"Company responded quickly to Angies List request and scheduled an appointment- never showed, never called. Three days later called and blamed not showing up on another customer requiring too much time. Scheduled another appointment- again no show no call. If he is this undependable before the job, I would be quite concerned that he would not show up once a deposit would be given."

"We requested an estimate for a new patio and retaining wall and some restorative landscaping. Pat made 2 visits. First to gather our ideas and take estimates and again to present us with his ideas and estimate. As the project began to take shape we realized that we wanted a covered patio and some additonal features. Through no fault of Pat's, we were running into design obstacles and numerous questions were starting to arise. We also realized that the landscapers we were interviewing could not do the entire job. Many aspects would need to be subcontracted. We were getting bids on a wide spectrum. So, we had to rewind. We then hired an architect to develop a builders set of specs so that we could accurately execute our plan and that contrators were all on the same page when it came to bidding out the job. Since meeting with Pat our project has taken off in a different direction. We appreciate Pat's professionalism, time and patience."

" and his crew were very prompt, polite, professional and respectful. They were extremely hard workers. I admired them---never flinched in the terrible humidity and almost 100 degree temperatures! During each phase of the wall construction, always wanted to be sure that we were completely satisfied with what he was doing. has a good eye for color, which he recommended for the block, and we couldn't be more pleased, not only with the color, but with the entire project! I would recommend Landscaping to anyone and would use Landscaping again in a heartbeat."

" was fantastic. Because it was a tree root that had disturbed the sidewalk, and we live in the city of Pittsburgh, we had to go through the city to deal with the removal of the root. He dealt with the city for us, and filed all the necessary paperwork. While it took the city a while to remove the root, he was ready to pour the concrete as soon as they were done. He also removed and replaced a retaining wall that was collapsing, and removed and repaired a concrete pad that was being pulled down with it.
Both items look fantastic now. showed up early and worked hard, even through the heat wave we had. He paid attention to every detail, and we will definitely use him again."

"I was very impressed with Contracting. They were very prompt in getting me an estimate, arrived on time, and did not pressure me. I received three quotes for the work to be done from different companies, and came in the lowest and had good reviews. I called and asked them to write up a contract and send it to me. I had it within a few days. I had a few concerns with how the contract was written and some of the items I thought were missing. I called and he came back out to my house to discuss my concerns and had me add in the missing items. told me they would be able to start the first or second week of June (contract signed middle of May).
The last week of May I called and he told me they would be able to start the second week of June. They began working on the 9th and worked through to the 12th. They came back on the 14th to do some additional work I requested that was not in the original contract. They showed up around 7am and left around 4 pm each day.
and his crew were very hard workers and made quick progress. The first day they worked it was pouring rain, and they worked the whole day in the rain and mud. The work was completed on Saturday the 12, which is very impressive considering the amount of work that was done. They tore out two old stone retaining walls and old steps, dug out the hill and put down a loose concrete footer for the walls. They put in new concrete steps and leveled out the top portion of my yard. He charged me 12500 for this work.
The work looks great. My only complaint is that the work completely destroyed my back lawn and some of my front lawn. cleaned up the stone and gravel, but did not reseed. I can't complain too much because I did not ask him to quote this work and it was not in the contract. I did not think it would damage my so bad. I can reseed, so it is not a big deal.
After seeing the work that did, I asked him to demo some sidewalk on the side of my house, regrade it, and pour new concrete. He charged me 850 for this and it was finished in a day."

"I did not hire to do a job. I had him come out and quote tearing down a collapsed retaining wall and rebuilding it as a tiered wall system. I called him and left him a message, two days later he called back an set up an appointment. He showed up 20 minutes late from time he told me he would arrive. I showed him a sketch of what I wanted with some rough measurements on it. He came out looked around a bit, he was a fast talker and said he and his had been building retaining walls for years.
I told him I wanted him to take some detailed measurements and not to trust my rough dimensions. He was reluctant, but finally took only one measurement (he measured the width of my yard). I told him I wanted it done in less then a month to which he said would be tight. He said he needed some time to write up the estimate and left. I asked him to provide me some references with the estimate. About three days later he called me and let me know the estimate in a voicemail, and did not provide any references.
He came in 2500 dollar more than another contractor who said they could do the job in 4 days (and has an "A" rating). I would recommend staying clear of this man."

" were referred to me by a man who's judgement I respect. came out immediately, talked about the job and gave me a firm quote of $1200. He and his brother came out a few days later and completed the task. There was about a ton of soil left piled up after the job. explained that he would not be able to remove it until the snow melted. I held back $100 and paid him for the wall. About 10 days later he called me to say that the soil had been removed. Normally I would do this type of work myself but had to hire somebody this time around. I was satisfied with the price of $1200. They probably could have done it for a hundred or so less. But I was satisfied."

"They were very professional, but their prices were higher than some other companies we interviewed. We ended up going with another company for the work, although they were extremely professional and seemed to be a very good company. "

"Everything was absolutely wonderful and he did a really terrific job. He was very, very professional from beginning to end, and was quite careful to keep a close eye on the project throughout its completion. He had a great crew working with him. The price was very fair and he stuck within the quoted price. He had a very good design sense. We are already planning to have him do additional work for us. "

"While the steps look nice, they are not up to code. I also found out that he didn't get a permit from the city to do the work.
You actually scape your heels walking down some of them.
He said he would make them right and hasn't returned.
don't use . It will be a miracle if I don't fall."
