Pittsburgh Chimney Covers Reviews

"We purchased our home this past summer and even though the home inspector said everything looked good he suggested to have someone certified inspect it. I scheduled an appointment with them based on others Angie's List reviews.

and his partner showed up a couple minutes before 8:00 am (the scheduled appointment time) and got right to work after introducing himself. The inspection and cleaning took no more than 30 minutes and the left our home clean. They removed their shoes at the door and took care to respect our home.
The price was what they quoted ($90 to inspect and $160 if it needed cleaned as well) which I felt was appropriate for the service provided. After the service was complete,
Pittsburgh Chimney Covers Provider Name Locked
took time to give us suggestions on how to maintain the fireplace and chimney, and overall was professional and friendly. Overall this was a great experience and we will definitely use

again for our routine cleaning and maintenance.

"I contacted
Pittsburgh Chimney Covers Provider Name Locked
to take a look at repairing a leaky chimney. Not only did they NOT go up to the roof to look at the chimney when giving me a quote, but from a distance where they could not see the chimney they quoted me $2100 to "point and cap" something that a) does not have exposed brick and b) just had a cap put on. Needless to say I did not utilize their services.

inspected the chimney and indicated no cleaning was required. They ground out the bad joints at the top of the chimney and repointed them. The crack on the back of the chimney was ground and repointed as well. The crack running down the face was patched with crack magic clear sealant. The bad joints were ground and repointed. The corbelled out course of brick had a ledge mortared onto the top of it to stop the water from laying on the flat surface. The crown was cleaned and all cracks were silicone. The existing cap was replaced with a stainless steel cap to prevent rusting.

"I was impressed from the beginning working with Mr. and Mrs.
Pittsburgh Chimney Covers Provider Name Locked
. Mr.
Pittsburgh Chimney Covers Provider Name Locked
actually went up on the roof to inspect the work that needed to be done whereas others just eye-balled it from the ground. He gave me an estimate of the cost, explained the cost, how long the job would take, and approximately when he could start the job. Mrs.
Pittsburgh Chimney Covers Provider Name Locked
kept in close contact regarding scheduling the date of the job.
The job seemed well managed and all work was completed in same day. The workers on time, were diligent and respectful. The match of brick type and color was excellent. The look of the brick work is seamless. The property was left spotless.

"First, during the estimate phase we received the most thorough and personal estimate of the 3 companies we looked at. The company owner came when we were available and walked around the entire house with us. It was a give and take with us pointing out things we were aware of and the owner pointing out additional issues. My first inclination was to have an entire re-point because I've heard that to get the best look (most cosmetically pleasing) you really need to do the full house. The owner indicated that other than the holes and items he pointed out the mortar was sound. He did come back out later to estimate the whole house. Due to the expense of a full re-point we decided just to go with the point and repair where needed.
The 4 man team showed up on time and worked solidly through out the day. The new cement cap and chimney work look good as does the new lintel. The spaled bricks were repaired. All of the holes were repaired with mortar that basically matches the existing mortar. I cannot say that you cannot tell the repair from the portion that did not need repaired because you can BUT it looks much better than it did before. Years ago (pre our ownership) someone did a mortar repair that that job was terrible. Following the day's work we were asked to review and contact the company with any issues. We did find one spaled brick that was missed and we wanted the caulk at one of the windows redone as the new caulk of course really stood out from the old. The company had a 2 man team back the next work day to address the 2 items. Also the crew repaired a small number of old mortar repairs from the previous repair years ago. They did that without requesting any additional money.
Also during the entire scheduling, discussion of work and follow-up there was always good communication from the service provider.

and his crewed showed up on time and completed the work in one day. The cleanup was complete and the work was done professionally and without any problem. A couple hours after the work was completed, there was a massive thundershower that dumped a tremendous amount of rain. I was a concerned that the rain mights have washed away some of the mooter that
Pittsburgh Chimney Covers Provider Name Locked
had just installed, so I asked him about it. He offered to check it out when he was in the neighborhood, which he did. He also removed some debris from gutter that was causing the gutter to overflow at the roof line. He didn't have to do the check and I can't thank him enough about checking the effects of the storm and clearing the gutter on my 40+ ft roof.

"They were very professional. They had to put up scaffolding in a very tight area around my expensive retaining wall and my air conditioner and my 20 foot aluminum canopy over my patio. Nothing was damaged. They were punctual and very considerate, The job was finished in two days. I would highly recommend R&

"Soon after I moved into the house I discovered that there were many problems with it that I hadn't been aware of before the closing. Chief among those problems was the patio-kit-room: its ceiling leaked badly, and showed signs of many years of attempted repairs, much of it with incorrect materials.
I found

. on Angie's List;
Pittsburgh Chimney Covers Provider Name Locked
, Sr. came over right away, climbed onto the roof and took many photos -- which later became key evidence in my legal case against the seller and my erstwhile "buyer's agent." The work began as soon as weather permitted. The carpentry work was done by Amish carpenters, true artists. Other elements of the overall job (e.g., electrical) were performed by non-Amish full-time employees of
Pittsburgh Chimney Covers Provider Name Locked
. The proceded for a reasonable period of time, with the workmen in various categories, showing up reliably whenever they were scheduled to.
I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of the work, the reliability and ethics of all the workmen (&

, who pitched in sometimes), and the reasonableness and fairness of the pricing.
I plan to use the

"We have an old home with a very tall chimney with significant deterioration allowing water to leak into the house. Mr.
Pittsburgh Chimney Covers Provider Name Locked
and his company were excellent. He was prompt & punctual when we first met. He critically looked at the job and provided a practical solution that involved lowering the chimney height and rebuilding the top so it actually matched the other two chimneys in the house. His bid was very reasonable.

The work itself went very smoothly. His team was great. We have two large dogs that often do not appreciate contractors / workman in their yard. Mr.
Pittsburgh Chimney Covers Provider Name Locked
's team was understanding, and worked with me to make it less stressful on the dogs. They also had to coordinate with the roofer, who was there around the same time. Finally, they actually made a point of salvaging as many of the bricks as possible for us to use on other projects around the house. All of those facts gave them an A in professionalism.

The work itself was also great. The chimney looks fantastic, and the wall with the water damage is really dry for the first time since we moved in. The detail work matches the other chimneys almost perfectly - you can tell it is newer, that is the only variation. As they were cleaning up once the job was finished, I pointed out one small detail that was missed. It was much lower on the chimney, so not in the sightline of their work. They promptly addressed it, and actually helped fix a few smaller things that I had missed. They cleaned up after themselves, and replaced all the patio furniture.

I will absolutely use them again!
