I emailed Mr.
and he replied in a few days. We set up a date for an estimate. I asked if he charged for it, which he didn't, but I said I would pay (b/c few contractors on Angie's Phila. list in my area do carpentry on wooden porches). With my ongoing suspicion that some contractors won't work in some areas, I asked point
if he worked in Germantown, and he said yes. Mr.
was prompt, respectful, and seemed interested. He looked at the porch, speculated on how to fix it, even said he was fascinated by the challenge, and promised to check out the cost of a
to raise up the porch. Estimate in about "a week or so". That was April. He has my number and email. Can anyone out there tell me what part of contractor
means 'not really interested'?

started the job in January 2007 and it is May 2007 and he still has not finished the work. It has not been easy reaching him. At one point, he had his truck break down and could not work. He has also taken employment with outside sources and had to go to work instead of completing the project.

We paid half the job, initially for $9000 dollars, at the beginning. The estimated time of completion was three weeks. After the first week, work was only done sporadically, it was almost impossible to get in touch with
Philadelphia Foundation Contractors Provider Name Locked
(he had family problems. ) we kept getting promise after promise, to no avail. After two and a half months, we had to beg to get the job done and most of it was done in the last week, sloppily and half-heartedly, except for one worker who was really good. (

) they never finished all of it, and as a result,
Philadelphia Foundation Contractors Provider Name Locked
charged us less. We lived in the middle of the chaos and dirt of half done repairs for two months, without being able to use our garage or patio and never knew if it would actually ever get done.

came on time to provide the estimate for the work to be competed and provided us with a few choices of different systems to be installed. He showed us a video on his computer of how the system works and left brochures to assist us in our decision. He measured the entire basement area and provided detailed explanation of how his company could help with our water leaking problem. We live in a high water table area. He said it would take approximately 1-1/2 days to complete. Once we agreed to the system we chose, we talked with
Philadelphia Foundation Contractors Provider Name Locked
on the phone and scheduled the work to be done and paid for the deposit. Two workers,
Philadelphia Foundation Contractors Provider Name Locked
and Nick arrived on the scheduled date right on time. They were very polite and answered any questions before they began working. They put down protective covering over the kitchen floor and hall rugs since that was the only egress from the basement. They covered our washer and dryer in plastic. The rest of the basement was empty. They offered me some ear plugs due to the loud noise of the jackhammers. Once they realized that the basement floor was 8" thick, they determined they needed bigger

and/or more help. Two other guys came and the four of them worked through the day and got all the digging completed. They installed the drainage system then filled around it with stone. Buckets and buckets of stone had to be carried down the stairs.
Philadelphia Foundation Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very polite and provided me with updates on the project every couple of hours. On the second day,
Philadelphia Foundation Contractors Provider Name Locked
and Nick arrived on time again, and continued with the work of carrying 20-25 buckets of cement from their truck to our basement to seal the perimeter. They also installed their vent outside and
Philadelphia Foundation Contractors Provider Name Locked
showed me how it was done and how it works. It was a beautiful installation. Very professionally done. Once the job was done,
Philadelphia Foundation Contractors Provider Name Locked
described again what work was accomplished, how it works, and what maintenance will be needed. They cleaned up the whole basement and removed all debris and trash. and floor coverings. I highly recommend this company for any basement system deeded. The office staff, and workers are very professional and accommodating.

I contacted
Philadelphia Foundation Contractors Provider Name Locked
on Monday morning and
Philadelphia Foundation Contractors Provider Name Locked
the owner of the company came out that same afternoon at the time that he stated. My neighbor and I had been looking for someone to replace our sidewalks for the last 3 years and just didn't get a good feel for other companies that we had contacted. He gave a good price for the work that was needed and made us feel very comfortable with his knowledge and skills of his craft. He was very down to earth and never made us feel that he putting any pressure on us to have him get the job. He told us what was really needed as opposed to what we thought was need even if that was cutting him out of some addition money. When we asked him about how much he required as a down payment, he said that we would pay after the job was completed. I have never worked with a company that did not asked for at least half down before they would touch a job. This to me was a sign of a very trusting and honest person. We decided to have the work done and based his honesty and professionalism I decided to also have him replace a part of my backyard area. His crew was here at 8:15 that Wednesday morning as promised and started the work, they was very professional, they worked from the time that they arrived until the time the job was completed. There was no playing around they were very organized and each knew exactly what needed to be done and what their particular task were. They were very concerned about any questions or concerns that we had and addressed them immediately. They had to carry out debris and carry in cement throught a very narrow

came out at the end of the day and made sure we were satisified. When we noticed a few days later after everything had dried some minor issues he came right out and corrected it.
I highly recommend this company and would use them again. I got an outstanding job done by a very highly skilled company and I'm very happy and satisified with the workmanship. Hats off to

Contractors like
Philadelphia Foundation Contractors Provider Name Locked
are the reason why Angie's List has done so well over the years. I needed my chimney pointed along with several sidewalk repairs and cement leveling in the driveway. I also needed this work done as soon as the weather would possibly allow. I wasted time calling around town until my Father recommended we use his Angie's List. We found
Philadelphia Foundation Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his team and gave them a call.
Philadelphia Foundation Contractors Provider Name Locked
is a no nonsense, honest and efficient craftsman. Period. That's all you really want, right?
His quote was competitive, his start date was realistic and ALL cement work was crisp and tight. I had to be out of town the day this project was scheduled but
Philadelphia Foundation Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very accommodating and agreed to send pictures right to my phone when the work was completed.
In short, I would definitely recommend
Philadelphia Foundation Contractors Provider Name Locked
and my Father will be using him for some repairs, too.
Call them. This process really doesn't need to be a headache.
