We stayed home all day--not our preference, but we did not have any appointments with doctors or such. PROBLEM # 2: We tried to call
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
to find out if they really needed the restricted parking privilege on Tuesday. This was just before 5 p.m. when they close for the day. I quickly discovered that these people were not going to be easy to contact. The phone system has no operator. You can dial in the last name and get connected the voice said. I dialed L-E-E for the company president (the only name I had, from Angie's List). I heard "that is an invalid entry." I pushed "1" for Sales right around 5 p.m. hoping to get someone who could steer me to a responsible person. I was told to wait for the next available representative. This message came on and on, but my wife and I took turns for 40 minutes until our phone battery died. Apparently we could have listened to that message all night (maybe our old wireless phone was smarter than we were). I went to the company website--no luck: no names, no phone extensions, and (this floored me) no email addresses. It was not possible for me to send an email from my account to a company employee's email address. So it seemed we'd have to wait until Tuesday to speak with a company employee. We gave up our parking place early on Tuesday morning after a bit of a squabble a the front door. It seemed the big moving truck was here and at last they really did need the parking places so traffic could pass. Now my wife and I focused wholeheartedly on getting in touch with a responsible person at the company. Finally we reached
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
who said she was the Safety Officer and had management authority. PROBLEM # 3: I told her that Wednesday we needed to get to an appointment at noon, and we wanted to work something out so I could bring the car to the front of the house briefly so I could help my wife down the steps and into the car and off we'd go. The moving van would probably be gone before we returned in mid-afternoon, and maybe it would even be gone by 11:30 when we planned to get into the car.
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
said she thought she could make the necessary arrangements. The truck could move briefly of traffic could be routed around us. She would contact the on-site foreman
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
by phone and email, and notify the dispatcher as well to set up the arrangement. Wednesday morning came and we were parked somewhere else, out of the way. In mid-morning I went over to the truck to speak with
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
and make sure everything was in place. I was shocked when he told me he would not move the truck. I told him that was not what
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
and I had agreed to. He did not seem to care.
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
's authority did not seem to mean much to him. I called
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
and she said she had done the best she could. Now clearly my wife and I were on our own to get our old bodies (her's crippled as well) into our car which was parked down the hill a ways. I helped her down the steps and into the wheelchair which I had placed on the sidewalk by the
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
. I was able to control the wheelchair going down the hill to the car but it was a bit scary. So we got to our appointment in one piece. When we returned the truck was gone, and we parked in our space like we normally do. Back to PROBLEM # 2: Since we were greatly inconvenienced and my wife's safety was at risk by
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
's unwillingness to follow the plan, we wanted very much to speak by phone with or send an email to a top management person at the company and discuss what had happened. Again the company's firewall prevented any contact in spite of some serious attempts. And you know, we were customers of theirs in a move about five years ago. I sent an email to the Better Business Bureau, not to file a complaint, but to see if I could get contact information. I knew about Mr.
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
's name from Angie's, and the BBB added Bill
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
, Public Relations. But no phone extensions or email addresses; just the company's central phone number. Stonewalled by the firewall, and condemned to never being heard? Not by a long shot. My first post is here to Angie's. In a few days the next will be a BBB complaint . Then Yelp and whatever. I can wait until the company contacts me. That takes very little effort. Here is my phone number: 412-243-1940. See, it's not that hard to do.

The person I talked to on the phone was really nice. I ended up changing my move date four times and they were really nice about it. They don't do a visual inspection of your stuff and I think that's a miss. They sent a truck that was too small and needed to make two trips. I saw that same complaint here so the issue is either with their assessment of your items or they can't rent the truck that they want. If so I don't think that I should be penalized. However even with that issue I think that they are reasonably priced and the guys who moved us ((
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
and
Pittsburgh Movers Provider Name Locked
) were very nice, got things where we asked them to put them and were overall very professional. I would use them again and I already recommended them to a friend.
