Basement Waterproofing Reviews in Philadelphia

Situation: Incoming tenant suffered respiratory distress while painting below-grade kitchen subject to high humidity. Discloses that she is highly susceptible to mold (no recognized issues with owners or previous renters). Moreover, she has been threatened with eviction if she overstays her exit date in current apartment.
Based on Angie's List Review, paid $49 for inspection and credit. House listed on Angie's include weekend contact. Called Saturday, 6/28, but no return call. Called again Monday, 6/30. Given appointment early 7/3.
representative, a son of owner, viewed the area. We agreed that since there was no active water infiltration, perimeter drains and pumps were unnecessary. Rep recommended removing an existing mold, and parging (coating) the dry stone party wall in this row home where mortar has failed.
I thereupon signed a contract for $2,500 given the pressure from my tenant. Both tenant and I asked that he contact either of us ASAP on whether accelerated treatment was possible given the tenant's occupancy pressures.
Tenant called Monday,
7, but reports that she did not receive a callback. I called Tuesday,
8, and was told that the owner, out on a job, would call me when he returned. He did not.
Due to the occupancy pressures, I have purchased safety gear, chemicals for surface treatment, and a chemical fogger. I also have purchased 150 pounds of a specialty, quick setting mortar repair product to parge failing masonry. Finally, I have purchased a Guardian Air HVAC Cell for installation within the duct work. I suspect that this will provide equal, or even better results, than the scope of work outlined in the contract.
(DETAIL: When the HVAC system is in operation, the HVAC-
Cell creates an Advanced Oxidation Process consisting of: hydro-peroxides, super-oxide ions and hydroxide ions. All are friendly oxidizers that
mold bacteria and viruses. These oxidizers revert to oxygen and hydrogen after oxidation of the pollutant.)
All this is out-of-pocket, as is the break from my scheduled annual vacation, since insurance will not over DIY expenditures or labor.
I am not sure what I got for my $49 -- certainly not any testing. What I did get was delay. One week on, I am preparing to do the job myself, one week rent is lost, one week of hassle for my tenant, all because the contractor did not have to courtesy to say that it either did not want the job, or could not meet my admittedly tight timetable.

and his team were wonderful to work with. They were all very respectful and nice. The team tried to leave as much as the wiring and the floor as possible, as not to demo everything. In the demolition process, however, some of the screws for the light fixtures went missing (not a terrible thing, but a small hassle). The whole process took about a week, and the drain and the walls were fixed. Our house doesn't smell moldy anymore which is a great plus! Two small things which bothered me slightly after the fact, was that the foreman,
, said he would return a window insert for our basement window, which he hasn't done yet (it keeps air from entering the basement). Also, instead of unscrewing some piping around the dryer vent, it seems that they have just ripped it out (but that was an easy fix on our end...we just got a new aluminum pipe for the dryer). The team put plastic sheeting down to protect the furniture on the first floor where they had to come in and out of to get to the basement (we don't have basement access). They also did a cursory cleaning before they left each day, which I appreciated. It wasn't a deep clean, but that wasn't expected either.
offered, kindly, to help us find some contractors who could help replace the drywall/studs and retile our floor; however, his contacts were all busy and weren't able to help us. We ended up contacting some contractors through Angie's list to help us return our basement to its finished self. It has been about a week and half after the work was completed, and the system seems to be working (and we have had some crazy rain storms). Although there is a puddle of water that collects around the lid of the sump pump, which worries me slightly. I have called
to ask him if that's normal, but otherwise the work was well done!

and his crew were on time, completed the job within a few hours. They cleaned up all of their materials and did an excellent job on the install of the sump, trench, and speed drain. I have not had any water in the month since. I would absolutely use them in the future.

's plan for my basement as well as their very fair price. The crew worked efficiently, and in a timely matter. I was shocked at how clean and neat they were throughout the entire job. I couldn't be happier with the end result. I would use this company again as well as refer them to my family and friends.

The workers were EXTREMELY detail oriented, and my

has never looked better! Clean, well-organized, considerate, and respectful. They were prompt, and went above the call of duty in several areas where they really didn't need to. This was a VERY expensive undertaking and feel like we got our money's worth.

Lower level of Apt had water accumulating inside after moderate to heavy rainfall. Water amounts steadily increased, so we contacted BasementsLoveUs for a free estimate. They sent out a knowledgeable technician who recommended a French drain system to be installed. There workers came prepared each day, laid out dropcloths to protect the floors, and worked diligently to complete this extensive job in a reasonable amount of time. Though this job took longer than originally planned, they didn't charge anything additional, and returned the next day to complete. We are satisfied with the work and would utilize there services again.

The provider was not able to tell us where the leak was coming from. The only time we would have the leaking into our basement, is when it is raining. Of course it was a good day. My husband felt that was 49.00 down the drain and he did not suggest that he would come back out when it did rain.

Everything is great. I love not having to worry about water in my basement. The drain is neat and professionally installed. It looks great. We also had a few cracks in our foundation fixed.

I made an appointment for the provider to come out and perform the service, but he never showed up. When calling the provider to see what happened, he apologized stating they had a problem so I setup another appointment. On the second appointment date, again the provider did not show up. When calling him again, he stated the problem was that I gave them my home phone so nobody was there to answer it, but he wasn't able to explain why he couldn't leave a voice mail. Two no calls, two no shows.
The provider agreed to refund my money.

responded to my inquiry promptly and came out the next day. I was in a pinch as I was trying to sell my house but was having trouble eradicating a new standing water problem.
He came out and felt that the water was probably from a combination of factors but would likely keep recurring unless I invested a lot of money to eradicate all those problems. He proposed a sump pump to deal with the immediate issue given that he felt it would be difficult to completely get rid of all the water.
We opted for the sump pump and he was able to get his crew there the next day and have the job done in 1 day. We have had no more water issues since!
