Philadelphia Dry Cleaners Reviews

"I have to say, I was pretty disappointed both in their dry cleaning service, and the alterations they did on my
Philadelphia Dry Cleaners Provider Name Locked
. The pashmina had faded lines from the hanger, and the silk top still had the stains on it that I had specifically pointed out and asked them to remove. The hems they put on my
Philadelphia Dry Cleaners Provider Name Locked
were not invisible hems (meaning they didn't keep the original stitching on the bottom hem of the
Philadelphia Dry Cleaners Provider Name Locked
, like I've had other tailors do). They just cut them off at the bottom and sewed a new hem. VERY disappointing. Now I have two pairs of
Philadelphia Dry Cleaners Provider Name Locked
that have the hems of dress slacks. NOT what I wanted. The alteration to the waist of the second pair of
Philadelphia Dry Cleaners Provider Name Locked
was fine. For the third pair of
Philadelphia Dry Cleaners Provider Name Locked
that I had the button repaired on, instead of reattaching the button with a metal anchor like it was originally, they merely sewed it back on. Not what I was expecting.

I rarely get things dry cleaned because I don't like its environmental impact, so I was really excited when this organic dry cleaners opened. I was equally hopeful that their tailoring services would be good, because my old tailor has since closed up shop. I am dismayed that both services were disappointing. I suppose my quest for a good tailor will continue, and I'll go back to using Dryell.

"I enjoy using this service. I never have to worry about finding time to make it to the cleaners. In the past, I had left my clothes at other dry cleaners for weeks on end, but now my clothes are picked up and brought right to me.
Philadelphia Dry Cleaners Provider Name Locked
uses nice text message reminders so I never forget to put my dry cleaning out, and he never misses a beat. Once when my clothes had a particular tough stain on them, he took the extra time to make sure that the stain was removed! The pants look like new! I've been using this service for about 4 months, and they have never lost a button, or ruined any garment. In fact, my clothes always look perfect. Stellar job!"

"With services like dry cleaning its not one example but the ongoing consistency that matters most, fair prices, successful spot removal, attention to a garments special cleaning instructions, etc. If something isn't just right
Philadelphia Dry Cleaners Provider Name Locked
and staff will take it back with the least bit of hassle and try again, that's what impresses me about RIMS dry cleaners."

"Wanted to try this dry cleaner in University City since I work nearby. Guess it wasn't the best solution, it took me just over a month (32 days, specifically) to get back there. Owner wanted to charge me an extra fee for storage. I said, why not
Philadelphia Dry Cleaners Provider Name Locked
-go the fee and keep a customer...where upon she began screaming at me, including calling me a *expletive*. Yes, I'm serious!! I did not provoke this or yell back at her, but she got nastier and nastier..."

"Lived around the corner from this place until a few months ago -- they were my basic go-to cleaner, and I outlasted at least 3 proprietors. MO same for all: they're a decent cleaner, acceptable if you live in this neighborhood (i.e. west of
Philadelphia Dry Cleaners Provider Name Locked
Square) but not worth traveling for. The prices are good for the
Philadelphia Dry Cleaners Provider Name Locked
Square area. The current owner speaks very little English, and can be rude. Fine for basic dry cleaning, but for stains, I would go elsewhere if you love it...product applied for stain removal to a sweater bleached the area. Also, I wouldn't recommend them for alterations (ability to operate a sewing machine does not a tailor make!)."

"This shop is quick and has excellent customer service. Mr.
Philadelphia Dry Cleaners Provider Name Locked
recognizes you right away after a couple of visits and will have your dry cleaning off the rack before you can get your receipt out of your pocket! They are great with stains. Over the years, I have brought them mostly stained stuff and clothes I didn't trust with the (cheaper) cleaner right around the corner from my old apt, and they have never failed me or ruined anything, so I highly recommend them! (And I'm still bringing my clothes here though I've moved to the outskirts of the city.) They used to have an excellent tailor, but he left to run his own shop. I can't comment on their alterations."

"This place is totally old school mom and pop. The proprietor
Philadelphia Dry Cleaners Provider Name Locked
shirts by hand between waiting on customers. They do great tailoring work, it's a good price for doing everything by hand. The pants were hemmed well and the curtains look fabulous. I tried to do them myself and they looked awful. I think this job was more expensive than most because of the size of the curtains. I think shirts are just a few bucks and they have specials depending on when you drop things off etc."

"I took in a raincoat needing waterproofing, and Mr.
Philadelphia Dry Cleaners Provider Name Locked
explained in detail the pros and cons of the several types of waterproofing available. He was concerned that the most effective coating might leave a lingering smell. He said he would hang it out in the air for a period of time if we still wanted that kind of treatment or would return it more promptly with the understanding that we would need to air it out ourselves. We had him do the airing out; my raincoat is now very nicely restored to original condition without a smell. If he thinks the repair will cost more than the garment is worth, he tries to discourage having it done. How many dry cleaners interest themselves in details as a matter of routine? I take everything to them. They also have shoe and jewelry repair in the same shop, which I haven't tried yet."

"I went to this location because they advertised themselves as "environmental" cleaners. The people working there were surly, the prices were outrageous, and they damaged 2 of the 4 or 5 pieces of clothing I brought in. One, a cream-colored sweater without a stain came back with a stain. They agreed to reclean it, then it still had a stain and the fabric was damaged. They wouldn't refund my money and were very difficult about it, and said I had to come back when the owner was there (which was too inconvenient for me). They also crushed the buttons on a pair of pants."

"Very friendly place, with good systems to track customers. Relatively pricey but have not had problems with the quality of work. Everything is always ready when they say it will be."
