"Everything went fine. Dr.
and his staff go over everything with you in extreme detail. That being said, this work was extremely expensive," which means that I'm leery of taking
in just to have checkups. I'll go here for emergencies when I want expert advice, but otherwise there's no way I can afford this kind of money.

"They are wonderful! They took excellent care of my dog, and really go out of their way for you. They even will call you at night or if you are out of town at a long" distance number to keep you updated.

Angie's Answers

?

Hi

The first answer is pretty thorough but I would like to add a few points.

First.. the type of food you are feeding your dog may be the key.  If you are using a food that is grain, rice or corn based in the first three ingredients, please change to a food that is meat or chicken based.  Many dogs are allergic to grain, rice, wheat and corn and these things are used as primary ingredients in many well known, name brand dog foods.  Secondly, all treats that have these ingredients should be cut out.  It takes weeks to months before a food change can show results so you must be patient.  Jumping from one food to another will be counter-productive.

Some dogs are so allergic to flea or other insect bites that one or two bites can cause a severe reaction.  Once the itching/scratching cycle begins, it is hard to stop it.  Benadryl is good but I suggest liquid form.  You can get it inexpensively at one of the dollar stores.  The pills take time to break down in the digestive system so you get better and faster results with the liquid. One tsp= 5cc and most dogs of average size can tolerate that much and more if the dog is a larger breed.

Allergy testing is very expensive and most dogs will test positive to some things.  That does not mean that the itching is coming from those things as many things in the environment can trigger positive test results.  Breaking the cycle of itching is primary and that can be done with prednisone ( short term and last resort after benadryl and bathing), allergy shots( same deal, last resort after easier methods).   This spring and summer have been particularly hard, weather-wise.

Good luck!

After you search for the company, you should get the "no results" page. Scroll down just a little bit, and you'll see a button and a link that say "Add this provider." Click on that to add them to the List! Thanks for the great question.
?
I'm really sorry! It looks like we made some site changes I hadn't noticed before and it made things just a little more confusing (for me, too!). We'll have to look into this to make it easier.
In the meantime, here's what you do:
1) Look for the Submit a Report button. It's yellow and on the right-hand side of the page.
2) Search for the animal cancer care clinic you're looking for. The search box should be inside a yellow bar.
3) You should see a list of potential matches, but on top of those, there should be "add a provider to the List" text in blue, which is where you'll click to get to the add page.

Let me know if you have any trouble. Sorry, again, for this being so confusing.

The level of care was perfect and they are really good with the dogs. Scheduling is convenient. I really liked how the vet followed up with us after the surgery. I had called around to a lot of places and they were the most conveniently located us and they were recommended to us by several neighbors. They are A+ provider to work with.

I have been going to this vet for many years. We took our previous dog here as well. They are onveniently located to where I live. The facility is clean and well managed. The staff are all very kind. I have had no problems with scheduling and they can fit me in for emergencies. They have all special services like ex-rays on site.

The work appears to have been performed well, and the dog had no unexpected reaction or problems. We were quoted a range of $350 to $550, depending on complications discovered during the procedure. We were billed $550 even though there were no complications.

It went very well as always. We have been customers of
Phoenix Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
for many years and have appreciated their care and attention to our dogs. On this visit, Dr. Serbin spent time with us beyond just the physical to give us tips and advice on raising a puppy. He answered all of our questions and helped us deal with the "health issues" that were discovered in the exam. He always follows up with calls to see how our dogs are doing.
They have modern. clean facilities and very helpful staff who all clearly love animals. We always feel welcome and special when we're there.
Like I said, we've been customers for years with several dogs and have been very satisfied with the care we get from the moment we walk in the door to the time we leave.

I checked in. A medical assistant got some of the information for my dog. The veterinarian came in next to perform his wellness check. He went over behavioral issues and how to train my dog. Recommended a deep cleaning due to poor eating habits. After he was done I went out and paid for the visit, got a quote for cleaning, and they vaccinated my dog. The process was

Fantastic.
Our girl dog who is 11 was not feeling herself - very lethargic and it really worried us. We saw Dr
Phoenix Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
and she ran some tests. Concluded it is an auto-immune disorder. After a couple months and some steriod treatment, she's bounced back and full of life!
I cannot recommend
Phoenix Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
enough. These are some of the reasons I wouldn't take
Phoenix Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
anywhere else:
They are professional and caring
They know what they're doing
They have early (7AM!) hours and after 5pm hours.
Staff is awesome
They don't suggest crazy amounts of testing to run up your bill like many vets we've seen
They are very reasonably priced.
They don't waste my time - we are seen quickly
The only negative is that their office is small and parking is tricky. Overall, I would only recommend Sunburst to all animal owners.

On the plus side,
Phoenix Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
sent me a coupon for a free initial exam and they provided rabies and distemper shots for a reasonable price. (I can't remember the exact amount, but it was several dollars cheaper than other vets for each vaccine.) The wait time was about 10-15 minutes, which is fine. Overall, however, I was not impressed.and wouldn't recommend.
Negatives:
1. The facilities didn't seem very sanitary. There was an unpleasant smell and I saw bits of fur on the floor in the exam room. Surely they ought to clean the room between each appt so as not to spread germs from one pet to another? Hopefully the previous patient didn't have anything contagious!
2. The tech wasn't very helpful or attentive. She spent most of her time in the exam room giving a sales push for various products and services -- and it was obviously a memorized speech, not advice based on the needs or condition of my particular pet.
3. The tech also, in my opinion, had a very unprofessional appearance. She had multiple facial piercings and was wearing a lot of make-up of the glitzy/glamorous type -- the stuff you'd wear (maybe) for going clubbing or to a party but not for the average business environment. While trying to have a discussion about healthcare, I found the movie-star false eyelashes and all the shiny doodads distracting.
4. They gave me an estimate for having my dog spayed, and the total price on this was high. For one thing, it was inflated by charging a $40 or $50 exam fee for the day of surgery. My dog was already receiving an exam, so why would she need *another* exam just a few days later? No other vet I've ever been to does that. Also, the estimate included various charges for services that are optional at most vets but apparently required at
Phoenix Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, which drives the price up even more. For example, when I've had other pets in for surgery or any major procedure, the vets gave me the option of doing a set of blood tests and lab work beforehand. And I've been happy to do that for my cat, who's getting on in years, or for my other dog, who's had previous medical issues. But *this* dog is barely a year old, in perfect shape, full of energy, and has never been injured or sick a day in her life. So no, I don't think it's necessary to spend an extra $100 or more to check for possible liver and kidney disease and so on.
I can't really comment on the vet herself since I only saw her briefly. It was a routine visit so there wasn't much for her to do. She seemed nice enough, and perhaps she would have done well at diagnosing and treating a problem had that been called for.. But given my dissatisfaction with the other aspects of the visit, I won't be going back to find out! I now take all my pets to Animal Care Hospital (on
Phoenix Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
just west of 32nd St.) and they're awesome. Take your furry friends there, not to
Phoenix Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
.

We have had an ongoing issue regarding my dog’s allergies. They are just trying to narrow down the cause. I am always very pleased with the care they give my dog. The overall experience is excellent. Sometimes they are a little slow getting back to me. I would definitely use this service in the future.
