I have to say, I was pretty disappointed both in their dry cleaning service, and the alterations they did on my
. The pashmina had faded lines from the hanger, and the silk top still had the stains on it that I had specifically pointed out and asked them to remove. The hems they put on my
were not invisible hems (meaning they didn't keep the original stitching on the bottom hem of the
, like I've had other tailors do). They just cut them off at the bottom and sewed a new hem. VERY disappointing. Now I have two pairs of
that have the hems of dress slacks. NOT what I wanted. The alteration to the waist of the second pair of
was fine. For the third pair of
that I had the button repaired on, instead of reattaching the button with a metal anchor like it was originally, they merely sewed it back on. Not what I was expecting.

I rarely get things dry cleaned because I don't like its environmental impact, so I was really excited when this organic dry cleaners opened. I was equally hopeful that their tailoring services would be good, because my old tailor has since closed up shop. I am dismayed that both services were disappointing. I suppose my quest for a good tailor will continue, and I'll go back to using Dryell.

Much of
's work is fitting bridal gowns and other formal wear but she does do other alterations. Except for one pair of
, these were relatively
procedures, but in all cases the work performed was excellent. She does a much better job with alterations and is much quicker than the local dry cleaning establishments.

I have some other dresses and skirts that also need to be shortened and some other clothes that need restyling and I am very glad to have an excellent tailor who is only a five-minute drive from home. I will definitely use her again!

She has plenty of free offstreet parking behind her shop. This is is a big advantage as many other businesses on Ridge Avenue in Roxborough have no parking and you have to park on a side street which would be inconvenient for customers who need alterations on bridal or formal wear.

I went in to the shop on a Saturday morning. The tailor had me put on the outfit and had me stand on a raised platform. He pinned up the hem on the pants. Then he marked the hemline on the duster and then pinned up the sleeves. I then took off the outfit and gave him the parts he was going to do the work on. He told me they would be ready the following Saturday. Wednesday he called and left a message that the work was completed. He did an excellent job on all parts for a very reasonable cost of $40.00. I have a number of friends who had the same work done on identical outfits at other shops. They paid from $60.00 to $120.00 for it. I would definitely recommend him to everyone.

The alteration wasn't too difficult, but I was very impressed when they called me to tell me that they were concerned about the fabric and had decided to hand sew the tears. we've used them before and have been consistently happy with the service.

I have been to the store almost every Sunday since October for a few hours practicing and learning stitches. The atmosphere is very relaxing and friendly. They are open Tuesday and Thursday from 10 to 5. Wednesday from 10 to 8. Monday, Friday and Saturday from 10 to 4 and Sunday from Noon to 4.

Great end result and, although a second fitting/re-tailoring was needed, still met schedule so I could wear the dress at a wedding a week from the date I dropped it off. Straightened an extreme a-line skirt to a pencil fit. Love the final look.

Quality: Work was top-notch. There are several other cleaners within a few blocks, but people line up for
Philadelphia Tailors Provider Name Locked
because they know the work will be done well. You can probably find cleaning/alterations for less money, but it's not worth it. Service: People are friendly. I tried other services recommended by Angie's List, but the hours weren't as convenient.

is open more often and the work is great. I left something important in the pocket of one of the garments I was having repaired and cleaned. Someone from

was waiting at my house with it before I even realized what I had done. I couldn't ask for better service.

One of the relatively few true tailors downtown these days. Many dry cleaners ask you, ''how much of the hem do you want me to take off?''
Philadelphia Tailors Provider Name Locked
actually looks, asks what kind of shoes you're planning to wear, makes his chalk

, and always gets it right. He is also good at reshaping pants and dresses. He's done stuff same-day for me, and will redo items if you think it's now too snug/not snug enough, etc.

I took in a raincoat needing waterproofing, and Mr.
Philadelphia Tailors Provider Name Locked
explained in detail the pros and cons of the several types of waterproofing available. He was concerned that the most effective coating might leave a lingering smell. He said he would hang it out in the air for a period of time if we still wanted that kind of treatment or would return it more promptly with the understanding that we would need to air it out ourselves. We had him do the airing out; my raincoat is now very nicely restored to original condition without a smell. If he thinks the repair will cost more than the garment is worth, he tries to discourage having it done. How many dry cleaners interest themselves in details as a matter of routine? I take everything to them. They also have shoe and jewelry repair in the same shop, which I haven't tried yet.

was very professional, friendly, and polite. The coat was ready when he said it would be, and it was beautifully restored. I had a very positive experience, and will definitely use his services again in the future.
