Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Reviews

"This company had the worst customer service of any company I have ever worked with, having remodeled 3 houses over 20 years. While installing the workers informed me that the sink had been set too low and that they needed to move it. I asked if there would be any problems and they said no. Later that day after the install I notice that the cabinet where the sink set was cracked and that there was a sloppy caulk job around the sink. I called the company and they sent someone out to take a look. I assumed it would be no big deal because accidents happen. When the representative came over he informed me that his workers could not have possibly done the damage. I pointed out that there was nobody else there except their 4 workers and me and I know I did not do the damage. They also claimed that the caulk used was not the type they used so it could not be them. I pointed out that they were basically accusing me of lying. I would have had to break the cabinet, go to the store buy a type of caulk they never use and do a sloppy caulk job - then call and blame them. It is beyond my comprehension what motive I would possibly have for doing this. But I still held out hope that maybe the guy was just having a bad day. Well a second representative came out a few days later and immediately started in on me telling me that he knew his workers would never have done this and that the caulk was not theirs. At this point I became very upset. I have never been accused of lying and I cannot understand why they felt the need to treat me so viciously. Would it not have been enough to just say okay we will take care of it or no sorry we don't have followup on our work. In the end they agreed to cover the cost of the cabinet piece. But given the verbal abuse I had to take, if I had to do it over again, I would have just assumed the cost myself. Well actually if I could go back in time I would never have called this company. There were a few other problems as well. The countertop was not cut exactly as the template and as requested. Also the installers put 2 holes in the wall. When I mentioned it they said it did not matter because I could put tile on the wall. When I told them I had no plans to put tile there they just said oh and walked away - no apology, no offer to fix it. Lastly the workers were very sloppy. I ended up spending a lot of time cleaning up dripped glue (or some similar substance) off of my cabinets, floor, and bath fixtures. "

"We began by visiting the showroom to see samples and ask questions. At that time we scheduled an appointment with one of their designers. The designer came out and helped us make a choice on style and color, then she scheduled an appointment for the template to be made. The template was made on a Wednesday, and the counter was installed the following week. Installation was completed in less time than expected. The installers were prompt, professional, and did a great job with clean up at the end of the job. The counter top looks great."

"My wife and I had been talking about remodeling our kitchen for 15 years, so this project doesn't exactly qualify as an “impulse buy.” A major part of our procrastination was the inevitable disruption a kitchen remodel would mean to our home and lifestyle, in general. Our situation was rendered more complex by the fact that we have four cats and their collective tolerance for remodeling is minimal, to say the least. During our prolonged period of procrastination, we made significant home improvements, but just couldn't bring ourselves to commit to a kitchen remodel. When a knob fell off our aging oven and we were compelled to use a pliers to adjust the temperature, we decided that was a sign from the remodeling gods.

With that as a predicate, and despite receiving countless contractor recommendations from friends and colleagues, as a card-carrying Angieophile, I consulted Angie's List and located
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
Construction. I called, discussed what we had in mind, and scheduled an appointment.

At the designated date and time, we met with
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
(
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
Construction) and
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
(Dwelling) at our home. Punctuality is an important issue to me, and it is never more meaningful than on an initial meeting. Both
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
and
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
arrived right on time, so we were off to a very positive start. Within the first 30 minutes of our initial meeting, we knew we liked
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
and
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
. First impressions are lasting impressions, and we were impressed with
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
and
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
from the get-go.

The focus of this review is Dwelling, so I'm going to restrict this narrative to our experience working with
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
,
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
,
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
and the rest of the Dwelling team. A separate review has been posted for
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
Construction.

Our initial impression of
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
was very positive. She was friendly, conversational, respectful, and the epitome of professionalism in appearance, speech and demeanor. We immediately felt comfortable having
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
in our home. We later learned that she is an animal lover, so that was an added dimension that we appreciated, knowing that our cats were destined to be under foot at some point.

My wife and I did not have any carved-in-stone ideas for remodeling the kitchen. The one thing we knew definitively was that any appliance that did not require a pliers to adjust was going to constitute an improvement, though we didn't want to acknowledge that in our first meeting lest we set the “satisfaction bar” too low. So we shared our loosely-associated thoughts with
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
and contributed our sincere-yet-stunningly-unhelpful comments such as, “We'd like to change this, but we're not sure to what” or “We think something new would work here, but we're really not sure what we want.”

The fact that
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
did not attempt to flee is testament to her dedication and commitment, so we knew we were working with somebody who was up to the challenge. She began to offer suggestions and shared several “what if” scenarios that were both interesting and exciting, as a preliminary vision began to take shape.

At the conclusion of our initial meeting,
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
took a few preliminary measurements, we thanked her for coming, and said we would be in touch.

We knew after that first meeting that we wanted to work with
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
and Dwelling. We had originally planned to interview other contractors, but my wife and I both felt so positive about
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
, we decided that we didn't need to look further. Now that the project is completed, and with the benefit of hindsight, it was absolutely the right decision.

From that point forward, throughout the summer, we had a number of meetings at home and at the Dwelling studio.
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
returned to our house on several occasions and took additional measurements and photos, and a master plan began to evolve.

As our discussions continued, the inevitable “project creep” made an appearance and what started out as a kitchen remodel expanded into a family room and living room. The phrases my wife and I most frequently uttered during this period were, “As long as we're doing that, it only makes sense to do this,” and “That looks great, but if we stop there, it's not going to look right here, so we need to extend that.” And that's how a kitchen remodel winds up encompassing three rooms and the installation of a three-panel sliding glass door system to the backyard.

We were never pushed or pressured to expand the scope of the project in any way.
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
was at all times gracious and willing to work within whatever parameters we established and periodically changed. We very much appreciate
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
's flexibility and willingness to work with us in that regard.

Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
ultimately presented plans for the kitchen redesign, cabinet and counter top configuration that resulted in a significant increase in overall kitchen functionality by making much more efficient use of our existing space. We selected cherry as the wood for our cabinets and the finished product is beautiful. The craftsmanship is flawless and the people who did the actual installation were meticulous in their attention to detail and function. They were also pleasant and friendly, so we never felt uncomfortable with any of the individuals who performed work in our home under Dwelling's supervision and direction.

For the counter top, we decided to go with granite. We met
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
at one facility to select an appropriate slab or slabs. The weather was extremely hot and uncomfortable, yet
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
couldn't have been nicer or more pleasant. Once again, we never felt pressured to make a decision on the spot.

As it turned out, we felt the available selection of slabs was lacking at that facility, so without missing a beat,
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
set up an appointment at a second facility for another day and met us there, as well. Her assistance was invaluable in selecting an appropriate slab. We met weeks later at the actual fabrication facility. We didn't know anything about working with granite, nor anything about seams or flaws or
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
, nor how it should best be configured

Before remodeling, our kitchen had 70's-style Saltillo tile, and the family room and living room were carpeted. After much discussion, we decided we needed different flooring. We met with
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
and
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
at Dwelling and after looking at a variety of flooring options, we were shown a sample of reclaimed chestnut and knew instantly, that was IT.

Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
,
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
,
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
and several other individuals were all involved in the flooring phase of the project. It was complex and required a number of logistical considerations, all of which were handled with the utmost professionalism. The result is magnificent.

The wood was reclaimed from a structure built in 1922 in a small town in West Virginia, and the “distressed” nature of the wood, with knots, worm holes, nail
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
, etc., projects a sense of warmth that transports me back to my days growing up in a small New England town. The boards are varying widths and the random distribution “pattern” created by the craftsmen who meticulously installed the flooring is unlike anything we have seen before and greatly enhances the ambiance created by the wood.

Wood naturally has some flaws and any anomalies that needed to be addressed subsequent to the installation were handled quickly and efficiently. Throughout the process, we were always comfortable knowing that we were in good, competent hands and that everyone we encountered at Dwelling was committed to producing the best possible result at all times. And that result was achieved.

Communication was excellent with
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
throughout the project. Sometimes we met in person, other times we stayed in touch by phone, email or text. If we had a question, obtaining a prompt, responsive answer was never a problem or a concern.

Today, when anybody enters our home, the first thing they comment on is the flooring.
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
and the good folks at Dwelling did a masterful job.

When the hard construction portion of the project concluded, we were so impressed with
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
and Dwelling that we decided to continue working with them as we entered the furnishing phase.

We went area-rug shopping recently and with
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
's able assistance and input, selected some beautiful rugs, which were recently installed. Because the look and feel of our home has changed with the remodeling,
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
has been invaluable helping us select fabrics and patterns that pull all the new colors and textures together. She also assisted us in designing a custom couch, table and four ottomans. To help us visualize the pieces within the existing space, she created a “life-size” paper template that she positioned on the floor so we could see how it would fit in conjunction with other furniture as far as traffic flow, etc.
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
has also assisted us with additional furniture and fabric selections.

Her patience, thoroughness and good spirit is a pleasure to be around. It is also clear that
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
enjoys what she does, and her enjoyment and interest is infectious. She makes what might otherwise be a tedious selection process fun and easy. Working with
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
felt more like working with a long-time friend, even though we have only known her for a few months. That is a comfort level that most people in today's “rush-rush” world simply do not possess.. It's a rare characteristic, one that we appreciate, and one that made working with Dwelling a uniquely positive experience that exceeded our expectations at every turn.

We still have a couple of rooms left to remodel and when we do, we will definitely be contacting
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
Construction and Dwelling -- and we are looking forward to it.

"It went great! I dealt with
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
May and there are a few reasons why I really enjoyed dealing with him. The first is that he is not "salesy" in the least bit. He's a very calm person and he spends enough time with you so that you feel fully educated about the entire process. I originally called one of the top-rated Angie's List granite installers and had a bad sales experience (forgot to call me back and I had to follow-up with him for a visit--When he eventually did come in for an estimate he spent a total of 5 to 10 minutes coming in a measuring everything and then promptly disappeared and NEVER called me back or even emailed me to give me the quote.) Once I made the decision to go with
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
(after calling 3 references, receiving pictures from him, and getting quotes from 2 other installers), he even offered to go with me to AZ tile to shop for the granite. He also had me come out to the work yard to see if there was any of their scrap granite for my small bathroom that I wanted to look at for a discounted price. (I ended up scoring an incredible piece of Blue Pearl)
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
took great care to ensure that the granite would be laid out in the most optimal manner. He was very concerned that the seam be as "seamless" as possible....with granite this is no easy feat and he pulled it off wonderfully.

Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
guided me through the entire process from purchasing a sink, to lining up a plumber, to finding someone to do the backsplash, to ensuring that my cabinet refinishing would be timed right. At one point he even acted as a general contracter of sorts by calling up my cabinet refacing contact to ensure the schedule would go off without a hitch (I actually was referred to him by my cabinet refinishing contact). He also was great at giving me his advice when I asked regarding the edging, tile color selection, and sink selection.

We set a date of Friday 2 weeks out, and while the job ended up getting pushed back to the beginning of the following week, it worked out great for me b/c I had something pressing to focus on that weekend anyway. Also, another plus to this company was the price---it seemed well under the other estimates that I was given.

When it came time for the install it all went perfectly.
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
,
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
Jr., and
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
came on time to do the install and they were cordial and went right to work. They had a big job ahead of them especially since I had tiled granite that they had to rip out as well as a backsplash and the bathroom. Amazingly enough, they got everything done in one day and were great about cleaning up the mess!

"On
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
12, 2011 I bought a completely new kitchen (including countertops) from Ikea. As it turns out, Artisan is the one and only company Ikea uses to install the quartz counters in
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
. They sent out their person who measures & makes a template. He showed up on time and was there about an hour measuring everything. 5 days after the template was made, neither Ikea nor Artisan had called me about the installation, so I had to make calls to both of them to keep things moving. When I left messages at Artisan, I rarely received a return call. The whole experience with them was below average because they simply didn't communicate. I called one day trying to schedule the installation, but the girl who does the scheduling wasn't there and nobody else knows anything. Every time I called she was either in a meeting, on the phone, or out of the office. Both
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
and
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
did not return calls to me on several occasions. Perhaps they are understaffed, but if that's the case, more people need to be hired. I won't go into any more details, but suffice it to say that trying to get things nailed down with them was frustrating. The only good thing is that the counter looks nice. Their installers showed up on time and did a good job installing the counters. If you buy your counters through Ikea, this is the company you'll get, like it or not.

Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
installed a granite double vanity counter with sink basins. I was exceptionally pleased with all the aspects of our encounter.
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
was very friendly and helpful. We were able to pick a beautiful piece of granite from the remnant yard and it looks great. The price is extremely competitive and the turn around time was just as impressive. I had my countertop installed two days after I had picked the slab. After having remodeled half of my house and using many contactors and services I have to say this was the best experience so far."

"I loved working with
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
! We worked on the design together and he had a lot of creative input on the layout and materials. I also felt very comfortable that the price was a good value for the quality of the work.
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
stands by his work and the work of his brother
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
. I have now been using my shower for 6 months and I love walking into every day and have never had a problem. After I got the quote, when
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
took out the old shower he found that a lot more reinforcement work would need to be done than they had anticipated due to the weight of the new shower that would need to be supported (and the minimalist approach of the builder). It took them almost a week to install support beams in the floor, but
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
did not raise the price from his original quote. The tile workmanship is immaculate! The guys also had some great ideas on the transition zone between the shower and bathroom tile as well as the listelle. They also suggested putting the granite from the sink countertop on the benches to tie in the shower to the countertop - I love it! It was really fun working with these guys and it felt like a team effort designing all the little details. The quality of the work is simply outstanding and I love showing my remodel to friends and neighbors.

"We had a lot of problems with them. Our floor had to be re-done three times. They used one of the cheapest thin-set even though we told them that our previous floor had problems with lifting and we thought that there were issues with the concrete. It probably wouldn?t have been a problem if they had listened to us in the beginning and taken some extra caution. It took more than two months for them to complete a job that could have been done in a week because they had to keep coming back and re-doing it. The people who worked for them weren?t very good. The owner claimed not to have any knowledge of all the information we had given him about the problems we had with the floor. He was told even before he made a bid. We asked him repeatedly throughout the job if he was really going to use that thin-set and we asked him if he was going to acid wash it or not. I had the discussion with him at least three times and he said that he never knew. So that was not too good. The price was fair, but we had to pay more for some things to replace some of the tiles. So that was unfortunate. The finished floor is fine, and it would have been okay if they had done it right the first time itself. "

"We were very satisfied with the overall experience with
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
.
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
was very prompt with the estimate and the work was completed with all of our expectations met. We love our new countertop, back splash, and cupboards! We would highly recommend this company."

Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
has a remarkable eye for space, color, proportion and understated elegance. She has been in the design business for over 30 yrs and her experience shows.
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
is a stickler for detail - so if you're a perfectionist - which I am, this is the designer for you. She is also able to adapt to your style as opposed to many designers who inflict their style on you. If something goes wrong, and it will,
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
will make it right. I never had an appreciation before for what a good interior designer can bring to the table but I do now. They can make it all look good together - as opposed to having nice furniture that just doesn't quite look right with everything else. She can expose you to a world of fabrics and textiles that you can never find on your own. She will narrow your choices to only the things she knows will look good and takes the guess work out to produce stunningly beautiful results.
Phoenix Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
works with a select group of contractors who all have high standards of quality. Remodeling is painful - but when it all turns out well - the pain is well worth many future years of living in a beautiful home.
