Do you repair all brands of TVs?

Mike Feldi: "Yes we do."

Jim Schwarz: "For the most part."

Ron Freeman: "Yes, most brands."

Is there any type of TV repair you won't tackle?

Mike Feldi: "Not really."

Ron Freeman: "If the repair would exceed the cost of a replacement TV."

Jim Schwarz: "There are some brands I don't like because they don't offer support or parts."

How do you charge?

Mike Feldi: "It depends on the category of TV, if it's a plasma or LCD, not the brand or model."

Ron Freeman: "We have a base charge and then, once we know the nature of the problem, we can give a more accurate estimate."

Jim Schwarz: "We charge by the difficulty of labor and the cost of parts."

What's the average cost to repair a TV?

Mike Feldi: "So much depends on the TV. It could be anywhere from $60 to $500."

Ron Freeman: "It depends on the TV. A standard 27-inch set can range from $99 to $129."

Jim Schwarz: "There's no real average, it depends on if it's a minor or major problem."

Do you believe your profession is a dying one? Why or why not?

Mike Feldi: "I've been hearing that my whole life. I think I'm going to have to go out of business before I believe it. We just do what we have to do to stay in business."

Ron Freeman: "I wouldn't say it's dying, but it's changed a lot. We used to do a lot of VCR repair when people were spending $500 on a VCR. The technology tells us what we have to repair."

Jim Schwarz: "Sometimes I think so. The market is being flooded with cheap items that don't offer service or parts on it. If you buy off-brands, you won't have the parts to use if a repair is necessary."

Is there one brand of TV you would consider the best? How about the worst?

Mike Feldi: "Sony is the best, that's why we're a dealer for them. They give us the support we need. There's too many 'worst' brands to list. Most of them have no support available to you or the dealers."

Ron Freeman: "Well, any major name brand would be best. Things that you've never heard of or are totally new on the market have no support what-so-ever. When they break, they're thrown away."

Jim Schwarz: "The best brands are LG, Toshiba, Panasonic, Sony and the rest, well, they are what they are."

What's your current favorite TV show?

Mike Feldi: "I've been watching a lot of 'House' lately."

Ron Freeman: "I don't watch much TV. Once in awhile HBO has a series that's pretty good. I generally rent movies."

Jim Schwarz: "I like 'Two and Half Men,' that's a funny one. I also watch 'Deal or No Deal.'"
