Philadelphia Designer Furniture Reviews

"We had ordered furniture from
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
's in the past and had had a great experience, so we thought nothing of ordering a bed from
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
's for our 2-year-old, who was ready to move out of his crib. We wanted a bed that was made by
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
. We ordered the bed in
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
2010 and were told it would take 12-16 weeks for delivery, which was expected. About a week later
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
's called to say that it would take a little longer. By January we hadn't heard anything so I called and started the longest, most ridiculous drama imaginable. First of all, the majority of the time when I call the store no one answers the phone. Sometimes I get an answering machine and sometimes the phone rings indefinitely. If I leave a message it never gets returned. So to reach someone I have to repeatedly call the store until someone actually answers. The people who answer the phone are unable to help with furniture orders, only
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
and
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
deal with that. But
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
and
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
almost never return the messages I leave with the store employees. So I have to keep calling back until either
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
or
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
are actually in. After a lot of this phone nonsense and a trip to the store I was told the bed would be delivered in March. March came and went. Then I was told it would be done by April 15. Then April 25. Then we had a delivery date scheduled in May. I called a couple days before and was assured the bed would be there as scheduled. It was not. I got this promise 4 times before a bed actually came. But it was the wrong bed. We were promised the correct bed would be made and delivered in 1-3 weeks. It came 6 weeks later--a year after our initial order.

In fairness to
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
's, I confirmed with another furniture store that
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
was having delivery problems and was taking as long as 6 months to deliver orders. However,
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
's was not honest with us about why it took a year to get our bed. By calling
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
I learned that even though we placed our order with
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
's in
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
2010,
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
's did not place our order with
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
until October 2010, 3 months later. Once the bed was finished,
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
held the bed for payment (i.e.
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
's hadn't yet paid the manufacturer for the bed even though we had given
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
's a deposit.) I also spoke to a representative from the trucking company who was delivering the bed from
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
to
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
's who more or less implied that they had held the bed for a while because
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
's hadn't yet paid them. I learned all this by calling
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
--
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
's just made excuses and said they were doing things that they weren't doing.

I realize that
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
's can't help if the furniture manufacturer is taking a long time, but I would have been a lot happier with the whole experience if someone from the store was easily reachable and if the store was honest with us about what was going on. I could quickly and easily get information from
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
, but trying to get something out of
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
's was like pulling teeth. The discount they gave on our order for our trouble was appreciated, but it was too little too late to make us a repeat customer.

"They had to take my sofa bed up to the second floor and it was kind of tricky, but they were able to get it upstairs without damaging anything. They also didn't charge me for delivery and assembly and I was very pleased with that. They were both special ordered and they were right on time with everything. I knew what I wanted in a sofa bed so that was easy. The sales lady went through many catalogs with me to try to find a new headboard and that was a little frustrating."
A
"The sales people and owner are very friendly, informative, and accommodating (without being hawkish!) and their prices are very reasonable, especially for Center City. The size of the selection is also surprising given the limited space the store occupies."
D
"The furniture was not at all ''just like new'' but instead was rather worn out, something that was not obvious in their dimly-lit showroom (more like a warehouse) but was obvious at home. The chairs ended up being too small for the table we had. We called the next day to see if we could return, exchange, or get store credit for the chairs, yet they refused any returns. Considering how expensive these chairs were, this whole thing was a big mistake."
A
"I love my furniture! However, I special ordered my living room set and it took a month longer to come in than they had told me, and I was not compensated for that."
B
"The people at the showroom listened to what we needed and didn't try to sell us just any piece of furniture. They worked with us to pick out the best piece for our home. The deliverymen were on time and carefully installed our sectional. We are very pleased with the service and would definitely buy from
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
again."
A
"The furniture was in excellent shape and very reasonable. The service was good and accurate the delivery was on time and no injuries to the furniture."
A
"Salesperson at the store was excellent. Very honest. She herself called several times to confirm furniture was in and asked when we would like it delivered. She was extremely professional, very nice to deal with. I didn't feel pressured to buy."
A
"The salesperson (
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
) was very nice and answered all questions professionally. She had experience and knowledge of furniture construction and design. A nice, friendly environment. Furniture was delivered on time and in perfect condition. Reasonably priced."

"
Philadelphia Designer Furniture Provider Name Locked
's was extremely professional and caring. Their policy is to satisfy customers is so true. We had 2 different service calls. The first was to replace cushions that were out of shape and the second to sew a cushion (damaged by us). No charge for either visit."
