"It went very well considering it was very short notice. Angie's list helped me to find this carpet installer who was in my neighborhood and received high

from other customers who have used them. I am a little disappointed in myself for not starting sooner to see if I may have gotten a better price. However,

had the color of carpet I needed and was able to install it immediately. I really didn't have the time to shop around. "

"The men came to pick up the rugs well within the two-hour window they had given us. They were businesslike and polite. They promised the rugs one week later. A day or two later, the plant called to say that two of the rugs needed minor repairs on the edges; they had a reasonable price and I gave permission. The men brought back the rugs one week later as they said they would, again within the time window. All cleaning and repairs were excellently done. No problems, a fine job, and will certainly use them again."

Philadelphia Carpet Installers Reviews

"A salesperson came to the house and I picked out a carpet. We decided on an install date, and they arrived on time. I was surprised when they asked for payment before the installation had even started! That was an arrangement that I was not comfortable with, so they left with the carpet. They never mentioned that was how I would pay. If they had, I would have canceled sooner. I have since started searching again for companies that will work with me."

came out for an estimate - he was very pleasant. Took measurements and gave us an estimate the next day - seemed reasonable. Unfortunately, he only had 4 carpet boards for us to choose from. We really wanted additional color and style choices. We emailed him a list of color & style we found from another showroom and he did not get back to us with prices for our other choices. I guess he can really only provide the carpet he has."

"This was a very unpleasant experience. We spent hours in the showroom selecting different carpets for our house. I should have been suspicious when they charged me $25 to take home samples, and $25 for measurements (all would be deducted from the carpet price). I had already selected all the carpet for my home, and thought it was low risk to pay the amounts and finalize the sale. After measuring and some intense negotiating, we agreed on a price for the carpet. I was ready to sign a contract. When I received the contract, it listed only the name of the carpet, color, and the final price for the entire job ($6700). I've done extensive internet research, and learned that you should not sign a contract that does not include such info as: # of yds of carpet ordered for each room, type of padding to be used, spells out furniture to be moved, etc. When I asked that the contract include that information, they stopped responding to me. No phone calls, faxes, etc. Of course, I have decided not to do business with this company, and I have started my carpet

over with another company (will be rated when the job is completed). My next step is to dispute the $50 I already paid them.

"Their representatives were friendly, professional, and prompt. They work on the floors was achieved in a VERY timely fashion (thank you!) and the floors look wonderful. My one complaint is that the clean-up was less than thorough. I am still swabbing dust from my ceiling, walls, moldings, inside of closets (which I should have been told to empty or tape off). So, be prepared to love your floors, but to live with dust for the weeks after!"

"Very flexible, good service, excellent installation. Working with

over the phone was great--we set up the sale from afar and he made sure everything was as we asked. More expensive than some, but the installers were so good that it was worth it."

came out right on time bringing several samples of different carpets and padding. When we explained the basement would be used as apply area for the children he helped us narrow down the choices that would be durable yet soft enough for the kids to play on the floor. His estimate was right in line with several other companies we checked. His professionalism and easy, open manner helped us choose his company. When we called on Wednesday to have the carpet installed we were told they would be out on Friday around 10:00 a.m. The installers arrived within 15 minutes of the stated time and were very professional. They were also very friendly especially to my 4 year old who was absolutely enthralled with the work being done. I would hire this company again and have already recommended them to several people."

began great -- meeting deadlines and getting work done. But towards end of process, things began to fall apart -- he didn't make deadlines, didn't repair some things that were wrong, and never went through the "punch list" he said he would do at the end of the job. Thus there were a lot of minor paint brush strokes left on the new carpeting (it was installed prior to painting -- not what I expected) that I had to clean up, and a section of wall paper was left out under the bathroom sink. The halogen lights he recommended installing under the kitchen cabinets looked great at first, but periodically their covers fall off and in some cases can't be re-installed because pieces have broken off. A shelf he installed also came crashing down one day (luckily no one was hurt). Some of the final jobs he agreed to do never got done. He finally stopped accepting my calls and never answered the last few e-mails I sent him. It was as though the Jekyll I hired turned into

"The work was done nicely. They removed all the furniture that I was unable to and they put it back when they were finished. My only complaint is that they left the leftover flooring in the middle of my living room floor. I am unable to lift it to move it."
