Philadelphia Waterproofing Contractors Reviews

"I'll never know anything about pricing or performance because no one ever returned my call. I certainly understand busy days, but not calling a potential customer is bad business.
"The work crew started on time and

was the supervisor on the site. They removed my laundry sink, washer and dryer and the drain pipe for the AC unit. They then dug up the basement along the wall out to the door, installing a 4" drain by my back door, a clean out and sump pump that will empty into my down spout outside. The work order included a 1" drain around the hot water heater however

said that it was not needed and so was not done. They poured concrete to seal the ditch and the wall as well. Out side they used my rock salt to put down on the drive way because of water on the ground and the cold weather. However I did ask that they turn off the outside faucet because of the weather and it is good that I checked because they left the valve open.

told me he would be back to reinstall the sink and put the washer and dryer back. We had some snow and the first call was answered and I was told that there was no one there. I have since called three times to have this completed however I have only received one phone call telling me someone would be back to take care of it. I am now missing the drain to my air condition unit which they removed. I have since had a plumber out to hook up my sink and will put off the drain to the AC unit till better weather. The plumber cost me $137 but It need to be able to do wash and without the sink I was stuck. I did call

and went to voice mail that was full, called the office and was told everyone was sent home due to weather. My wife is not happy at this because she has been able to go to work despite the weather.
To sum it up, no 1" drain around the hot water heater, no drain pipe for the AC unit and I had to pay a plumber to hook up the laundry sink and check to make sure the washer connections were correct. No one came by to check on the work or offer to make an adjustment due to some work being removed however on the second copy of the work order it shows that the drain around the hot water heater being completed that is a direct misstatement.
"They were very quick to respond, gave us an estimate and completed the work the next day. Provided recommendations on options we could try ourselves and how to proceed instead of spending a lot of money on more services "
"The customer service to set up the appointment to get a quote was great. very professional. they are a little over the top.... I was also sent a large book about basement refinishing and a personal bio about the estimator. nice but I could have saved some trees and lived without them. My estimator

, came highly referred. he is clearly been doing this for a long time. but he was very nonchalant with me and the situation. He said we can do this or that but always was saying that it is not going to be perfect...some of the coating may flake off after. I at this point I was not very confident that I would have a good outcome if they performed the work. He gave me a whole list of things options to do to solve problems that I didn't have or need. Like installing a sump pump when I wasn't having any water issues.
He came out on a Friday and said he would have a quote to my email by Monday. Monday came and I checked my box all day and no quote. I emailed by appointment setting contact and no answer. I couldn't find
Philadelphia Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
's email the website to email him about it. so by the end of day before leaving work, I called and reached
Philadelphia Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
and asked him about my quote. he said he would send it that night. Less than 20 minuets later I had a quote sent to me. It was pretty high compared to the others and loaded with tons of other options. My price listed here was for the cheapest wall service and for patching the floors.
Either way there was no way I was going to go with a company who made disclaimers about their finished product in the quote process. And no way I would use a company I have to track down to get my quote that was promised.
"Professional & clear presentation and we needed this work to be completed in a timely fashion and professional.
"I was able to schedule an appointment promptly, and

came out early (he even called beforehand to let me know he could get there early if it worked for me). He examined my basement, gave me pointers on what needed to be done, and didn't try to oversell me. He was honest, and it was clear that he wasn't trying to push services or get me to spend money. He gave me an honest assessment of my options and even told me how I could do the work myself.

and his team was very thorough in the job. My basement walls were falling apart....it was necessary I had to have them repaired in order to refin my house. While working in and out of my house they made sure they laid down drop cloths so my hardwood floors wouldn't get damaged. Once finished I couldn't believe my eyes that I was looking at the same walls. They did a great job...I am looking forward to working with them on a stucco job in the spring.

and ineptitude kind of summarize my experience with

Let's start with the sales guy. i pointed out that I had seen several competitor products and that one of them used a pipe that had a visible element that edged the wall. I flat out told him that I didn't like the visible part of the system. he replied the used a rounded pipe that was completely buried. Which is true, BUT he failed to mention that they instead used an ugly black plastic liner that edged the wall. An extremely visible and ugly black band now runs along the entire perimeter of my basement. I understand that it is needed to work with their system, but I was purposely deceived that there would be NO VISIBLE ELEMENTS. True, the pipe isn't visible, but it wasn't the invisible system the salesman implied by not speaking up.
To be fair at this point, I can say that they readily worked on the price with me to stay in my budget and added the french drains I wanted to go around the powder room area and the stairs and water heater. I have had water issues with these areas in the past, so I appreciated they were willing to compromise and directly address them.
Next came the install. The team that came out generally worked very hard. It was really very impressive how much they could do. My heaviest complaints were the HOW. For starteers the punctuality was HORRIBLE. They said they would be out at 9. Most days they arrived around 10. One day it was 11:30. Another it was 8. No calls to tell me. They either showed or didn't. i was also told it would take 5 days. Well day one was "prep" which took about an hour. But on day 5, they started to wrap after a very long day at 8pm and planned to return again the next day. Well, I had made arrangements with work for FIVE DAYS, not six. So they ended up tromping back down and working until it was totally done. About 9:30pm.
They did mention that normally the homeowner isn't present when they work. That the homeowner just leaves them a key, but I live in Philly and don't trust strangers in my home.
Next, be aware that the contract has a serious "cover their tail" clause in it for them. They CUT MY WALLS IN HALF for the powder room. We had discussed how to install the system around the powder room at some length. And they clim they tried to install the system as we described, but it didn't work. So instead they sliced the walls in half. And when i complained that wasn't what we discussed, they pointed to the clause that basically said they can do whatever they want to get the system in.
Well, finally the system was in and they wanted to schedule a final "follow up" inspection. We set a day and time. They didn't show. When I finally called to ask where they were, i was informed that they had changed my time. Without telling me. We set a new day/time which I then had to cancel. So of course they show up anyway even though I canceled with 72 hours notice.
Well, they never called back to do the follow up and now the system is leaking a noxious sewer gas smell.
The punchline? They kept asking "What can we do to make you happy?" When I suggested several things, they were all NO.
Reduce price/refund my money? - NO
Replace elements you destroyed? - they said yes, but it never happened
Give me a price on doing epoxy? - Never came
Can you come on Sunday? - NO
They just don't give a rats's tushy as long as the check clears.

"What a waste of time. My experience started off odd when the woman that took my call for an estimate asked me if I had a wife. I asked her what that had to do with anything and she replied that if I had a wife, she also had to be there for the estimate. Why would she need to be there? This made me wonder about what kind of customers
Philadelphia Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
deals with. Anyway, I scheduled the estimate for Saturday when we would both be home. My wife did not participate in any part of this visit.
The guy that showed up, took a look at my garage for about 1 minute, and then said the job would be about $6000. He said something about digging up around the perimeter and installing some stuff to let water have some place to go. Nothing in writing. This was not an estimate. This was a waste of time. I got the impression that this guy had someplace he would rather be and that I was inconveniencing him with an attempt to give him business.
While his off-the-cuff number was higher than I imagined for a solution to my problem, I really couldn't consider it anyhow since I have no idea exactly what I would be paying for - especially since at the end he said, "I'm not even sure that would solve the problem." Before leaving, he made some crack to the effect that people like me are stupid for buying a big old house like mine. Mind you, my house is in great condition. It's my 130-year old carriage house that has dampness. A waste of both my time and my wife's time.
"sump pump was installe and 2 walls were parged. Work was done in a professional manner. Drop cloth was used to help keep my home clean. this step was greatly appreciated. Work was done neatly.
