Flooring Reviews in Philadelphia

This Contractor did not sand the floors correctly and then stained them with a roller leaving the floors with 3 colors. He was given a second opportunity to fix them with the person doing the work never having used a sander risking damage to the floors. They were again done wrong and at the owners expense had to be done by another contractor. This contractor charged for doing work so badly that it had to be done over by someone else. He blamed the age of the floors but the other contractor reported no difficulties except for repairing the damage done by

After dealing with another company that was unresponsive and then didn't show, we were so thrilled to get
's number from Lumber Liquidators. He responded by e-mail and phone immediately (that day) and then came within a couple of days for an estimate. He was willing to work with our original estimate from the former contractor and then scheduled our install for 2 weeks later. Not only did
and Z show up on time, but they were incredibly professional and worked straight through the day and completed the job as promised. And, the floor looks beautiful! I am not sure what I expected of a cork floor, but we really love it!
came and handled the paperwork and even made some adjustments to the estimate since we ended up not needing our steps done. We were so pleased with our experience and we cannot wait to work with this company again to do our wine cellar.

Here's what went wrong and right:
- At the store/showroom (which had a good range of carpeting to choose from), we had to track someone down to get help.
- Once we got someone to help (
Philadelphia Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
), the ordering and scheduling went smoothly.
- The guy who came out to take measurements and show us some samples (
Philadelphia Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
) was on time and helpful.
- It took over 4 weeks for the carpet to come in (only a little longer than expected)
- the three guys who came to install the carpet did a horrible job: carpet was not centered, it was hacked off at the top instead of folded, and, to top it off, they destroyed/removed the original cove moldings (under the stair nosing) and damaged/lost some additional molding pieces from the side of the staircase.
Philadelphia Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
responded reasonably quickly and sent
Philadelphia Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
out to assess the job/damage.
- carpet was reordered and only came in after we placed several calls (after waiting for about a month).
- a carpenter was sent out to replace the molding and he did a reasonably good job.
- the two installers (different guys than before) did a much better job, but they did not bother to move the padding installed by the first crew., so the carpeting still looks a little off due to the padding being off center. We gave up at that point.
Bottom line: If you go with
Philadelphia Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
, you will need to keep a very close eye on their installers.

The workmanship was excellent and the workers were very professional. They also provided us with an idea of the closest color stain to match the new wood flooring so that we could stain the stairs ourselves. They completed the project well within the timeframe they quoted.

The adjusted showed up on time and appeared professional during his visit with the insurance company. Unfortunately, communication between him (the company) and myself was non-existent. I needed to call the company searching for the public adjuster (

Doughterty) several times with no luck. Several messages left for him went unanswered. I finally got in touch with
Philadelphia Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
by accident while asking for the status of my claim and he was unable to provide me with anything concrete. I received more communication with my insurance company than with Ace. After receiving an email from my insurance company that a check was mailed, I contacted Ace who told me that the check had not arrived. After waiting 4 weeks for the check, I contacted the insurance company who informed me that the check was cashed 3 weeks prior. I still needed to argue with Ace to receive payment which they said would take 1-2 weeks. We decided to pick the check up ourselves and found that they had charged us an additional $100 for an appraiser that was never agreed upon. When we questioned this charge, they attempted to put an agreement into our file. We disagreed and they took it out stating that the owner will contact us to possibly reverse the charge. No call has been received after 3 weeks. A fax sent to the company describing our dissatisfaction went unanswered. A phone call to the company was also not answered. I would definitely not recommend

Adjuster in the future.

I had a great experience with
Philadelphia Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
. He knew exactly what I wanted and did a great job executing it. There were several instances that he went above and beyond to make the floors look perfect, without charging extra. He wanted it to look right, and that was most important to him. He takes a lot of pride in his work, and he should, he is very good. He fit me into his schedule on short notice and if it hadn't been for a delay on my side (the tiles I wanted were special order items, so it took a couple weeks) he would've been done within one week, from estimate to completion.
If I have any other floors done in my house I will absolutely go to him again. He is the best.

I called
Philadelphia Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
for an estimate to replace the floor on my basement. He was really responsive and showed up as he said he would to give me an estimate.
I hired him and I don't regret it at all.

I messaged

Philadelphia Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
looked at my house, asked me what I wanted, explained the details, told me how long I should wait before walking on the floors, and gave me a price. I was having some work done prior to moving in, and he coordinated the scheduling with the contractor who was doing the rest of the work. He did exactly as he had promised, the work took less than a day, and he accomplished it a day earlier than he originally had told me.
He was completely professional, and he did a fantastic job. The floors look wonderful.

We call my wife "eagle eye" because she an pick out a mistake a mile away, and is extremely picky about the finished result of any job....she was more pleased with the end result than I was.
