" did a tremendous job of inspecting my future home. He was on-time and prepared to perform a thorough inspection. He identified a number of things that I had not seen during my own inspection. He took the time to walk me through the entire house and described what he was looking for and what problems, if any, he found. He gave recommendations for repair/replacement and overall was teriffic to work with.
I received the detailed inspection report within 3 days and was able to negotiate with the seller to have the repairs performed prior to closing.
Teriffic experience overall."

"Overall we had a good experience. We received a quick call back to schedule the audit, we gave permsission for a CCI employee to tag along during the audit to learn more about the process. The auditor was punctual for the scheduled appointment, was thorough in his descriptions of potential fixes, and responsive to feedback when we asked him to show us what he was describing during our debrief sessions and prioritized the various fixes as to what would have the greatest impact. The only reason I gave them a B for responsiveness was because the report arrived about 2 weeks after the audit. There were no surprises in the report, but it would have been nice to see the list of contractors a little bit earlier. I'm sure a list would have provided if asked."

Pittsburgh Home Inspectors Reviews

"I was reluctant to use an inspector recommended by the realty company, as that seemed like a potential conflict of interest. I asked several recent homebuyers for recommendations, and most people were not happy with their inspections. I finally got a referral from a colleague for , and I am so grateful. was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and thorough. He went through every nook and cranny of the house and pointed out things that were not satisfactory or could potentially be problems in the future without proper maintenance. He found some problems with the first house we looked at, and we backed out of the deal because the seller wouldn't address the issues. probably saved us a lot of money because I saw a roofer parked at that house after another person purchased it. His report on the house we actually purchased helped us negotiate some things and ultimately purchase the house. I highly recommend his services--inspections are so important and I am shocked by the number of friends and colleagues who took this process lightly, only to end up with regrets after purchasing a house with undiscovered problems.
We also received a small discount on the inspection for the second house since we were return customers. We would have used his services regardless but it was a nice gesture."

"After I purchased the house a friend's brother (HVAC guy) came over to look my furnace over. He immediately saw 2 cracks to the heat exchanger. This was verified by a different HVAC guy that I called in to look. The cracks are clearly visible. I am requesting my money back along with all additional costs needed to fix the problem."

"Initially, I was pleased with the service. I was present the entire time and had a to ask a lot of questions, which I did appreciate. After the inspection was done and I got the report, there were some additional findings that he hadn't mentioned to me during the inspection and also since he placed items in categories (safety issues, functional issues, etc.) I had some questions about why some items fell into one category versus another. When I called to ask him about these things, he immediately began audibly sighing, stated that "no one has ever questioned my reports before" and asked me if I "wanted him to rewrite the entire report". I was completely caught off guard, because he really had struck me as a nice enough guy initially. I explained to him that as a first time home owner, I simply needed an expert opinion to base my decision of house buying on, and that I didn't feel that I could assess the home myself. He told me that I must be working with an agent who "can't read" the report, and asked me if should rewrite the report "so that YOU GIRLS can understand it".
So at that point, it became clear that he was not going to be a help in following up with service. It really felt like he just wanted to get paid and didn't want to stand by his work. He was certainly not friendly after he was paid, did not offer any constructive criticism of the house that was useful, and couldn't even answer a few questions about his own report for my clarification so that I could use some of findings during my home negotiations.
When a question came up later during the appraisal stage about his pest inspection (an additional cost to me), he stated that although his report showed no evidence of any pests, he said that there is a possibility that carpenter ants in fact may have infested the questionable area at one time, and could come back, there was really no way of knowing. He said he'd be glad to come back and reinspect it, but when I told him that I paid for an inspection once and had no intention of paying for another one, the subject dropped.
I would recommend to anyone buying a house to hire separately a plumber, contractor, roofing specialist if needed, structural engineer (foundation expert) if needed. Even together, their costs would be less than the inspection fee, and they actually do the work every day. Also, if you like them, they could give you a reliable estimate, and get the work done! Home inspectors are not liable for any of their findings, nor can they actually do the work they are speaking of.
Maybe other people had a good experience with this company, that's great. I didn't, and wanted to let you know about it."

"He came out and did a very thorough home inspection for me. His report was very complete and he provided me with a big binder that had details on when different things in the house needed to be done. The inspector was very nice, on time and was great at showing and pointing out things for me."

"I contacted based on the recommendation of a colleague from work. Mr. was prompt, did the job quickly and professionally. He provided us a written copy of the inspection and walked us through each item. We walked through the inspection with him and he answered questions and pointed out issues in the house. Excellent experience."

"He was pretty thorough and spent adequate time with us answering all of our questions. He printed up a detailed report on the condition of our house."

"He produced an incredibly honest, detailed, and thorough inspection for us, with no fluff and little purely stock language. I would have loved to have such a great inspection on our previous house purchase. He's also very responsive via email, and produced pdf versions of the inspections for us, which was wonderful as we were moving in from out of town."

"Inspector was on time and explained everything to me. The report was returned a few days later and contained the current condition of the house I was buying, as well as preventive maintenance tips I should know. Coming from someone who doesn't know too much about home repair, I was thankful for the inspector's patience and willingness to explain all the details."
