"I bought the spa from a long time ago. This spring through no fault of theirs it sprouted a significant leak. The first guy to come out" explained that it can be hard to tell where leaks are from, but that there was one obvious one and he would replace that part and see what happened. That made sense to me so we went ahead. Not surprisingly, after he left and we filled spa, there was another leak. This time they came out, looked at it, went home, ordered another part, came out, replaced it, and left (on this visit they didn't have the tools they needed, my boyfriend was home and got them for him from his own toolkit). When I filled it...a leak. They hadn't even stuck around to check. So at the 6th visit (because there was a visit after the 2nd guy left, to determine the source of the leak--oh yeah, I forgot, at that call they left and said they would come back the same day with the part...only they never called and never came...when I finally called at 8 at night they said they had to order the part. Would have been nice to let me know. ..I'm mad about that one, I on't think I should have had to have another service call, I don't feel he should have left without checknig for leaks), the guy promised me that he had checked thoroughly and there was no leak. I went upstairs, turned on jets...and a fine spray emitted through two of the connecting parts. Really? I called, they said they would send some one out the next day, I waited and waited and called twice, and when I finally got through...oh, sorry, can't make it today, but we will definitely come tomorrow. Really? So I totally get that a leak is hard to fix, and I totally get that it is much more satisfying to sell a new spa then fix an old one. And I will say that everyone who came out was very pleasant, and they always call me 20 minutes before arrival so I can either run home or be sure some one is home. The scheduling folks at the office are pleasant and efficient. My issue is that not one person has been professional enough to actually fix the problem. In my world if there is a leak, when you are finished you stop and check to see if it has been fixed. EVery time they leave and leave me with a leak I have to pay for another service call to come see what the problem is (that'll be three so far this year) and I have to wait two weeks for ordered parts and then a new appointment. They aren't terrible. They just don't care. . I'll use them again because they are what is available. If they read this review and fire me as a customer, I'll use some one else. If you do read it, guys, really, a little professionalism would go a long way. It was kind of a last straw that no one could be bothered to call and tell me that you were a no show for today, after two different people promised that you would be back. To look at the leak. That was clearly present when you left last night, only you didn't look for it.

"They realized that they initially made an error in the measurement and they fixed the error without any cost to us. The installer was very personable and professional.

My order of preference - first choice a jacuzzi/hot tub repairman (from a jacuzzi/hot tub/sauna distributor), second choice a plumber (many do not work on hot tubs, jacuzzi's and sauna because they cnanot afford to stock parts). An electrician might be able to fix it if it is a connection problem, but such motors are seldom repaired if the problem is internal, just replaced - which would be a jacuzzi repairman/plumber type job.
?

You will have to find out what your model costs new - looks like they run from about $400 to 1700 depending on size. IF yours is at the lower end, might be just as cheap to replace it, with parts and labor. If not low end, then repair probably works. Typical pricing of components that might have gone out - switch $80, timer/control unit $130, heating element $100 (probably most likely to have failed) - so if only one of these went out, figuring $100-200 labor, probably cheaper to fix it. I would contact your dealer for a better idea.

BTW - here is a Saunatec instruction on maintenance on the heating element and rocks, failure to follow can shorten heating element life, if that is what went out (and probably the simplest to replace) -

I'm sorry to say there aren't many of us on here with adequate experience working on pools, myself included.  My suggestion would be to contact a few local companies specializing in pool renovation and have them give their recommendations and bids for the work, breaking down order of operations so you know what to expect at which stages.  Check Angie's List for referrals in your area and cross check those with the BBB for any unresolved complaints.

I think they are great. The employees are friendly. The people that I work with are great. There’s one person who cuts my hair. There’s a person called and she gives massages, facials and waxes. I think she’s great. She really engages with me and I’ve been going to her for years. I have recommended ...More both of them to multiple people. They are just friendly and they only do whatever I want. They almost can read my mind. I would absolutely use their services again in the future.

We had a pool that needed to be drained & cleaned because it hadn't been opened in two to three years. We then used for maintenance. We found the personnel very polite and pleasant to deal with. Maintenance services were good. The biggest problem was communications -- between HQ & maintenance workers & both of ...More them and me. Communication was largely by paper tags that I didn't see for days because I didn't live full-time in the house. Neither the phone nor email was used. The other significant problem was failure to fix an ongoing leak -- a problem I identified -- until it suddenly grew much worse. This could have imperiled a home sale. Once the leak worsened, it was fixed quickly and cheaply -- at much less cost than all the extra water I had to use over the two summers. Not a perfect experience, but I'm not sure how much better competitors would be.

, the owner of the company, arrived when he promised and completed an installation of a new pool pump/motor for our above-ground pool. He also completed some additional work on the pool connections after traveling to secure additional parts. only charged us for the parts; no additional labor. In addition ...More to completing the work in a professional manner, returned to our home the next day to verify that everything was running smoothly, make any adjustments necessary, and offered some pointers on pool maintenance. is now our new pool service company.

We are thrilled with our new pool. We were expecting them to start in early May but they didn't until May 27th. The men were good and hard working as they had to get out our old decking by hand. The work went slowly and they were not great at returning calls. They hoped to be finished before the 23rd of June but finished on ...More 11 and were were swimming on 12th. We have had no leakage and we have been swimming until Oct 6th! We also extended the pool decking which was a little more but worth it. They are here today closing up and installing the cover. We will use them next year to service the pump and open the pool again. It is worth keeping the same company that built it. We have a calender year warranty, so any problems will show at the beginning of next year. We have not had a problem at all! One thing is they were not too careful with plants in the garden, so cut your own back before they come.

He cleans up when finished, and promptly calls me with all the details. His invoices are clear and detailed. He is very knowledgeable and VERY patient ...More with all my questions. They are so rude. They have no customer service. They said I was a pain each time I called. They never provided me with a receipt and never itemized anything. I've called many times and they said they would call within 48 hours and they never return calls.
