"Great. Gave me good advice also on the repair work I was seeking on front steps and patio brick work.

"For all aspects of this job,
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
exceeded my expectations. The senior
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
came to my home and looked at the work that was required. Because of the poor condition of the wood, he rearranged his work schedule to suit my needs and started the work within 2 weeks. His staff of 4 (including 2 of his sons) took 3 days to complete all the work, and on each day they arrived either on time or early. They were polite, professional, and competent. They paid attentions to details such that the work when finished was perfect. The electrical work, masonry work as well as the carpentry work was all completed in an exceptional manner. I mean all T's were crossed and I's dotted. In additional, they did additional small repairs to other beams that were not affected nor included in the proposal to make them more secure. Each day they cleaned up after themselves to such a degree that one would have thought they were finished the job, including neatly putting tools and supplies to the side, sweeping, vacuuming the work areas as well as the living areas where they had to walk through to reach the basement. And when finished the job, it was literally perfect.I cannot recommend them enough nor more highly to others who would need their services.
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
, in my opinion and experience went above and beyond to make sure my job was done to my satisfaction....and to theirs. These guys have standards and work ethics which I haven't seen in years.I will definitely be using them again in the fall when I want to do some renovation work in my kitchen.

"We contacted
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
because of positive reviews on Angie's List. I had actually been looking for structural engineers, but saw his name come up, and since he was the first person to contact me, we set up an appointment. I'm glad we did.
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
and his team ended up helping us not just with the floor issue (which involved jacking the floor up from below and putting in a totally new joist, plus a lot of other sister joists and braces), but helping us preserve the floorboards in that room, removing the unsupported chimney (and patching the hole on the roof), and fixing the stairs. (We would have had them do more stuff, but we were running out of money.) All of that work was done extremely professionally, and
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
was on hand in person to check things out each day (and kept us updated on the progress). He also switched around his own workers to accommodate our tight schedule (we needed to have the floor before we moved in!).

But
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
did a lot more for us than these official services, including attending a visit with a structural engineer (
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
engineering, which has been mentioned in other reports) and coordinating the ensuing reports, helping us determine what a mysterious box-out was on our deck, and connecting us to many other contractors to ask questions about other things around the house, from our AC system to the tree in our front sidewalk. He was extremely generous with his time and always available for any questions. Also, when it turned out that one of our radiators had developed a leak as a result of the jacking, he came out that very evening in person to investigate the problem and drain the water heater, and had his team on hand to fix it first thing the next morning to fix it - which was a huge and much appreciated relief.

You probably could find other cheaper contractors, but if you're looking for professionalism, attention to detail, high quality work and an overall pleasant experience, I don't think you could do better than
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
and his guys. We highly recommend them.

Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
and his crew were truly a godsend to us. Two of the joists under our first floor had extensive termite damage. A previous contractor had done a hack job installing sister joists, and in less than two years our first floor had sunk several inches. From our very fist contact with
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
we had a wonderful experience. He clearly explained the work that needed to be done (replacing the joists rather than sistering them) and the risks that needed to be weighed if we decided to raise the floor to its previous height. They started the job within a week. Everyone with
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
's was professional and friendly. They were very careful to make sure that all work was done in a way that was satisfactory to us, and stayed within the quoted (very reasonable) price despite unanticipated challenges.
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
kept us up to date on the progress of the work throughout the project. The craftsmanship was excellent in every aspect of their work. In our experience with
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
, we definitely saw that his first priority was making sure that our needs and preferences were taken care of even when it came at the expense of his bottom line. We strongly recommend
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
's.

and all the workers showed such integrity, competency, and professionalism.

"We had some concerns about some cracks in the brick veneer of our home and some gaps that had formed between our dining room floor and the wood molding. Mr.
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
was very knowledgeable and thorough and put our minds at ease. Turns out the issues were minor, and we are confident that our home and foundation are stable. He then followed up with a detailed report that was mailed to our home a few days later. We were very happy with the service that Mr.
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
performed and would recommend him to anyone buying a home or who have concerns about their home's foundation. The price was worth the peace of mind his inspection brought to us.

"I called
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
after they were recommended to my by the Structural Engineer,
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
of
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
Engineering. After I received a preliminary report from the structural engineer, I forwarded it to
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
for review. Within a few days,
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
called me to set up a time to come out to look over the situation and meet with me.
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
knew exactly what to do! His company has worked on many projects of this type and he made me feel very confident that his company could remedy the situation correctly and within a reasonable time and price. Within the next several days the workers arrived at the time they were scheduled to arrive. They explained to me exactly what they hoped to accomplish each day. They began working to install a temporary support structure on both sides of the damaged beam. By the end of day one, the temporary support was in place! The new "
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
" beam was to be installed on day two. Unfortunately, when they went to pick up the laminated beam from the lumber yard the following morning, they noticed that the beam was damaged.
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
said that another beam was to be delivered to the lumber yard by the following morning , and it was. By the end of day three, the new beam was in place, and the following day the steel supports on either end were installed and cemented in! Now, where there was an old sagging beam, I have a flush beam the allows for about an additional 10 inches of ceiling height and really opens up the entire kitchen/dining space (and is safe, and structurally sound, which is the most important thing!) The guys were very professional, and worked very well together as a team. They put up plastic sheeting each day to contain the dust and cleaned up every day at the end of the day. They explained each day what they hoped to accomplish. They were terrific! I highly recommend them!

"We happened to catch
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
as he was getting home from a vacation and he was able to come out the next day. I don't think he normally works on weekends, however. Within fifteen minutes
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
said that we'd been "hoodwinked" by the termite inspector. He explained what we should see if there were termites. After a bit of awkward silence, he said that since we had him for two hours, we might as well walk around the house and we essentially got a second home inspection. If you hire
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
for any inspection work, show up ready to take lots of notes. The letter certifying the structural integrity of our house showed up a few days later.

"Mr.
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
was very professional. He was on time and viewed upstairs, downstairs, basement, and outside walls to verify his report. He was very nice and as he was moving through the house he explained all that he saw."

"He arrived early Saturday morning(He does not usually work on Saturdays) and he was very friendly and extremely knowledgable. The home is in a historic district and was built in 1925. Just as he is described in prior reviews; he walked through the entire property with me and when I asked a question, he explained every answer in full detail. He gave me a history on the type of foundations used in the area we surveyed and the types of materials used. He pointed out which minor repairs I could probably complete myself and the average cost of hiring professionals. Overall the experience was great! I feel a lot more confident about the purchase of my new home; Thanks to Banks. I received a full structural report with all of the findings and suggested solutions within 3 days. Would I recommend Mr.
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
? I even expressed that he should take a camera with him and post his inspections on 'YouTube' Mr.
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
' demeanor and skill would make him a shoe in for his own TV show.

"I called probably eight "masonry experts". Of the 5 that responded, 2 told me to consult a structural engineer first (min $500.00 to tell me what I know needs doing), 2 gave me quotes from $7,000 to $9,000, and one wanted to spray some "waterproofing coating" on my stucco. Then I turned to Angie's List and found
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
and Sons near the top of the list. I left a message and received a return call the next day.
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
showed up for an on-site and a quote as promised. Unfortunately, most of the damage was covered by recent stucco patches, so it was hard to give an estimate. He had to trust my
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
's description of what was going on under the stucco, not something a professional prefers to do. I mentioned that other contractors were recommending a structural engineer, and he responded that it was not really necessary as he has had many years of experience with older, brick city houses exactly like mine, and the problem that I had was fairly common (which I know to be true, but is not a response I got from anyone else). He gave a description of how it should be handled and gave me a price range of between $500.00 and $3,500.00. I accepted his estimate immediately and we set a date for about 5 weeks later.
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
called the day before to confirm, and on the scheduled day, he showed up first thing in the morning with a son and a helper. Anyone who has called many local contractors that advertise in the local papers know what a rarity this is! No call to reschedule, no "family emergency", or just as often, a no-show. The work was done in about 7 hours as I watched through most of it. (Apologies to
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
for being in the way! It was a typical 99-degree Philly heatwave in a cramped alleyway, but I've had sub-standard shortcuts taken too many times by taking my eye off the contractor, and also I love watching the pros do what they do well! But,
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
handled my hovering with good humor.) The bricks were replaced by
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
hammering out the old ones and leaving what seemed to me to be WAY too much of my house floating in the air, unsupported. New bricks and blocks were inserted and mortared. Perhaps my only reservation is that some of the replacement material was cinderblock-- I was assuming from earlier conversations that all the replacement material would be brick that was compatible with the original material. From
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
's explanation of events, I let this go and am assuming that his choice was the correct one. Stucco was re-applied to the patches both inside and out. And, my house hasn't collapsed yet. They cleaned up to where you'd never have known they were even there, and left with a check for $2850.00. My final impression was that
Philadelphia Structural Engineers Provider Name Locked
is one of those local contractors that you always hope for but so seldom find-- punctual, hard-working, fairly priced, and knowledgeable in his trade such that he knows where to take the shortcuts and where to apply the craftsmanship. I most definitely plan to call him in the future for more projects.
