"
Philadelphia Tree Services Provider Name Locked
came out within days to give an estimate which was very reasonable.  The  service was scheduled two weeks in advance and was postponed a day because of rain.  The crew  did a great job and cleaned up the area before they left.  Very professional.  I definitely recommend this company."

"First,
Philadelphia Tree Services Provider Name Locked
was amazingly responsive, conducted a good deal of our business electronically. He was really on top of things! After an initial estimate, we changed plans and he promptly provided a new estimate. On work day, his crew arrived early and they got right down to business! We were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the results were."

Pear tree left bare after alleged trimming 'massacre'

Homeowner waits for a refund after they say the tree service came late and left their tree with barely any leaves.

Living with trees in the Pacific Northwest

Large trees like Douglas firs provide wonderful benefits for your yard, but the bigger they are, the harder they fall. A Seattle-area contractor offers tips to make sure your trees are healthy and not prone to falling over.

Lessons from the Bradford pear trees

Once mature, Bradford pear trees often split apart. (Photo courtesy of David Lusk of Lusk Tree Care Services)

Planted extensively in the ’80s and ’90s, the Bradford pear tree became a dominant feature in many subdivisions, on commercial properties and in parking lots. All was well until 15 or more years after planting.

How to plant a tree

'"Right Tree, Right Place’ should take into account the mature size of the tree, not the size you want it to be, as well as ensuring the soil, water, sunlight and climate factors are all favorable for the tree species you are planting,” says Wes Kocher of the ISA. (All photos by Mike LaFollette)

Planting a tree is an easy job, but it takes more skill than you might think. The following tree-planting tips can help ensure you plant a tree that thrives.

"I called 9 days ago and asked for someone to come out to my house to give me an estimate and to offer suggestions on what to do about my backyard. I told the person on the phone that I contacted other landscapers who made appointments but never showed up. She assured me that I would get a call within 24 hours, from the landscaper who will arrange an appointment. Nine days later I get a phone message from Corners asking only that I call him. I guess they don't need my business."

"Working with Shectman Tree Care was a great experience from start to finish. They came out and did the estimate very quickly. I had 3 estimates done and not only was Shectman's the most reasonable but I thought their company was the most professional. Other companies proposed expensive chemical treatments to stop the ailanthus stump from resprouting, Shectman said just sprinkle some rock salt on it. They even pruned a small holly tree at no extra charge."

"They were good and they came on time. They did afavor for me and cut down an extra branch. They cleaned up their work and were done in a timely fashion. The price was reasonable."

"I liked their work and will use them again. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. Their price is not too high, nor are they the cheapest. They do have certified arborist staff, who come and assess your trees. They recommend appropriate care for the tree. They work with you."

came out to estimate right away and completed the job a couple days later (excellent!) the hedge is very even and they took some time to assess slope, draw a line, etc. (not a hack job) did a lot of hand pruning to make it look nice (a

contrast to the nearby hedge I did myself) they also pruned the trees as directed but went even higher to remove a dangerous hanging branch I never noticed (no extra charge!) a surprise discovery of a large hornets nest, did not phase them (or result in extra fee). they bravely removed it (one guy suffered a sting but because they were so careful the hornets did not sting any other times) clean up was thourough. they were also very friendly to my toddler whose nose was pressed to the glass the entire job!"

"The whole thing as stated above is factual. The tree were locted in a back yard in so phila after being cut down they had to be dragged thru a 3 ft

"If I hadn't been there to direct the workers, they would not have trimmed the bushes to the height I felt was necessary. They did a good job due to my being there. I marked quality as N/A as the quality was high due to my direction."

"I first called
Philadelphia Tree Services Provider Name Locked
in April for the job. He came out promptly to discuss this. We had some problems with getting the measurements we needed for ordering the security doors, and he was not available to discuss this and did not get back to us quickly. It took months to actually get the job done (mid-

), and he had plenty of excuses for this. His professionalism for running a business left something to be desired. But all this said - he did the job and did a nice job. When I noticed a few spots he missed he happily came back to fill in, and I am happy with the quality of work - I know the projects weren't all easy and I could have done it."
